"Not yet!" Although she was used to Mrs. Lu’s enthusiasm, Mu Lezhu still felt a bit unnatural. Perhaps she had been missing such familial warmth for too long, and suddenly having it required so adjustnt in her heart.
"That’s perfect. I’ve made bone broth, co and taste it. I simred it for over four hours last night! Ca here first thing in the morning." Mrs. Lu said as she led Mu Lezhu towards the dining room. "Speaking of which, you’ve been engaged with Xiao Jing for so long, and although we’ve had lunch and dinner together, this is the first ti we’re having breakfast together!"
Mu Lezhu maintained a gentle and light smile throughout, softly echoing whatever Mrs. Lu said, until she sat down at the dining table. Under Mrs. Lu’s imnsely caring gaze, she tasted the soup brought in small bowls by Aunt Chen.
"How is it? Does it taste good?" Mrs. Lu, full of anticipation, looked at her with a smile after she drank it and asked.
Mu Lezhu was also taken aback. She initially thought that soone as privileged as Mrs. Lu, living a life of luxury, would not usually cook, but she was pleasantly surprised by the soup’s genuinely good taste, which was a revelation to her.
"Yes, it’s very tasty." Mu Lezhu nodded affirmatively with a sincere smile.
"Really? Do you like it?" Mrs. Lu was naturally happy upon hearing this.
"Yes, I like it." Mu Lezhu nodded with a smile, answering from the heart.
"If you like it, have more. Luckily, I brought quite a lot today. If you like, I’ll make more, or if you feel like having so, just co to the old house anyti. Don’t stand on ceremony with ; the Lu Family is your ho now." Mrs. Lu said amiably, sincerely liking and feeling for Mu Lezhu, hence her overly gentle tone and smiling deanor when speaking to her.
"Okay." She was aware of Mrs. Lu’s kind treatnt toward her, and thus was grateful and happy.
"It’s good that you’re moving in with Xiao Jing. I wanted to suggest this earlier, but I was afraid you wouldn’t want to, so I didn’t say anything. With your grandpa in the hospital, it must be quite lonely for you to stay in that empty villa alone. Moving in, at least there’s soone to talk to, even though Xiao Jing is not talkative and has a difficult personality, at least it adds life to the house." Mrs. Lu advised earnestly, ending by even joking about her own son.
Lu Jingang first glanced at Mrs. Lu, but after realizing the oddity in her words, furrowed his brow slightly. Yet, he said nothing, just took a sip of his soup.
Hearing this, Mu Lezhu quickly waved her hand and explained, "Aunt Lu, you’ve misunderstood. I haven’t moved in. It was just because I drank too much at the An Family’s celebration yesterday... I didn’t actually move in."
Mu Lezhu felt her explanation was sowhat weak, but not being a particularly articulate person, she could only state the facts.
Mrs. Lu looked a bit disappointed and sighed silently, "I see! But, co to think of it, this is the first ti Xiao Jing has brought a girl to stay over. Lezhu! At this point, I’ll just say it directly: You and Xiao Jing are engaged. No one would say anything if you move in now. Living alone in the Mu Family Villa does seem a bit lonely and desolate. I’m not very comfortable with it. Why not move in with Xiao Jing tomorrow?"
