When the car arrived at the An Family’s Ling Mansion, dusk had completely fallen. The driver steadied the car, unfastened his seatbelt, got out, opened the back door, and nodded slightly, waiting for Lu Jingang to get out of the car.

Lu Jingang courteously nodded at him, shook his hand without saying much more.
"Grandpa An, Uncle An, Aunt An." She displayed a gentle, quiet smile, softly greeting them.
"It’s only been a bit over two months since we last saw you, Lezhu, how co you seem to have lost weight! Haven’t you been eating and resting well?" Mrs. An affectionately approached her, taking her hand, looking at her slightly haggard yet fresh and charming face with tender concern.
"No, thank you for your concern, Aunt." She looked at the hand holding hers, her gaze narrowing slightly, her words tinged with a distinct sense of distance.
Anyone with eyes could see her coldness towards the An Family, yet the outside world also knew that the relationship between the Mu Family and the An Family was even better than that between the Mu Family and the Lu Family.
