"Aunt... this is too much trouble for you, this matter..."
"What’s the trouble? Your cousin is married now, and your uncle is always busy and hardly ever ho. That big villa is just and two maids, it’s too lonely. These days, having Little Yu’er at my place makes it much livelier," Tang Xuehua quickly interrupted, fearing he might say sothing Ji Yaling wouldn’t like.
"Ah Yan, just listen to your aunt on this! You and Shi Shu are always so busy, where do you have ti to take care of Little Yu’er? Letting your aunt look after her not only gives you peace of mind but also keeps her busy. Your aunt now finds joy in taking care of Little Yu’er; it’s no problem at all. You two, just focus on your romance," Xiang Yuan chipped in quickly, possibly catching a glance from Tang Xuehua.
Lu Shishu glanced sideways at Nan Jiayan. She didn’t really mind Little Yu’er. Even when she and Nan Jiayan got back together, she had thought about this. She felt a bit of pity for Little Yu’er and really liked her for being so sensible and well-behaved. Even if she and Nan Jiayan got married one day and lived with Little Yu’er, she would be willing.
Ji Yaling wasn’t being selfish; she was just a mother who naturally thinks more for her daughter. No one wants to have a child already when they’re not even married.
There’s a saying that the eldest sister-in-law is like a mother. If Lu Shishu married into the family and had to take care of a four-year-old child, it would feel like being a ’stepmother,’ which doesn’t sound very nice.
After this topic ended, the atmosphere between the two families beca more harmonious. Ji Yaling and Tang Xuehua chatted and laughed, creating a lively scene, and occasionally teasing the little one held in Xiang Yu’s arms.
When the dinner ended, Ji Yaling, Lu Shiyi, and Xiang Yu left with the child first. After seeing them off, Tang Xuehua checked the ti and said, "Ah Yan, we’re heading back now. Take good care of Shi Shu, and don’t let her be wronged!"
"Okay, got it, Aunt."
"Shi Shu, we’ll leave first. Co to our place for dinner when you have ti."
"Alright." Lu Shishu replied with a faint smile, nodding.
After Xiang Yuan and his wife left too, Lu Shishu turned to look at Nan Jiayan. A chilly breeze made her rub her arms involuntarily. "It’s getting a bit cold, let’s go back!"
"Did you drive here?"
"What else?"
"I want to go back with you."
"Go back! You drive your car, I drive mine, that’s still going back together."
"..."
Nan Jiayan was speechless. These days he genuinely felt that Lu Shishu was getting more straightforward. Sotis he found it hard to flirt with her; it wasn’t like before when she’d blush at the slightest tease. Now, no matter how he tried, she remained unmoved and even gave him a disdainful look.
This couldn’t go on. He had to find a way to pamper her back to the way she was before.
"Why are you looking at like that?" Lu Shishu noticed Nan Jiayan’s particularly distorted expression and asked displeasedly.
"It’s nothing, let’s go! We’re heading ho." Nan Jiayan shook off his thoughts, took two steps forward to naturally hold her hand, and walked towards the parking lot.
Lu Shishu didn’t resist, allowing him to hold her hand. When they reached her car, she unlocked it, and Nan Jiayan released her hand, opened the passenger door, sat inside, buckled up the seatbelt, and closed the door, looking very obedient.
But his actions surprised Lu Shishu, making her a bit incredulous. Nan Jiayan noticed she wasn’t moving outside, tried lowering the window, but couldn’t. So, he opened the door again, poked his head out, and asked, "What’s wrong? Aren’t we leaving? Didn’t you say it’s cold? Get in the car!"
"What are you planning to do?" Lu Shishu couldn’t quite comprehend his bewildering behavior and glanced at the hood, saying, "This is my car."
"Yeah, I know! I just suddenly don’t feel like driving. I want to ride with you, and you’ll drop off at Xuan Mo Su Hua tomorrow morning since you’re going that way anyway," Nan Jiayan answered confidently, showing no embarrassnt, and not treating himself as an outsider at all.
"Do you even know how to spell ’shaless’?" Lu Shishu glared at him fiercely, asking through gritted teeth.
