Lu Shishu listened to his tone and thought sothing was off, even felt she was hallucinating, constantly feeling as if she heard a bit of grievance and coquetry in his voice.

Lu Shishu glanced at his harmless and warm smile. Seven years ago she knew how skilled Nan Jiayan was at enchanting people. Feigning misery to seek comfort and acting pitiful were things he was not unfamiliar with; instead, he was very adept at it, almost like his personal forte.

This was obviously intentional. If she really left with the umbrella, letting him get drenched in the rain, her conscience would definitely be uneasy. She had seen such tricks too many tis to be surprised, yet walking away would not exactly make her feel guilty, but sowhat uncomfortable.

"Thank you, Director Nan. I won’t be polite then," Lu Shishu kept a cold face, unaffected, took the umbrella in stride, suppressing the slight discomfort in her heart, and walked straight into the rain with it.

Watching her graceful silhouette step into the rain, Nan Jiayan chuckled quietly. He had already anticipated this result in his mind, so it wasn’t unexpected. Seeing her gradually distance herself from him, he stepped into the rain with his long legs, walking steadily, neither fast nor slow, allowing the drizzling rain to fall upon him.

Halfway there, Ling Wan Yi and the others noticed that Nan Jiayan and Lu Shishu were walking separately, with Nan Jiayan getting rained on. Seeing this, a few stopped in surprise, "Director Nan, why are you..." Speaking, they looked toward Lu Shishu, who was holding an umbrella alone.

Lu Shishu still wore a cold expression, appearing indifferent and detached, as if to say: ’It has nothing to do with , he himself asked to use the umbrella. No need to look at with those eyes.’

"It’s fine, it’s not far. Let’s keep going!" Nan Jiayan looked at her profile, a faint smile in his eyes, lightly responding to their surprise.

"Then let us give you our umbrella! The weather has been a bit chilly these days, you’ll easily catch a cold like this." Ling Wan Yi walked up to Nan Jiayan, handing him the umbrella, while she raised her arm to shield her head.

"No need, you use it yourselves. I’m a grown man; I don’t need you to give an umbrella," Nan Jiayan pushed back the umbrella she extended, responding with a pretend joke.

Among them, two were male staff, who imdiately ca over, smiling, "Director Nan, the umbrella is a bit small, though it’s a bit tight holding three people, it’s better than getting wet. If you catch a cold, we’d feel guilty too."

Lu Shishu watched their polite back-and-forth, always keeping a cold eye on the scene, finally stepping into the water with a stride, splashing small droplets, walking forward without looking back.

Seeing her leave, Nan Jiayan didn’t say much more, tacitly agreeing to the three of them sharing one umbrella, and they walked back in the direction of the restaurant.

Once they arrived at the hotpot restaurant, Nan Jiayan and those two staff were sowhat soaked, especially Nan Jiayan’s jacket, which was mostly wet on the shoulders, and water dripped from his hair. The other two were in relatively better shape.

After entering the restaurant, Ling Wan Yi promptly asked the server to bring three towels for them to dry off to prevent a cold. She was very thoughtful and ticulous, even ordering three servings of ginger tea to ward off the cold. When she saw Nan Jiayan drying his hair alone, she stepped forward to help him take off his jacket but was reflexively avoided by Nan Jiayan, who also subconsciously took a small step back.

Seeing Nan Jiayan’s large reaction, Ling Wan Yi froze for a mont, others also watched, and she naturally felt embarrassed, smiling awkwardly, "Uh... sorry, Director Nan, I didn’t an it. I just thought... wearing wet clothes would be uncomfortable for you, and if the inner clothes get soaked as well, it could lead to catching a cold. So I wanted to help you take off the clothes and have the server dry them. They do offer such services here."

"No need, I can manage such things myself, no need for your excessive worry." Nan Jiayan first glanced at Lu Shishu’s reaction, seeing her sipping plain water, her face unchanged, expression indifferent, not even glancing at him once. His heart inexplicably sank, and his tone towards Ling Wan Yi was harsher than usual, less jovial compared to his normal deanor.
