Lu Shishu smiled innocently, her eyes twinkling with a playful gleam. Her voice was calm and composed, devoid of any dissatisfaction or ill intent, which only infuriated Yan Chengxi further. She questioned, "Are you really with Nan Jiayan?"
Lu Shishu laughed again after hearing this, "Who is Nan Jiayan to you? Your boyfriend?"
"No... he’s not."
"Then... are you close to ?"
"You..."
"Since you’re not Nan Jiayan’s girlfriend and you’re not close to , why should I tell you whether I’m with Nan Jiayan or not? What right or qualification do you have to question ? Is your na written on him?" Lu Shishu chuckled lightly, her words laced with sarcasm, as she scanned her up and down, "Also, don’t speak to with that holier-than-thou attitude. I have everything you have; you’re not that noble."
"Hey! Lu Shishu, what do you an? Chengxi just asked you a simple question, and this is your attitude? Don’t act like everyone’s in debt to you." A girl standing next to Yan Chengxi couldn’t stand it any longer and stepped forward to defend her friend against Lu Shishu.
"You’re even more amusing! Are you deaf? Did she just ask one question? She clearly asked a bunch of questions, didn’t she?" Hearing what the girl said, He Qianyue couldn’t take it and started defending her friend, countering with dissatisfaction.
"Exactly! That’s hilarious. Honestly, Shi Shu’s attitude is already polite enough. You all must not only be deaf but blind too. Did you not see how overbearing and aggressive she was when she questioned Shi Shu? She looked like she wanted to eat Shi Shu alive, and it’s not just us sitting here. Many people saw it. You’re ruining our breakfast mood early in the morning." Lin Xuwan joined in without any hesitation, following He Qianyue’s lead, each word striking unreservedly.
Yan Chengxi and her two friends couldn’t gain any advantage here at all.
"You’re just being unreasonable." The girl wanted to say sothing, but Yan Chengxi pulled her back as she noticed many classmates around were watching. She swallowed her frustration and replied, quite feebly.
"We’re unreasonable? Or are you all just irrational? Don’t cause trouble early in the morning because you can’t stand to see others doing well."
"Shi Shu and Nan Jiayan are together; you don’t need to be so envious! It’s so early in the morning, and you’re already causing trouble." Lin Xuwan knew Yan Chengxi’s tricks well and feared she’d start to act pitiful and claim they were bullying her, a tactic she often used. So Lin Xuwan simply said it loudly, leaving Yan Chengxi no opportunity to play her gas.
Lu Shishu was slightly surprised by this, looking towards Lin Xuwan, but Lin Xuwan gave her a look, and she understood. She raised her eyebrows and smiled at her, "What ti is it? Isn’t it almost ti for class? Have you guys finished eating?"
"I don’t want to eat. I’ve lost my appetite because of so unaware people." He Qianyue pouted in dissatisfaction and put her chopsticks on the table.
"I’ve finished too." Lin Xuwan nodded and responded.
"Yeah, it’s about ti. If we don’t leave now, we’ll be late." Cen Jin smiled and added as she tidied up her tray, slowly standing up, speaking softly, "Since everyone is done, let’s go!"
"Okay." Lu Shishu smiled and nodded, picking up her tray and looking at Yan Chengxi, "Excuse , could you let us through? You guys... are blocking our way."
The girl glared at Lu Shishu angrily, showing no intention of moving, but Yan Chengxi knew that if she continued like this, she’d end up a laughingstock since so many people were watching!
"Ai Li, Xiao Mi, let’s go." Yan Chengxi took a deep breath, lifted her head, and cast a sidelong glance at Lu Shishu, calling over the two girls beside her. She picked up her tray and moved to an empty table in front, occasionally glancing their way.
Watching the three of them walk off haughtily, Lu Shishu snorted, put away her tray, and the group left the cafeteria. At the fork in the road, they split from Cen Jin, and with He Qianyue and Lin Xuwan, she headed towards their departnt building, chatting and laughing.
After the two morning classes ended, Lu Shishu had no classes in the afternoon. During lunch, she and Lin Xuwan and He Qianyue planned to go shopping on West Street to buy autumn clothes. Since Cen Jin had classes in the afternoon, she couldn’t go, so she asked Lu Shishu to bring so snacks for her when she returned.
