Lu Shishu glanced at him speechlessly, not planning to say much about the matter, and replied blandly, "Why are you concerned about this? You aren’t lacking people who like you."
Nan Jiayan raised an eyebrow and looked at her face, exquisite and charming under the streetlight, with a aningful smile in his eyes.
As they were about to reach near the school, Nan Jiayan saw many people in the distance queuing up to buy ice cream, so he stopped and turned his head to ask with a smile, "Want so ice cream?"
"Hmm?" Lu Shishu followed his gaze looking over, smiled, and nodded, "Sure!"
Ice cream was sothing she never ate before, all thanks to Cen Jin and Yu Feici. After knowing them for so many years, the only thing they influenced or changed about her was making her fall in love with ice cream. Whenever she went out shopping with them, ice cream was an indispensable treat.
"Then wait for here for a mont, I’ll go buy so." Nan Jiayan parked the bike by the roadside and said with a smile, "I’ll leave the bike to you too." With that, he directly went to stand at the end of the long queue.
Lu Shishu leaned against the bicycle silently waiting for him. Because there were quite a few people in line, Lu Shishu waited for quite a long ti, but she didn’t show any impatience. Instead, she quietly lowered her head playing on her phone, chatting in the group with Cen Jin and Yu Feici.
And from not far away in the queue, Nan Jiayan couldn’t help but frequently lift his head to look at her. Every ti he saw her still there, a sunny and warm smile unconsciously ford on his lips.
After waiting for about six or seven minutes, Nan Jiayan ca over holding two ice creams, handing them to her, "Here! I wanted to ask what flavor you liked earlier, but you didn’t look over or respond, and I don’t have your contact information, so I only got two original flavors."
"Thank you." Lu Shishu took one of the ice creams from his hand, stood up straight from the bicycle, took a bite, feeling the coolness and sweetness.
Seeing her face showing a satisfied smile, Nan Jiayan pushed the bicycle and walked alongside her.
After entering the school, Lu Shishu’s phone, kept in her bag, suddenly rang with an ear-pleasing notification, and after checking it, she found it was from Cen Jin. After reading the ssage, Lu Shishu’s eyes widened, and she beca excited, put away her phone, and looked at Nan Jiayan, "Um... Thanks for the phone and card case issues, and for today’s dinner and... ice cream too. Thank you, I have sothing to do, so I’ll go first. As for treating you to dinner, let’s schedule it for when you have ti!" With that, she turned to leave.
"Hey... Wait, what’s going on? Is sothing wrong? Why so rushed?" Nan Jiayan noticed her mood was off, and out of curiosity, held her to ask.
"Not really... Just now, my friend told that the book I’ve been waiting for has been returned. I didn’t have a chance to borrow it last sester, so now that finally there’s an opportunity, I have to go."
After hearing this, Nan Jiayan relaxed and smiled, "Which library?"
"The big library."
Nan Heng Academy of Fine Arts has two libraries, one particularly large and another relatively small, considered dium-sized. Due to the large campus area, the distance between the two libraries is quite far.
"Then it’s quite far from here, walking will take about half an hour! Let’s go! It’s pretty close to the basketball court, and I need to go to the basketball court anyway, so I’ll give you a ride on my bike." Nan Jiayan lifted his leg, got on the bike, and gestured towards her with his eyes.
They were at the east gate, while the big library was at the west gate, and getting there required going around the entire basketball gym and tennis club, making walking too ti-consuming compared to cycling, which was much faster.
Lu Shishu eagerly wanted the book, looked at the back of his bicycle, and considering she already hitched a ride once today, didn’t mind a second ti. After a brief hesitation, she still held onto his shoulder, swiftly stood up, placed both hands on his shoulders to steady herself, "All set."
"Off we go then! Hold tight." Nan Jiayan smiled heartily, pedaling steadily along the school path lined with plane trees, amidst many envious and curious glances, his smile remaining unabashed.
