The evening breeze rustled, and that voice gently plucked at her once calm heart like musical notes, suddenly causing ripples. Even her expression held a trace of panic, like a child caught in the act of stealing candy.
When she turned around to et his cold and distant deep eyes, Cen Jin’s heart inexplicably trembled, becoming uncertain. It seed he had just co out from the house, yet she generously asked with a smile, "Are you going out?"
"To the supermarket to buy sothing." Jiang Baizhou still spoke succinctly, his gaze imperceptibly shifting to Yun Qi, who was standing in front of Cen Jin, a sharp gleam flashing past.
"Buying sothing?" Upon hearing this, Cen Jin suddenly rembered sothing, "Ah! I almost forgot, Ms. Qin called this afternoon asking to bring her sothing. I’ll go with you!"
Jiang Baizhou didn’t reply, just lifted his head indifferently, glancing sideways at her profile, while his peripheral vision swept over Yun Qi’s gentle and handso face.
"Go ahead! I’ll leave first." Yun Qi, catching Cen Jin’s glance, smiled slightly.
"Alright, drive safely, and thank you so much for today. See you next ti." Cen Jin smiled warmly, waved at him, and watched him return to his car.
Even before Yun Qi’s car left the intersection, Jiang Baizhou spoke coolly, "Let’s go."
But Cen Jin still stood there, watching Yun Qi’s car disappear from sight. When she turned around, she t Jiang Baizhou’s angry eyes and his frosty expression. Cen Jin paused, her cherry lips slightly parted, but before she could speak, Jiang Baizhou turned and walked off to the right.
Cen Jin imdiately followed, glancing guiltily at Jiang Baizhou whose emotions were unreadable. Considering for a mont, she asked, "What are you going to buy at the supermarket?"
"Soy sauce."
"Oh, oh, you haven’t had dinner yet?" Cen Jin placed her hands behind her back, walking lightly, tilting her head to glimpse his profile.
"Have you eaten?"
"Yes, I have."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Baizhou glanced sideways, pressing his cool lips into a straight line, saying nothing further and continuing forward.
Walking side by side again, the atmosphere beca particularly awkward. Cen Jin touched her nose, clearly feeling his anger. Could it be because she didn’t answer him earlier?
"Who is he?" Just a few steps from the supermarket, Jiang Baizhou suddenly stopped and asked abruptly.
"Ah?" Cen Jin had been preoccupied with why he was angry, and his sudden question caught her off guard. She looked up sharply, gazing at his profile, pondering his question: "He? You an Yun Qi?"
"Yun Qi?" Jiang Baizhou squinted, lips murmuring, "The president of the Yun Group?"
"You know him?"
"Heard of him." Jiang Baizhou withdrew his gaze, continuing to walk inside, "How do you know him?"
"Because of the fabric."
"How long?"
"What?"
"How long have you known him?"
"Well... it’s been about eight months, I think." Cen Jin said, walking while figuring the ti.
"It was when your studio’s fabric shipnt was intercepted the last ti."
"Yes, that’s right, it was that ti." Cen Jin nodded seriously, looking at him, not noticing her footing as she hit the small step at the supermarket entrance. Her body lurched forward suddenly, and instinctively her hand reached out to grab Jiang Baizhou’s clothes. But seeing this, Jiang Baizhou quickly caught her outstretched hand with his arm, supporting her body.
Once she regained her balance, Jiang Baizhou seed to sigh in relief, yet his brow furrowed. As soone passed by Cen Jin, appearing to be about to bump into her newly stabilized figure, Jiang Baizhou gently pulled her wrist, drawing her into his arms, "Watch the road."
