"He needs to stop Xander; we both do. But we can’t just storm in and destroy everything he’s built. If we do, we’ll be putting the girls’ lives in danger and leaving them with nothing. That’s why I ca up with an idea," she explained, her tone firm. "I’m trying to convince Xander to pay them. So, when it’s all over, they’ll have sothing to rebuild their lives."
"That’s not a bad idea at all," said Tracie. "I’ll quickly arrange a et up for you and Xavier so you can both discuss this together,"
Everything was happening so fast and now she was going to be eting with her husband she’d promised herself she wasn’t going to see until she’d completed her revenge.
Anastasia parted her lips to say sothing else, but then paused when she saw Julian walking towards them.
"Why are you here?" She asked.
"I need to tell you sothing," he said, his voice low as his eyes flicked toward Tracie, who was subtly glaring at him. His gaze dropped to her fist, slightly clenched—a reminder of their last brawl that had left them both cautious. Mostly, though, he was wary of her. "Xander has an informant. Soone who keeps tabs on Xavier and feeds him everything about his moves."
The words that spilled out of his mouth ca out as a shock to both Tracie and Anastasia.
"An informant? That’s impossible. Xavier only has trusted n by his side," said Tracie, her scowl still visible.
"I know it’s unbelievable, but it’s the truth. There’s soone in your team who’s keeping a watch on Xavier," said Julian.
"But that doesn’t make any sense," Anastasia interjected. "If Xander indeed does have an informant, then Xavier wouldn’t be able to destroy the trades and rescue the girls."
"If there truly was an informant, Xander would have laid a trap for Xavier long ago and captured him. Who even told you this?" Tracie questioned.
"Xander himself, and believe when I say he wasn’t bluffing." His gaze landed on Anastasia. "Even Samantha knows about this person."
Anastasia couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She shared a glance with Tracie before their eyes landed on Julian.
"Xavier needs to be careful," she mumbled under her breath.
Tracie went back to Radiantia that sa day, walking into Xavier’s hideout, her eyes landed on Maxwell and Kace, her eyes narrowing on them before they settled on Xavier.
"Can I speak to you in private?" She asked, and the two turned to look at them but they didn’t say anything.
Xavier wondered why Tracie would want to speak to him in private when the only two people beside him weren’t strangers to begin with.
Nevertheless, he didn’t object and stood up from the desk, limping on his injured foot before they stepped out.
Tracie assisted him with his crouches as they ventured into the forest when she was sure no one would overhear their conversation.
"What did you want to talk to about?" He asked.
Tracie glanced around, ensuring they were truly alone in the forest. The soft glow of dusk bathed the surroundings, with the sun just about to set, casting long shadows through the trees. The fading light was enough for her to scan the area without struggling against the encroaching darkness.
"I got information from soone, and she inford that there’s an informant in your team," she replied.
A big frown settled on Xavier’s forehead as she stared at Tracie.
"What do you an by you got information from soone? Who’s that and who’s the informant?" He questioned.
Since Anastasia was already planning on working with Xavier, there was no need to not tell Xavier about her.
"She’s soone I just t recently and you’ve t her too."
"Stop speaking in riddles and tell who exactly this person is?"
"It’s the waitress you t at the trade back in Faville."
Xavier’s eyes widened in shock.
"What?"
"She’s the one who rescued the girls—you already know that. She’s not an enemy," Tracie explained, her voice steady but urgent. "She’s working with Xander, but only to bring him down and save every girl he’s holding hostage."
She paused, glancing around again to ensure no one was listening. "She also inford there’s an informant in your team. Xander knows everything. That’s why I couldn’t say any of this in front of Kace, Maxwell, or any of your n."
"Wait a second, you an to tell you t so random woman and you’re just going to believe whatever she tells you?"
Tracie didn’t reply because she already knew this was how Xavier was going to react.
"Kace is my little brother and Maxwell is my best friend. How could you even believe a nobody’s words just like that?"
"I’m not saying I believe her. But we have to be careful. Haven’t you ever wondered why you still haven’t found Anastasia yet? What if soone in there is keeping tabs on you and reporting everything to Xander?" She questioned back.
Then she rubbed her face in frustration and she sighed to calm her nerves.
"The woman wants to work with you. Just et up with her and discuss things. Just don’t tell any of them about it."
Now Xavier was the one to sigh.
He’d been shocked the night of the trade to find soone else doing the sa thing he’d been doing for many years. And now, there was a chance that soone was keeping tabs on him from his very own team.
Who could it be?
"I can assure you she’s not a dangerous person. She was the one I went to et in Faville. Just et with her once and you’ll find out if she’s a good person. You’ll also get to see the place those girls are staying," she tried to convince him.
He wasn’t showing any signs of objecting but he wasn’t saying anything either.
Just when Xavier was about to respond, he heard a little rustle in the bush. Not only him, but Tracie heard it too.
Instantly, their heads snapped to look in that direction.
"What are the both of you talking about?" Kace asked.
