As she continued her search, she didn’t forget to keep everything back in its place so nothing would be left out.
Anastasia went to the closet and opened the drawers. She saw so files and opened them. Her eyes nearly popped out of her sockets when she read the words written on it.
Anastasia began to flip the file but what she saw was similar till the last page
In the file was what seed to be the picture of a married couple, with a long series of numbers that seed to be the paynt done for their business.
Under the married couple’s picture were won who wore gowns which seed to be hospital gowns and then the number of children they were expecting.
"Is it a baby factory?" Anastasia thought out loud, her eyes still wide in shock as she read further into the file, trying to keep track.
Anastasia read the biography of all the families and every one of them were rich people in politics.
The length at which Anastasia could rember her past, surrogacy wasn’t permitted in Radiantia or any other country. Which was probably the reason Xander and Samantha decided to get into sothing illegal. They were only making their money through illegal businesses.
The woman in the photo seed to be in a much better condition than she and the other girls here. They seed to be fed well, and their eyes weren’t as hollow as theirs in the house. They had a small smile on their lips that only confird they weren’t as miserable as the sex slaves in the house.
Anastasia imdiately slamd the file shut to stop herself from thinking what she was thinking.
"For all I know, they must have held them at gunpoint to smile and look happy like that," she mumbled.
Then her heart sank recalling Avery’s words earlier. She would be transferred to the factory to make babies for people she didn’t know.
Anastasia’s legs went weak at that thought and she started to wobble. It took her so mont before she finally stabilized herself. Her hand clutched her chest, feeling it hamr against her chest, begging to fly out from there.
She’d already lost two children all because of her enemies, and now they were going to make use of her womb like she was so animal. That thought not only made her gag, but it also made her skin crawl.
Not long ago, she’d been abused severely just for chasing after freedom. And now this?!
Tears freely flowed from her eyes, staining her cheeks. Anastasia quickly reached out and wiped her face clean. She might not have recovered all of her mories yet, but she’d concluded she despised crying and being weak.
Escaping was not sothing she could do in a situation like this especially when the security around the house had tightened. If she attempted to escape, it would only lead to death.
Was it worth getting herself killed than to end up in such a hellhole again?
Anastasia wondered what her life would have been if she hadn’t lost her mories. Would she have been with her husband Xavier, with him caressing her baby bump with no Xander Samantha or Michelle to worry about?
Anastasia closed her eyes as her tears continued to flow uncontrollably. She suddenly felt weak, beyond weak she didn’t know what she would do anymore. She despised being weak but now she’d fallen in that position and it seed she would continue to be in such a situation.
Anastasia sighed, wiped her tears, and kept the file back where she saw it, her mind finally making a decision.
"If I’m going to lose my life all in the na of freedom, then so be it."
She released another heavy sigh that seed to have removed so weight off her shoulders. However, no matter how many tis she blinked, she was still in the house that was filled with torture and pain. Every day, she thought she was hearing a girl wailing because she’d endured enough.
At that mont, Anastasia heard the car honk and the file unknowingly slipped from her hands before she could properly tug it in.
Thankfully, with the help of Samantha’s windows, Anastasia could spot the car that was honking.
She peeped, finding the henchn opening the gate for a car that drove in. She didn’t wait to see the people who would step down from the car because she already had a good idea who it could be.
Her hands shook with nervousness as she picked up the file in haste and tucked it back where she’d seen it.
Luckily for her, she always placed back everything she picked up with precision so nothing would be left out. So, there was no need to start rearranging and getting herself caught, and punished rcilessly with the urge to die.
Anastasia scanned around the room to double check there still wasn’t anything that could be out of place, while she heard the faint voices of Xander ordering his n. However, she couldn’t hear exactly what they were talking about. Not like that was what she cared about at the mont.
When she was done, Anastasia closed the door with a soft click, the complete opposite of the cacophony of terror her heart was producing. She feared that it was loud enough for soone to hear.
Anastasia swooshed past the room as she headed for her room. She avoided the caras like she’d done and despite the little ti that she had left, she knew she needed to be patient for the cara to turn away before she could finally have the chance of escaping back to her room.
When the cara had finally turned away, Anastasia began running again. Her room was only one flight of stairs away but that short distance seed far.
Just when she was about to climb the stairs, she saw a shadow coming down and imdiately, she quickly hid herself behind the stairwell nook.
