During dinner ti at the Wallace mansion, Xander could feel the glare from across the table and he didn’t even need to raise his head to know who was glaring so hard at him.
"Xander!!" Mr. Wallace called, catching everyone’s attention.
’What did I do wrong this ti?’ Xander couldn’t help but wonder.
Nothing good ever ca out of Mr Wallace’s mouth whenever he called Xander, so he prepared himself to be criticized.
"Yes, father?" He replied.
"I want you to break up with that girl you’re in a relationship with," Mr Wallace demanded.
As soon as those words fell out from his lips, the dining table fell quiet as everyone’s head turned to him.
Mrs Wallace’s head turned to face Xander. "You have a girlfriend?" And he managed to nod.
"Xander has a girlfriend?" Kace asked, his eyes widened in shock as if he’d just heard the greatest news.
Mrs. Wallace imdiately sensed there was going to be a huge argunt at the dining table, so she asked the servants to take both Richard and Kace to their bedrooms. They were finished with their dinners anyway.
Then, she stood up and helped old Wallace off her feet and took the old woman to her room for rest before returning to the dining table as soon as possible.
"Did you hear or you did not hear ?" Mr Wallace questioned, making Xander realize he hadn’t answered his father yet.
"I’m not going to break up with Arabella," Xander declared without batting an eyelash.
Xavier could only silently sigh tirelessly.
They’d just returned ho after the competition was over. Although they lost in soccer, the other students from their school perford well in other sports so they were able to bring the trophy back to the school.
All he wanted to do was finish his dinner and hit the sack. Unfortunately for him, it seed his father had sothing to say and from Xander’s tone, the latter was ready to take him on tonight.
"Thomas, why do you want Xander to break up with his girlfriend?" Mrs Wallace couldn’t help but ask.
Although she was just learning that Xander got himself a girlfriend, she didn’t find anything wrong with that.
"Because that girl ca from the slums. I can’t have anyone who ca from the pit hole to associate themselves with my sons," Mr Wallace declared.
This was probably the first ti Mr. Wallace acknowledged Xander as his son, however, it was for the wrong situation so Xander didn’t feel the least touched.
"Such a girl would bring nothing but bad luck to this family." Then Mr Wallace turned to face Xander one more ti as he continued. "You’re going to break up with that girl and that’s final."
"And I said I’m not going to break up with her. I never asked for your permission if I could date and believe it or not, you don’t have the right to tell who I can and cannot date!"
Xavier was beyond shocked by what was happening, but he was even more shocked by his father’s reasons Xander should break up with Arabella.
Xavier had known about Xander and Arabella dating because Maxwell inford him about it, but now his father was asking Xander to break up with her for the most stupid reason he could ever think of.
Mr Wallace abruptly stood up from his chair when he heard Xander’s words, anger palpable in his expression.
"You don’t have any right to defy my orders!" Mr Wallace barked. "For all we know, that girl could only be hanging around you because of our family background."
"Wow, Dad! Thanks for the concern, but you can keep it to yourself because I don’t need it," Xander replied with a sarcasm laced in his tone. "But I’m not sorry for disappointing you one more ti. Since you’re the one who has a problem with dating Arabella, that’s none of my business. I’m not going to break up with her just because of your selfish reasons!" Xander declared.
He might not know how his father found out about his relationship with Arabella, but he certainly wasn’t going to listen to whatever his old man told him.
The temperature surrounding the dining table beca oddly tense.
Mr Wallace was imdiately vexed at how Xander kept defying his orders.
"Don’t you dare talk to like that!!" Mr Wallace warned. "You’ve been an unfilial son and now you want to embarrass this family?"
Xander couldn’t help but stare at his father in confusion.
The old man had never really bothered much with whatever Xander was doing, and now, he wanted him to break up with his girlfriend when their relationship was only a day old.
"If you don’t call that girl now and break up with her right now, you’re going to leave my house."
"Thomas!!" Mrs Wallace finally intervened. "What had gotten into you? You’re going to ask Xander to leave this mansion because of so girl?" She questioned.
"Father, you’re taking things too far," Xavier added.
"Am I taking things too far? This useless brother of yours is bent on disgracing outside. There’re so many girls from influential backgrounds that go to that school and he had to go pick so nobody."
Mr Wallace was now spitting saliva as anger raged through his body.
"Fine!" Xander suddenly said with a clenched fist. "Since you want out of this house just because I love soone whom you don’t approve of, then I’ll leave this house."
"That’s nonsense!! You’re not leaving this house." His mother tried to stop him.
"He can leave for all I care. He’s useless anyway."
Xavier and his mother did not like where the situation was heading since his father was talking like a drunk man.
Usually, when Xander had done sothing wrong, their father would only leave him with a warning.
However, this situation was completely different.
"Leave now. I want you to leave this house at this mont and don’t even think of taking anything with you." Mr Wallace called the guards and asked them to kick Xander out.
Xavier imdiately tried to stop his dad but it seed he’d made up his mind to kick his very own son out of the mansion.
