"What are you doing here, father?" Allison questioned Mr. Quinn, her father, who seed to not be able to sit properly on the couch without fidgeting.

"Allison," the middle-aged man rushed to his feet when he saw her. "Allison, you need to help ."

Allison directed her gaze towards her mother and sister. "Why did you let him into the house, Mother? You of all people should know this man doesn’t belong here after everything he’d done," she questioned.

Mr. Quinn, a man in his late forties, had a beard so unkept one would think he was coming from the jungle. His clothes were stained with mud Allison had no idea where he got it from. Either way, she didn’t care because she didn’t want to know.

All she wanted was for him to be out of her house.

"Allison, dear, he’s your father," Mrs. Quinn, reminded.

"I don’t care," she bit out.

Tears threatened to roll down from Allison’s eyes but she sniffled it back. She didn’t want her father to see how weak he wanted her to be, just because he was her father.

"Allison, you need to help ," Mr. Quinn repeated, his face filled with terror as if he’d just seen a ghost.

"Did you hear that mother? He only ca here because he wanted so help. Not because he regrets leaving us for almost three years."

Mr. Quinn clapped his hands together in a pleading gesture, tears rolling down his eyes. "I’m so sorry, Allison. I didn’t know what I was thinking. The pressure was too much and leaving was all I could think of at that mont. I’m sorry," he cried. Unfortunately for him, those tears didn’t work on Allison as she stared at her father coldly. "I need so money."

As soon as those words left his lips, he heard a scoff coming from Allison herself.

However, he continued.

"I borrowed money from so people, but I can’t pay back. They’ve been after , asking for the money but I don’t have it. They’re dangerous people, Allison. If I don’t pay them back imdiately, they will kill ."

Allison couldn’t believe her ears. She glanced at her mother and Lily, and they all had the sa expression as her. Baffled.

"Father, so dangerous people are chasing after you because you owe them money, and the best thing you think you should do was co here, leading them here?" Lily questioned.

"I had no choice, they are coming after . If I don’t pay them back the ten million dollars I borrowed, they will kill ." Turning to Allison who’d been quiet since he started pleading, he added, "You have to lend the money, Allison. I know you don’t want dead, right?"

Allison scoffed slightly more coldly this ti around, hoping deep down that her father must be joking.

’He borrowed 10 million dollars and squandered it in less than three years?’ She wondered with a deep frown etched on her eyebrows.

"Look at this house, just look at this house. Does it look like there’s a ten-million-dollar tree growing in here that I can just pluck out and give to you?!" She nearly yelled at him.

She was suddenly regretting coming back ho. If she’d known, she could have stayed in Kace’s ho.

Kace.

Thinking about him just reminded her of how he almost kissed her in his car.

Allison tore her gaze from her father, hoping she could get Kace out of her thoughts. This wasn’t the ti to be thinking such.

The person who’d been the reason she had to sleep with Derek if only he’d just been man enough to take care of his family like every head of a family should do was before her. And she resisted the urge to slap him hard against the cheek. She reminded herself he was her father, soone she should respect, however, he’s lost that respect.

"You’ve co to the wrong place father, you need to leave," she said coldly, while Mr. Quinn’s eyes widened as if he’d been forsaken. "When you left us to fend for ourselves, you didn’t bat an eyelash. Because of you, I had to do things I didn’t want to do. I had to take care of this family all by myself, and you dare to co here and ask for ten million dollars as if you gave the money to keep for you." Her tone was so sharp, it could cut through a piece of wood.

Allison glared at her father, reminding him she wasn’t the sa twenty-year-old he’d left behind to shoulder the burdens of her family.

The very day he left them, she’d promised herself she wouldn’t have anything to want to do to him if he ever returned. And she was going to fulfill that promise, even if it was seen as a wrong thing to do. He was the first to discard them all, she was simply following in his footsteps.

"Allison, you can’t do this to ! Do you want to die?" Mr. Quinn asked, his shoulders shaking from tearing up so much already.

"If you want to die, do it outside. Don’t die in my house," she replied so coldly Mr Quinn’s eyes widened in disbelief, finally realizing that she wasn’t going to give him anything.

Mr. Quinn stopped his crying, his whole expression changing to sothing evil which had Allison take a few steps away from him.

"So this is it? I co to you for help and you don’t help ?" He questioned.

"You’re forgetting you don’t have the right to co to for help anymore. Why? Are you hurt? You finally know how it feels right? Maybe in your next life, you should consider being more manly to take care of your responsibilities and not run away from them. Leave."

Mr Quinn stood up from the ground with gritted teeth and marched toward the door. Suddenly, he halted.

"You’re going to regret this Allison. I’ll make sure you do."

Without looking back at them, he left the house.
