"For once, I thought you might use your brain," Xavier said with a sneer. "But I forgot—you’ve got nothing up there." He strode toward Richard with calm precision before landing one final punch to his jaw, sending him completely unconscious. Xavier stood over him, his eyes cold, as the room settled into an eerie silence.
Everything had happened so fast. Tracie had wanted to hit Richard, but Xavier ca out of nowhere and delivered the last punch.
Jeffrey imdiately called for his n and had them take Richard out of the room.
Mr and Mrs Wallace couldn’t scold Xavier for what he’d done. Although they didn’t witness the whole thing, they’d seen enough to know that Richard had gone too far with his lousy mouth.
Mrs. Wallace sighed, rembering she’d warned Richard not to cause a scene at the Clark mansion, but once he arrived at the mansion, he didn’t waste a single second and blurted out a stupid statent, knowing Xavier could beat him up anyti without caring if he was his brother.
Xavier checked up on Anastasia, and when she told him Richard had hit her in the stomach, he gritted his teeth in anger, imdiately regretting not giving him a better beating before he passed out.
"Anastasia," Mrs. Wallace called as she walked towards her. Placing her hand on Anastasia’s, she continued. "I’m deeply sorry for the scene Richard has cursed today. Please forgive us."
"It’s okay, mother. I just hope one day he will be able to think clearly," Anastasia responded.
Anastasia didn’t have anything against her in-laws. The only problem she had was Richard, and the man had clearly proven he would always have a problem with her. And no matter their location, he would always try to humiliate her and belittle her with every chance he got.
He still doesn’t want to digest the fact that Anastasia had grown stronger and she wanted nothing to do with him anymore.
"I think it’s ti for you to head ho Mother," Xavier said, his tone irritated and everyone knew why. "Father..." Xavier called and the middle-aged man nodded in understanding.
Richard had already caused a scene, and the current mood in the room was disappointing although his presence was no more.
Turning to Jeffrey, he said, "I’m glad we were able to settle everything, Jeffrey. Once again, I’m still deeply sorry for what happened in the past."
"It’s not a problem, Thomas," Jeffrey responded.
Mr Wallace pulled his wife away and the rest of the Clark family escorted them out of the mansion.
"That was so fight!" Kael exclaid. Facing Xavier whose hands were holding Anastasia protectively on the waist, he added, "How were you able to move that fast? Can you teach so moves?"
Tracie slapped him against his head. "Can’t you see standing here? Why not ask instead?"
"No way! Do you know where I landed when you set yourself free? You didn’t even take pity on knowing that I’m not even half as strong as you," he mumbled.
"I’ve told you several tis to start working out, but do you ever listen to ?" Tracie questioned. "Don’t make hit you the way I was planning on hitting that bastard just earlier," she threatened.
"Oookay, you kids had better calm down," Nora warned.
Kael glared at Tracie while he hid behind Ezekiel for protection.
Nora took Anastasia from Xavier’s hold to help her apply ice where Richard had hit her.
"Hey, you don’t need to keep looking all the ti. Mum is not gonna swallow her whole you know," Tracie said to Xavier, which earned her a frown from Xavier. When Xavier didn’t respond to her, she sighed. "I want to speak with you."
Xavier shot her a questionable glance. However, they excused themselves from the others.
"What do you want to say?" He questioned her as soon as they reached the garden.
"First of all, when Anastasia was cutting off Richard’s fingers, why didn’t you take the knife from her and stab him in the throat instead?" She asked. Xavier frowned at her. "I overheard their conversation before I attacked him. He’s such a jerk."
"Tell sothing I don’t know yet, Tracie."
Tracie ended up sighing.
"I want to and my relationship with my sister," she finally said, and a slow grin stretched on Xavier’s lips. "I miss her, and I want to be by her side."
"I knew you would co around. You were just putting up an act as if you were all big and tough."
"Shut up!" Tracie snapped, glaring at Xavier who still had the grin on his lips. "She has been through a lot, and I thought I would be happy if I succeeded in making her hate . That’s why I acted that way towards her."
Xavier crossed his arms around his chest as he studied Tracie.
"I’m glad you’ve realized that your plan was stupid," he said with a long sigh. "Anastasia has never had a real sister before, and I’m hoping you will be a good one to her, Tracie."
"You don’t have to tell that. I love her and want to protect her, especially from that bastard brother of yours. Argh—he still makes my blood boil even after so many years," she groaned as she waved her fist around to release the tension in them.
"She’s inside and if you want to, hug her. I’m sure she would love that," Xavier suggested.
Tracie went silent, considering that suggestion.
In the blink of an eye, a knife was pressed against Xavier’s throat. His breath caught, and he glanced at Tracie, his eyes wide with shock.
"I’m going to settle things between and Anastasia, and you’re very much aware that I love her, right?" She asked but Xavier still kept silent, his eyes on the cold tal that had already made contact with his neck.
"If you hurt Anastasia even in the slightest way, I will slit your throat, Xavier. That’s a promise," she promised, eyes narrowed as she studied his expression.
"You have nothing to worry about. I love Anastasia with my life and I will protect her no matter what. It’s not sothing you need to remind ," he responded.
Tracie studied him for a second longer before she took the knife away from his neck.
"That’s good."
Xavier glared at Tracie as a glint of fear passed through his eyes.
Tracie was a very slick assassin, and for the first ti in his life, he was worried for his life.
