Xavier stepped out of the car. Imdiately, cara lights flashed around him, while the shutter sounds nearly created an earthquake.

Seeing him at the award show, so fans and press already knew whom he was going to open the car door for.

They got their caras ready, anticipating the beauty that would step down from the car.

First, Selene’s white, glassy heels touched the ground, marking her entrance with elegance. Xavier extended his hand, which she accepted gracefully as she erged from the car, her angelic face illuminating the caras with its radiant charm.

Selene barely had ti to blink before the cara flashes enveloped them both. Her presence was captivating, with her red dress exuding a blend of seduction and regal elegance. She maintained a minimalist look, and from a distance, one might assu she wore no makeup at all.

"Who do you think is going to win the best actress category?" A reporter asked her.

"Michelle has won it three tis in a row, do you think you have a chance to take a trophy ho with you today, Selene Jones?" Another added.

Selene stared at the cara, her hand still linked with Xavier’s. She smiled, her eyes forming like a crescent moon before she responded, "May the best actress win."

She didn’t give any detail as to what she ant since it was self-explanatory. She didn’t know if she was going to win, or if Michelle was winning, or winter Augusta. Her bet was on nobody, but may the best actress win.

Selene strode in with Xavier, ignoring the confused expressions of the reporters. Her reply left them wondering exactly what she ant.

As they entered the grand hall, Selene let out a deep sigh. This was the second largest event she had attended since old Wallace’s birthday party, and the familiar pang of anxiety resurfaced. Noticing her unease, Xavier tightened his grip on her delicate hand, offering silent reassurance.

"You are going to do well, my love. You are not leaving here without an award," he promised.

Selene stared at him with a shot-up eyebrow.

"You know, you’ve been saying that almost all the ti, and now I can’t help but wonder if you’re planning sothing to help win."

"If you want, I can do sothing right now and the announcent of the winner will be in your favor." He stared at her, ready to make a call.

He didn’t care if Michelle had been winning. This was Selene’s year, and he wanted her to win.

"Don’t! That would be cheating."

"It isn’t if the award is going to the rightful owner," he replied.

Selene gave him a side eye, hoping he wouldn’t do anything to rigg the award show. Whether or not she won, it didn’t matter to her. But deep down, Selene knew she wanted to win.

The couple went to look for their seats which had their nas on them while the crowd’s gaze was settled on them.

The n ogled at Selene, while the won drooled at the sight of Xavier—each of them all feeling jealousy at how perfect they looked together. The award show would mark their first public appearance, which only proved they were indeed a couple.

Selene was promptly summoned by Yna for a discussion, giving the judges and businessn at the award show an opportunity to approach Xavier Wallace with potential partnership proposals.

"First of all, I have to say, you look absolutely dazzling in that red dress," Yna complinted as they began their conversation. Yna’s hair and makeup had been expertly done by Natalie and Allison, who had co to her ho earlier to prepare her for the evening.

"Thank you," Selene blushed.

"Alright, the award show would start in about half an hour. Producer Maxine wants to talk with you, then after that, director Pablo wants to talk with you. This is a very good chance for you to get movie offers from them."

The people Yna had ntioned were alpha producers and directors in the acting industry. It was truly an honor for Selene if they wanted to give her a movie offer.

Shadows Of Deception was close to finishing, but Selene wasn’t sure if she was going to continue her acting career. Jack had been stealing money from the company almost every week for the past two weeks, and Robert was still sick for an unknown reason.

According to Leo, Robert ca to work late and left early.

She wanted to handle whatever the issue was over there once Shadows Of Deception ended.

"Don’t worry, I will be right behind you if you need help conversing," Yna urged.

Selene and Yna walked towards the producer and director, but they were sward with people.

"Maybe we will talk later," Selene suggested while Yna nodded.

"Once the award show is over, I will send you a text," said Yna. She gave Selene a friendly hug before she departed. Selene stared at the crowd of people. So of their faces she knew, while others she didn’t.

"This is going to be a long night," she muttered.

Just when she was about to leave, she heard soone say sothing from behind her. She recognized that voice.

"Are you ready to lose today, Selene?"

Selene turned back to find Michelle, dressed in a similar red dress as hers, but Michelle’s ca with a different design, giving her a deep V-neck that exposed partly of her cleavage.

"So confident. Are you sure you aren’t the one who will be losing tonight, Michelle?" Selene questioned her back, a confident smile on her lips.

"I’ve carried this award for years now. It’s obvious I’m still the queen of the entertainnt industry."

Selene humd, giving what Michelle said a thought.

"You are right! But then, we can’t be too sure about that now, can we? Given how many scandals your rotten personality had gotten you into, there’s a low chance you would win, don’t you think, Michelle? In case you need a reminder, you’ve lost half of your fanbase, hmm?"
