After spending nearly two hours in the air on the aircraft, A Zang held the gear lever steady with both hands, gradually beginning to lower the flight altitude.
A few minutes later, the flying car landed in front of a hotel covered in green plants.
Several similar flying cars were already parked in the open space in front of the hotel, clearly so settlent leaders had arrived earlier than them.
Lu Bai did not act too high-profile, waiting until Big Biao Ge opened the door and got out first before he followed and jumped down from the aircraft.
Two middle-aged n with scruffy beards were squatting at the hotel entrance, sharing a smoke.
They noticed the newly arrived Lu Bai and others, giving a perfunctory nod of acknowledgnt.
Incidentally, although the master had not explicitly forbidden those below from forming cliques, out of loyalty to the master, the settlents in each of the nine locations actually had an unspoken understanding of no deep connections.
There was even less to speak of in terms of friendship between the settlent leaders; it was limited to knowing each other’s nas.
Big Biao Ge gave a simple response, without even slowing his steps, leading the way into the hotel.
Walking in the hotel main hall, one could see the settlent leaders who had arrived early along with the henchn they brought, almost all sitting on the sofas in the main hall.
Big Biao Ge did not want to stand out too much, and under his lead, the group of four silently found an empty spot and sat down.
“How do you feel?”
After sitting quietly for a while, Big Biao Ge lowered his voice and asked Lu Bai at his side.
Lu Bai was noncommittal about this, smiling on his face, looking very casual: “When will that master arrive?”
“Generally, the master only appears when the rally ti arrives.”
Big Biao Ge had no intention of concealing anything, he looked around and added: “It won’t be long.”
No matter what their true thoughts were inside, the submissive posture shown by these settlent leaders was at least beyond reproach.
There were still more than three hours until the set rally ti, yet the settlent leaders from the nine locations had already all arrived.
Each settlent leader brought two or three henchn, making the hotel main hall quite lively.
However, even though everyone was present, the master still had no intention of starting the rally early.
The people present could only silently wait for the rally ti to arrive; even if bored, they would at most go out for a smoke, not daring to leave too far.
Lu Bai chuckled lightly: “Quite the spectacle.”
After saying this, he simply lay his entire back on the sofa, closing his eyes to rest.
In a situation of idle waiting, ti felt like it passed very slowly, but no matter how slow, it would eventually pass completely.
After entering the set rally ti, without letting these settlent leaders continue waiting foolishly, a man dressed as a server walked out from the back door and said loudly: “Thank you for your hard work, everyone. The master is waiting for you in the restaurant.”
The settlent leaders present could no longer sit still, all hurriedly standing up; those with thicker skin even said to the server that he was the one who had worked hard.
Without daring to dawdle, the crowd quickly headed toward the restaurant.
The solid wood double doors of the restaurant were pushed open, and Lu Bai, mixed in the crowd, imdiately noticed the man sitting in the middle of the long rectangular dining table.
The master was wearing a left-lapel white robe, with visibly poor texture, like he had casually torn a piece of curtain and wrapped it around himself.
Lu Bai had heard from Big Biao Ge that the master always had a different appearance each ti he t them, clearly not the master’s real look.
The master smiled and gestured with his hand: “Everyone co over and sit, we’ll eat and talk.”
The long rectangular dining table was already laden with sumptuous dishes, making one’s mouth water.
Since it was the master’s order, the settlent leaders present could only comply, taking their seats one after another.
There clearly weren’t enough seats, so the henchn could only stand behind their own settlent leaders.
Once everyone was seated, the master picked up a goblet, took a sip of the liquid inside, and said: “Sorry to keep everyone waiting, have sothing to eat first to tide you over.”
“Thank you for the master’s grace.”
“May we be with the master.”
“Master, your generosity shas , not only granting us our daily food…”
After a string of flattery, the settlent leaders present dared to touch their chopsticks, but they only took small tastes.
After symbolically going through three rounds of drinks and five flavors of dishes.
The master put down his chopsticks and said indifferently: “One of you has betrayed .”
Hearing this, Big Biao Ge was startled, his heart feeling as if it had been gripped tightly.
Lu Bai showed no emotional fluctuation; after all, the purpose of his attending the rally destined that he could not remain stable forever.
The master looked down at the food tray in front of him and continued: “If you step forward now voluntarily, I can let it go.”
Invisible pressure lingered over the dining table; soone unable to bear it knelt down toward the master with a thud, sobbing bitterly.
“Please forgive , I was bewitched and embezzled the food you granted.”
“If you were short on supplies, you could have told ; no need to do such a thing.”
The master stood up and walked over, stroking the man’s head: “In the future, the supplies allocated to your settlent will be cut in half; those children facing hunger, send them together during the next tribute, any problem?”
“Yes, yes. Thank you, master; your tolerance shas .” That settlent leader didn’t expect to pick up his life, imdiately beaming with joy.
Before the words finished, that settlent leader’s head abruptly detached from his neck, blood spraying two ters high.
The master said to the headless corpse: “Be grateful for my grace.”
Seeing this scene, Lu Bai suddenly didn’t want to wait any longer.
And that’s exactly what he did.
Canceling the hidden title effect, endless killing intent emanated from all around him.
Lu Bai stepped out from the crowd, with a hint of sigh: “Living in a muddle, dying in an absurd codic way—do you think this is grace?”
The master looked at Lu Bai in surprise.
Suddenly, he seed to sense sothing from Lu Bai’s aura, his smile becoming sowhat stiff.
The master did not act directly, instead adopting a posture of reasoning: “Even without us, do you think they would live well? The vast majority of humanity are just lambs; there will always be others to control them, just changing to thods of violence or ideology.
Resistance? They won’t think of it, have no ability to think, and those who control them won’t allow them to think; the lambs just need to divert their excess energy to things like religion, entertainnt, drugs, and the like.”
The master lazily sat back in his position, looking like he was surrendering without a fight, completely giving up the idea of resistance.
He even had the mood to pick up a bean with his chopsticks and chew it in his mouth.
After swallowing, he stared straight at Lu Bai, expressionless, and added.
“You’re not sympathizing with the lambs, are you? Don’t be so naive, or I’ll feel it’s embarrassing to lose to you. You can’t sympathize with them; they can’t understand why you, as a fellow human, would sympathize with them.”
