Lu Bai didn’t reply, maintaining the amiable smile on his face, nodding slightly to signal Chang Tiger to continue explaining his purpose.

This was the first ti he had seen a death fighter who boldly ca over and openly declared his identity.

It was either a brain fart or he had enough confidence in himself.

“You’re not a rogue cultivator, right? Since you ca from deathmatch school, how exactly did your teacher train you? To let you wear a title so early?”

Chang Tiger didn’t hide his curiosity at all.

Lu Bai sized up Chang Tiger, noting his bronze skin tone and slightly rugged features, giving off an overall aggressive vibe.

He tilted his head: “Why hide it?”

“You probably think obtaining a title in the first round is impressive.”

Chang Tiger felt the hospital gown on him wasn’t fitting well, so he simply undid the two buttons at his chest.

He looked up at the four erald green large characters suspended above Lu Bai’s head: “But that’s not worth showing off. I have two such titles.”

As he said the latter half of the sentence, he shifted his gaze back to Lu Bai’s face and grinned: “So you better watch out. I’ll be keeping an eye on you. Don’t get caught alone.”

“Oh, you ranked first in your first deathmatch duel.”

Lu Bai’s mild expression showed no change.

Chang Tiger continued: “I was originally planning to co straight to you, but the police arrived too quickly. Otherwise, we could have had so fun.”

It was obvious that Chang Tiger had been trying to pressure Lu Bai with words, but with minimal effect.

He also realized this and added: “I heard from these witnesses that you have a partner, a pretty boy with decent skills?”

He thought this would provoke the other, but Lu Bai didn’t react as he had anticipated.

Lu Bai seemingly casually countered.

“No wonder your hospital gown doesn’t fit well. If you just arrived on this floor not long ago, then the patients in the hospital room behind you should all have been killed by you, right?”

As he spoke, he pulled out his identification.

He suddenly roared: “Hands on head and squat down imdiately! I suspect you are involved in this major criminal case. You have the right to silence. If you do not remain silent, everything you say will be used as evidence in court!”

Lu Bai’s voice was very loud.

It instantly attracted the attention of everyone present.

Not to ntion Pu Guangrong who rushed out of the hospital room first, even the patients and their families stretched their necks to look over.

And the police officers in the corridor, who were already on high alert, imdiately sward over at the movent on his side.

Such a major public safety incident hadn’t caught a single suspect yet.

“You only know how to play these tricks?” Chang Tiger was sowhat amused and annoyed.

But he didn’t lose his reason, quickly retreating into the hospital room and locking the hospital room door.

During this process, Lu Bai habitually raised his right hand, then forcibly held back.

One Xu Qiang was troubleso enough to brush off.

With so many people watching now, pulling out Long Fang out of thin air and being seen by so many would be really hard to explain.

Hiding in the hospital room would just be like a turtle in a jar. This was the sixth floor; that guy wouldn’t jump out the window directly, would he?

Several police officers rushed to Lu Bai’s side, banging on the house door loudly.

“Open up! Open up!!!”

“I advise you not to resist stubbornly!”

“Open the door quick! Don’t hide inside without making a sound!”

Pu Guangrong also hurried to Lu Bai’s side.

He glanced at the hospital room door, then at Lu Bai, frowning: “Team Leader Lu, what happened?”

“No big deal. There’s a suspicious man wearing a hospital gown. As far as I rember, there were only two old n in this hospital room.”

Lu Bai simply described the situation.

But Pu Guangrong didn’t know the details, so he leaned in and asked in a low voice: “Parasitic organism?”

Lu Bai pondered for two seconds and said: “Probably.”

Getting the affirmative response, Pu Guangrong pushed aside the police officers blocking the entrance and slamd his shoulder heavily against the house door twice.

Realizing the door was of good quality, he imdiately turned his head and shouted loudly: “Get the door ram!”

……

Crash~

The house door was smashed with a bowl-sized hole.

Pu Guangrong squatted down, took a peek, confird no danger, then reached in a hand and quickly unlocked the door lock.

Kicking open the house door, Pu Guangrong drew his pistol and held it in hand, carefully edging along the wall.

Lu Bai wasn’t as vigilant as Officer Pu, walking into the hospital room as if strolling, imdiately noticing the violently destroyed blinds.

“He really jumped?”

He quickly went to the window, stuck his head out and looked around twice; Chang Tiger’s figure was nowhere to be seen.

This was absurd.

The walls of the inpatient departnt were very smooth, unlike normal residential buildings with awnings, security nets, and AC outdoor units as footholds.

Jumping down from such a high position on the sixth floor, even Lu Bai wouldn’t guarantee he could survive.

After all, Flash Ti couldn’t slow his falling speed.

“Utterly mad.”

Pu Guangrong saw the two elderly corpses in the hospital room, his heart sinking.

He walked over, squatted down, and briefly checked them.

The corpses still had so residual warmth, clearly not dead for long.

The two corpses were neatly stacked in the corner by the door, and one corpse’s hospital gown had even been stripped off. These details showed the murderer had strong ntal fortitude.

“Team Leader Lu, could you trouble you to describe the murderer’s appearance?” Pu Guangrong turned and asked.

When they responded to the call, they naturally brought a forensic sketch technician.

“You think a guy who can jump straight down from the sixth floor is normal?”

Lu Bai didn’t answer directly, but the implication was clear: you guys stay out of this.

At the sa ti.

Ding dong~

The elevator door on the sixth floor opened again.

Xu Qiang finally arrived with the Special Affairs Bureau’s field personnel.

He looked straight ahead and started with the usual line: “I’m Xu Qiang from the Special Affairs Bureau. This case involves a parasitic organism. Please hand over the scene to the Special Affairs Bureau.”

……

Early morning.

Breakfast stall at the hospital entrance.

Lu Bai took a sip of congee, then looked at Xu Qiang sitting across from him.

Bureau Chief Xu held a fried dough stick in his hand but didn’t bite into it.

“What’s wrong? Wasn’t this a situation we anticipated?” Lu Bai teased with a smile.

The reason Xu Qiang was in a bad mood was that Pu Guangrong hadn’t withdrawn his team.

It wasn’t that the veteran detective wasn’t giving face; it was purely because higher-ups had given prior instructions.

Saying that the parasitic organism matter no longer needed secrecy, and for efficiency, they hoped the Special Affairs Bureau could jointly handle cases with the police in the future.

Xu Qiang stared at the fried dough stick in his hand, his brow furrowed deeply.

“What do you think the mayor is playing at with this move?”
