Chapter 42 - Through the Ca-Ca Chimney

I needed to experint with this since the infinite food-spawning glitch was a life-changing opportunity. I took the sealed wine jar and asked Lia,

"Do you have a hamr or sothing blunt so that I can work on this?"

"Are you going to break that?" Lia pouted. "But there is wine in there."

Lenitia coughed and pointed at the floor. "I am sorry to interrupt you two, but this is my room. Please clean up the ss you made before you do sothing stupid. I also don’t want my room to reek of ale."

"..."

Lia and I looked at each other. Our expressions turned dark.

.

Because of Lenitia’s interference, we ordered the guards to bring us mops and buckets to clean up the ss. We postponed the experintal plan for another date.

After the cleanup and a brief discussion, Lenitia agreed that this place was no longer safe due to Troturre’s presence and influence. She would discuss the details of her future plans tomorrow. As for , she promised to introduce to pottery artisans later.

Because I couldn’t sleep in the sa room as Lenitia, she allocated a guest room on the third floor of the citadel, the sa floor as Lenitia and Lia’s rooms. However, a new problem arose. Troturre’s n sealed the rooms. When I arrived there, knights blocked the path and chased away.

"Please use the servant room for the ti being. We’re using these rooms as backup store houses."

In short, these assholes stored so treasures or food in there, and they didn’t want us to know.

Without a choice, I followed the guards to the available room. I also brought Cow-Cow with , keeping him away from the won.

The guest room was a shoebox, much smaller than Lenitia’s room, and it looked rough. There was a wooden bed fra without a bunk bed or anything to sleep on. Aside from the bed fra, no other furniture existed.

I inspected the walls. As I had seen in docuntary videos, there was a toilet hole in the wall, big enough for to sit on or climb into. The stench from the hole filled the room.

No wonder the plague hit hard. Cholera also sent its regards.

Cow-Cow instantly jumped out of my cloth and sat on the toilet hole.

"CAAA! SHIT!"

"Exactly."

"CAAA! FUN!"

"No, bad bird. Don’t play with shit."

Cow-Cow lowered his head and hopped to the corner of the room. He sat while staring at the wall.

Are you sulking, my dude?

I placed a leftover dumpling next to him and tried lying on the bed.

The wooden bed fra cracked and broke in half on the spot.

Man, this place was dirtier than Studium’s outhouse. I had to find an excuse to move out.

.

It was nightti. I was in the middle of a dream when a loud knock on the door distracted . I opened my eyes and sat up. My hand grabbed a common-grade sword that Lenitia had returned to .

A soldier burst the door open with a sword drawn. Before I could even adjust my eyesight and bearings, a sword tip had already pressed against my neck.

Two more soldiers entered the room. One of them was a knight in black armor, and the other guy was the old fox Troturre.

"Bring him to the dungeon."

The words jolted awake. A hundred thoughts flashed through my mind. Although I was still in a daze, I knew I would be as good as dead if they brought to prison.

"COW-COW!!" I shouted, alerting my buddy.

"CAAAA!!"

Cow-Cow also jumped up. His feathers turned red, and a fla explosion followed.

"W-What?!"

Troturre threw his arms up to shield his face, then leapt out of the room. As for the two soldiers with him, they were ignited on fire. Their screams echoed in the tiny room.

While the fire distracted Troturre, I grabbed Cow-Cow and my sword.

Troturre was two levels above , and his abilities were better suited for indoor combat. Fighting him here wouldn’t be the right choice. But if I rushed out through the front door, his musou attack would end instantly.

I turned to the number two hole and peeked inside. It was about an arm’s length wide, suitable for discarding a body. However, this was the third floor of the citadel, about five ters high. I might break my legs jumping down... or die.

"BASTARD!"

While I hesitated, Troturre bellowed and exuded musou aura, reminding of my limited ti.

"Ah, shit. Another gamble."

I hugged Cow-Cow and prayed to him.

"Buddy, give luck. I’ll need it... now."

I jumped into the shitter chimney and stretched my arms and legs. My nails sought the edges and corners of bricks, but the mold and oily substances on the chimney’s interior walls made it too slippery. Despite pushing my feet, legs, knees, arms, and hands against the wall to slow down, my descent didn’t appear to be getting any slower.

In seconds, I reached the bottom of the chimney. It slightly slanted outward like a slider, softening the impact a little. My butt hit the bottom slope, and the slide propelled outside the citadel. Despite that, my pelvic region felt unusual. My tailbone might be broken, or my spinal cord could be dislocated.

I tumbled onto the ground. When the montum ended, I gritted my teeth and pushed my body up in a hurry, but I couldn’t feel my legs.

Cow-Cow was still a walking fireball chicken. He jumped onto my body and emitted fla as though he was trying to cook alive.

I accepted my buddy’s gesture. I took a deep breath to calm down even though the ground was full of dry ca-ca. As I concentrated, the fla seeped through my skin and nourished . The pain eased a little, and I could move my legs again.

However, as I checked my legs, I saw my kneecap protruding through my skin. My left ankle was twisted. They didn’t hurt, but I was still not in perfect condition.

I pushed myself off the disgusting ground. Then, I checked the back of the citadel, where I had fallen. I saw no windows. That ant nobody could see , except Troturre, who might have been able to sense my presence through the walls.

The danger wasn’t over yet. If Troturre behaved like the ga story, he would fra for sothing stupid and make a criminal to discredit . Then, he would attempt to turn Lenitia into a hostage, which he would ultimately fail because the other main characters in the town area would defeat him and rescued the heroines.

There was no ti for to be concerned about the main characters. They would play out according to the ga story since I had barely touched or diverted the storyline.

I looked around to identify my location in the fortress.

The cholera-filled area wasn’t in my mory. This place was at the southernmost part of the fortress, away from the battle stage areas. Behind was the desolate wall, which faced the inner territory of Constantia.

I looked up. I didn’t see any patrols on the wall-walk.

This was my opportunity to flee. I grabbed my broken legs and pushed myself up the stairs, where I could reach the top of the exterior walls.
