Imdiately the team mbers reported to Quan Shaoteng.
“The hospital is evacuating.”
“The fire engine has arrived at the hospital...”
“The access route for the firefighters is being blocked, d*mn it.”
Interesting.
The access route got blocked as soon as there was a fire.
“Captain Quan, the fire’s spreading. Do we have to join in the rescue efforts?”
A team mber asked anxiously.
But he got berated by Quan Shaoteng instead.
“Firefighting will be taken care of the firefighters! One of you stay behind to observe the situation! Wei Bin, lead the rest out of the hospital!”
“Yes!”
...
i Xin had been waiting nervously.
When she saw Quan Shaoteng entering the ward, she imdiately asked a question. “Do we need to evacuate?”
“Wait for further orders!”
This would really depend on how bad the fire would be, as well as how the firefighters would handle the situation...
Quan Shaoteng watched the billowing smoke mixed with flas outside the window. After that, he noticed several dical staff running over in a hurry.
“Attention everyone! Prepare to evacuate the patients!”
“We received notice that everyone has to evacuate from the hospital...”
Their shouts instantly caused panic in the patients and staff on that entire floor.
This hospital was very popular amongst the civilians. Hence, besides the dical staff and patients, there were also so family mbers and specially employed care workers... Heads poked out of the wards to check out what was going on when the dical staff shouted for everyone to evacuate. They had heard the siren of the fire engine earlier and they also bore the sa thought that i Xin had asked Quan Shaoteng earlier.
Should they evacuate?
Evacuating patients was the most troubleso.
Patients on that floor were generally people who had more serious cases of illness. Without the go-ahead of the attending doctor or nurse, nobody dared to move them out.
Now, everyone started to get nervous.
Soone along the corridor asked, “Our building is not on fire. Why do we still need to evacuate?”
The dical staff responded quickly, “We’re worried that the fire might spread!”
“It’s quite a distance away,” remarked another, “it can’t spread here in such a short ti.”
The dical staff persuaded, “All of you are not afraid that the fire might really spread? Hurry up and don’t waste any more ti!”
When a fire broke out, people were generally worried. When the dical staff shouted to get everyone to evacuate, who would dare to stay behind? In almost an instant, everyone frantically picked their important things and started to move out of their wards. With the help and guidance of the dical staff, everyone started to make their way down in an orderly fashion.
Quan Shaoteng gritted his teeth. “This is really ‘aweso’!”
i Xin’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. “What should we do?”
Before Quan Shaoteng could answer her, a nurse ca over to them. “Why are you both still in a daze? Hurry up and help evacuate the patient downstairs...”
After that, the nurse left.
Only the departnt head and above knew about Quan Shaoteng and i Xin’s real identity. Ordinary dical staff only knew that they were their new colleagues. Moreover, that ward was personally handled by their Departnt Head, Director Ye.
In the eyes of others, the patient in this ward should be soone “special”. The police were the ones who sent them this special patient. They heard that she should be the murderer behind the recent ‘zombie’ cases. She was in a critical condition and only woke up two days ago. Director Ye specially ordered that besides the personnel he had assigned to the ward, nobody could approach the patient without his approval.
Of course, they wouldn’t dare and wouldn’t want to get near either.
Who would want to go near to a ‘murderer’?
Hence, no one else knew about the actual condition of the patient.
But now that a fire broke up, if they evacuate Cui Jiaying, wouldn’t that an their lie would be exposed?
Cui Jiaying had not woken up at all. She was kept alive by life support this entire ti. How was it possible for her to move and evacuate normally like a person who was already awake?
i Xin started to beco anxious. “What should we do? Say sothing!”
Quan Shaoteng snorted, “Easy!”
i Xin looked at him in confusion.
Her face was filled with questions but Quan Shaoteng didn’t want to waste ti explaining. He quickly pushed her inside the ward and gave her a set of patient clothes. “Change into this!”
i Xin: “Ah?”
She held the patient clothes with a puzzled expression.
“Since they sent a fake Xuan Yue to toy around with us,” said Quan Shaoteng, “can’t we fool them with a fake Cui Jiaying?”
At this ti, Bai Muchuan was still on the way to the hospital and everyone was evacuating the hospital due to the fire. If they didn’t do anything, it was too easy to arouse suspicions.
But... how should they evacuate?
This was what Quan Shaoteng had co up with.
He stared at i Xin. “Hurry up!”
i Xin took a glance at him and hugged the clothes to her chest. “You should go out while I change!”
Quan Shaoteng: “...”
“What are you afraid of? You’re wearing clothes underneath. It’s not like you’re not wearing anything inside.” He grunted and walked out quickly, closed the door and observed the situation.
At this mont, the entire building was in the state of evacuation. Sounds of footsteps were everywhere.
Amongst the dispersing crowd, Cheng Zheng and Miao Zichen hurried over to him. “How is it?”
They were not far away when they received news about the fire at the hospital and quickly rushed back.
Quan Shaoteng was glad to see them. “You’ve co at the right ti! Hurry up and get a hospital stretcher!”
A stretcher?
Cheng Zheng and Miao Zichen didn’t really understand what he ant. But this was an ergency situation, so they listened to him.
Quan Shaoteng then knocked on the door of the ward gently. “Done?”
“Co in!” It was i Xin’s voice.
Quan Shaoteng entered the ward. i Xin was ready—she was dressed up as a patient now.
After changing into the set of patient clothing, she also tied up her hair carefully. That pale look of hers really did fit the image of a patient.
Of course, this was not enough.
Quan Shaoteng looked at Cheng Zheng. “Quick, help to make her look like Cui Jiaying! We don’t have much ti. Hurry!”
By saying that, it was now clear to them what Quan Shaoteng wanted to do. Cheng Zheng quickly got i Xin to sit down and quickly helped to bandage i Xin’s head so as to look the sa as Cui Jiaying. Miao Zichen also helped to secure the IV drip on i Xin and carried the drip. After that, i Xin climbed up onto the stretcher and they started to wheel her out.
While Cheng Zheng walked past Quan Shaoteng, he had a montary pause. “What about her?”
He was referring to Cui Jiaying.
Quan Shaoteng sat on a chair. “I’ll guard her! Go quickly!”
Cheng Zheng took a look at Cui Jiaying. “It might not be safe here.”
“Don’t worry,” assured Quan Shaoteng, “the fire’s not in this building. Besides, the firefighters are already here. The fire should be put out in no ti!”
Cheng Zheng: “Fine then!”
“Watch out for danger too!” Quan Shaoteng warned, “you guys might beco the target!”
Cheng Zheng nodded his head and left quickly, leaving Quan Shaoteng alone in the ward.
The latter then ordered several of his team mbers to provide protection to Cheng Zheng’s team. At the sa ti, he urged the rest of the mbers to pay close attention to any suspicious characters.
After that, he looked at Cui Jiaying, who was still in a coma, quietly.
The commotion outside the ward started to die down.
All those that had to be evacuated had gotten out of the hospital.
The whole building was quiet, leaving only dead silence.
Their original plan was to wait and see if anyone would co to that ward...
He hoped that the Dark Clan would really walk into their trap.
