Chapter 1939: Chapter 1825: Temporary Plan
“Boom!” A cloud of black smoke rose from the horizon, and the officers of the Laines Empire set down the binoculars held up to their faces, proudly handing them to the adjutant beside them: “Rebel Empire? The Great Tang Empire hasn’t arrived yet! I want to see just how long these traitors can hold out!”
As he spoke, another explosion sounded from afar, black smoke soared into the sky, and countless ranks of Laines Empire Soldiers had already begun to advance forward.
They were ordered to attack towards Brunas, which had surrendered to the Great Tang Empire, and to completely eliminate the bastards who betrayed the Empire.
Facing the Great Tang Empire’s Military might make the Laines Empire Soldiers sowhat hesitant, but when sent to fight the City Defense Forces, they were truly not afraid.
After all, most countries’ City Defense Forces are similar to ard police, generally having weaker combat strength compared to regular field Troops. Therefore, attacking them with regular forces ans the outco is almost predetermined before the battle even begins.
As the shells fired by the Laines Empire’s heavy artillery exploded one after another on the horizon, the prelude to this offensive was already underway.
Swarms of Laines Empire Soldiers surged towards the distant defensive line, amidst which nurous Tanks rolled on their tracks in dispersed formations.
Regardless of perspective, the coordination between infantry and Tanks in the Laines Empire was far more adept than that of so African nations. Once the formations unfolded, the montum of the attack imdiately beca apparent.
“For His Majesty The Emperor!” The leading Laines Empire platoon leader waved his arms, inspiring the attacking Soldiers. Those soldiers trudging through the fields followed suit, shouting passionately: “Long live the Empire!”
The Laines City Guard stationed on the outskirts of Jade City had just declared their surrender to the Great Tang Empire, not even having ti to change their gear. They rely tied a red armband around their arms to signify their allegiance switch.
Naturally, these forces were still equipped with the Laines Empire’s equipnt, using the Empire’s standard rifles, wearing the Empire’s uniforms, and donning their Steel Helts, at first glance, they still seed like Laines Empire Soldiers.
At this mont, these Laines Empire City Guard had already revolted. They no longer fought for the Laines Empire; instead, they were now fighting desperately for the Great Tang Empire.
But sotis, combat strength cannot be changed just by a change of mind: although the Great Tang Empire was invincible, the combat abilities of other countries’ City Defense Forces that had just surrendered were unreliable.
So when dozens of artillery shells landed and the entire battlefield was shrouded in thick smoke, the original Laines Empire City Guard Soldiers stationed in Jade City wavered.
Many Soldiers dropped their weapons and ran, with so even fleeing while carrying their weapons. A hastily ford defensive line collapsed in an instant, turning the Battle of Jade City into a farce of Laines Empire Army attacking and Jade City garrison retreating.
“Collapsed already? Pathetic!” After witnessing his forces breach the Jade City garrison’s defenses, the Laines Empire General scoffed dismissively.
He was exceedingly proud at that mont because he had completed the first task assigned by Emperor Laines II. Taking Jade City ant he might gain promotions and beco another pillar of support in the Empire’s turbulent tis.
“General! The Jade City Troops are retreating, and they might hide inside the city for street fighting, which could be troubleso.” His officer reported.
The General of Laines nodded and instructed: “Order the Troops to keep pressing them, don’t let them organize an effective attack inside the city.”
“Yes!” His subordinate imdiately responded and went off to relay the order. The cannon fire on the battlefield gradually subsided, suggesting that victory was certain for the Laines Empire.
In rely a day, the periter defenses of Jade City were breached by the Laines Empire Army, and then both sides entered the city.
Imdiately afterwards, the Jade City garrison retreated from the city, withdrawing rapidly along the roads towards Brunas Port, helped by the best rail and road systems on the Eastern Continent.
The attacking Laines Empire Troops didn’t pursue aggressively; after capturing Jade City, they took two days to celebrate lavishly within the city.
…
Tagg had already moved south and set up his command post further south at Hotwind Port. The conditions were evidently better here than at Eternal Winter Port.
In fact, he was planning to head to Osa. Unfortunately, it had only recently been occupied, its security environnt was substandard, and communication facilities were inadequate, so the Supre Command couldn’t be established there just yet.
Exiting the vehicle, Tagg looked fatigued, having had little rest in recent days. The rapidly changing situation kept him cautiously handling ergencies personally, so he hadn’t slept well.
“Long live My Emperor!” High-ranking Generals of the Tang Army stood straight and saluted at the car door, and Tagg gently shook his exquisite Marshal’s baton, acknowledging the salute.
He wore a crisp military uniform adorned with countless dals. Various officials gathered to welco him, lining up for several hundred ters, though most were only allowed to watch from afar.
