Chapter 1930: Chapter 1820: Battle of the School (Part 2)

Aigole shrunk his neck and stopped talking, just held his rifle tightly, his eyes full of tension and vigilance. He followed silently at the back of the troops, as he was new, his coordination with the troops was still very unfamiliar, naturally, he could only follow from the back.

He noticed so scattered bodies lying on the school playground, bodies of Elf Soldiers wearing the sa iron-gray military uniform as his. The air was filled with a nauseating stench of blood and burnt flesh, making one feel like vomiting.

“We are Elves! Don’t shoot!” Kelbu shouted towards the top of the stairs and stopped moving forward. He had just heard sounds from upstairs and confird that soone was there, so he shouted to confirm the other party’s identity.

“We saw you! We noticed you coming in!” A voice replied from upstairs, and soon, an Elf Soldier holding a submachine gun ca down, which made everyone relax a bit.

It seed that this place was still under Elf control. The human forces had infiltrated, and fierce battles broke out between both sides, but the Elves ultimately held the position.

Unlike these defeated and disordered soldiers, the soldiers of the second unit were clearly more organized and disciplined. The Elf Soldier who ca down looked at these dusty soldiers and shook his head, signaling them to follow him.

Kelbu and Aigole followed him to the second floor, where they saw more Elf Soldiers. These second unit soldiers were wearing the sa gray military uniforms, but theirs were newer.

Everyone was busy, so adjusting radios, trying to listen to orders from a higher command—clearly, this was a command post, but it had now beco the frontline.

Others were loading ammunition: they were loading bullets into their machine gun belts, a big task, which also proved that the second unit had so reserve ammunition.

“Which part are you from?” An Elf wearing an officer’s uniform stopped the group, a tall figure with a pistol hanging at the waist.

“From 1st Platoon of Company A, I am their acting platoon leader Kelbu.” Kelbu quickly took a step forward and saluted.

Then he introduced the sowhat bewildered Aigole standing there: “He is from 2nd Platoon of Company C, nad Aigole. Their troops have been scattered with heavy losses and joined us to co over.”

“You’ve worked hard.” The officer nodded, gathering from Kelbu’s introduction, he roughly understood the nearby battle situation. This was very important information, sotis determining the life and death of many people.

Clearly, the adjacent first unit had been completely defeated, and now the situation was dangerous for their second unit. Previously, they had barely repelled the Tang Army’s light infantry probing, and next, they expected the official attack of the Tang Army.

“Hey, soone… get so water for these brothers.” The officer called a passing soldier and made arrangents: “You guys rest for a while, if you rember sothing important, feel free to find … The Tang Army could attack at any ti, and I have other matters to attend to…”

“We hope to replenish so ammunition…” Kelbu hadn’t thought of staying to fight alongside the second unit when he ca, he just wanted to replenish supplies and return to find his own troops.

So he anxiously expressed his intentions: “Sir, and then we will return to our defensive area, perhaps we can hold out a bit longer.”

“Ammunition?” Looking at the few soldiers in front of him, not much different from beggars, the second unit’s commander obviously didn’t intend to give them precious bullets: “We don’t have much ammunition here either… sorry.”

Leaving these soldiers to fight for him was one thing, allowing them to take ammunition away was another. Jokingly, he couldn’t let them leave with ammunition unaccounted for, after all, ammunition more or less equated to life in this situation.

“If you’re willing to stay and help, I’ll welco you and share so bullets…but if you want to leave, I can’t split my unit’s ammunition with you.” The second unit officer straightforwardly clarified.

The few people had no choice, if they went back now, without bullets and no other supplies, they would be finished if they couldn’t find their main force.

So Kelbu thought for a mont and said to the officer: “We will rest and discuss among ourselves first, is that okay?”

“Of course, soone! Find them a room to rest…,” the officer nodded, waved to an old soldier in the distance, and after seeing him co over, made arrangents before going back to his work.

The Tang Army deployed many new weapons in urban warfare, so of which were not in the battle reports, aning the Elves had never seen them. These weapons were incredibly terrifying, causing huge casualties to the Elf Troops.

The officer had just returned to his position when a subordinate ca over, reporting a new piece of information: “The Tang Army has a kind of small plane that crashes into targets and explodes suddenly, probably remotely controlled from a distance, it’s quite accurate…this information ca from the City Defense Forces’ 2nd Division.”

It was apparent that, having never seen a suicide drone, the officer couldn’t imagine what a small plane ant, so he subconsciously asked: “What does a small plane an?”

“The person who brought the ssage described it as about this big.” The subordinate gestured with both hands. The thing was just about a ter or so wide, essentially a remote-controlled plane with a cara.

Seeing the size he gestured, the second unit’s Elf Officer imdiately realized that this thing was quite difficult to deal with: he initially thought hearing “small plane” ant sothing larger, but upon seeing, he understood the terror of this thing.

This thing could practically an dropping a hand grenade right onto a person’s face, highly accurate and quite lethal.

Bombs with eyes, deeply terrifying. If the enemy could indeed control it to directly strike targets, it would surely cause massive casualties to the Elf Troops.

Fortunately, the human forces that infiltrated and attacked yesterday didn’t use similar weapons, or they might not have been able to hold this school.

“Damn it, how do they always co up with these strange gadgets?” The Elf Officer muttered, then considered and ordered: “Alert the soldiers upstairs, if they see anything similar, remind the people around at once…”

“Shoot it down with rifles if possible, if not…interfere with it!” He paused and added: “Set up a machine gun upstairs! Use it as an anti-aircraft gun!”

This was the best solution he could think of. The school was built of reinforced concrete, serving as a natural shelter, allowing them to hold out a while longer. Giving it up ant there wouldn’t be such good buildings nearby to hide in.

“The Tang Army seems to be approaching!” At this mont, a soldier rushed over, reporting the recent situation: “The sentinel said he saw so Tang Army soldiers moving in the buildings across the street.”

“It’s over… it seems the forces in front have been wiped out, this ti it should be the main force.” The Elf Officer’s face darkened, he went into a room facing the Tang Army’s direction, and huddled in an inconspicuous corner by the window, peeking at the situation across the street.

Indeed, there were quite a few Tang Army figures moving there. If he could call for artillery support at this ti, it might have miraculous effects, but unfortunately, he had no way to communicate with the rear, as their communication equipnt had always been non-functional.
