The weather was no longer that cold, but the snow by the roadside hadn’t lted yet. When speaking, white mist still billowed, and going out without wearing thick cotton clothing was still a very painful thing.

Aunt Curley found that Hotwind Port was becoming increasingly bustling, with more humans appearing, and so streets beginning a new round of transformation.

A nice vegetable market had sprung up near their ho, where previous vegetable vendors had moved in. As a result, the streets appeared tidier, and a fine toy shop had opened where vegetables used to be sold.

A group of children would often gather there, pointing at the toys in the shop window. They didn’t really know what those robots represented, but anyone who wasn’t blind could see these toys were undoubtedly fun.

The red robot could transform into a truck, the yellow one into a car. For the children of the Elf, these were uncharted territories.

So children were arguing over which of the robots in the shop was the most powerful. A few older children were convinced in their judgnt: the one that could transform into a Tank was definitely the most powerful, at least much stronger than the one that turned into a truck.

However, the younger children had different opinions. To them, the bigger one must be the strongest; surely the big red one was particularly powerful.

Their argunts were naturally inconclusive. Perhaps a year or two later, when their families had television sets and could access many television programs, they would know about sothing called animation, and one of those animations was called "Transforrs."

This was a mory unique to the children of this era. Years later, when they ntioned these things, they would smile knowingly: how many had argued over whether the Saint Seiya of Androda was male or female?

Curley was very willing to watch these changes in Hotwind Port because she knew both her sons were still alive, so she was now filled with hope for life.

To her, the world was getting better and better; this was clearly felt from the increasing number of cars on the streets.

So humans were holding a nifty little gadget, talking to themselves. Curley once thought these people were crazy; later Charlie told her it was a device for talking, and Curley was utterly amazed by the science and technology of the Great Tang Empire.

It turned out that phones didn’t necessarily need wires; images from thousands of kiloters away could be transmitted right before your eyes, giving a direct view of everything happening afar.

These were things elves couldn’t even dare to imagine, now gradually becoming commonplace. And for those who served these new technologies, life naturally beca more fulfilling and prosperous.

When Curley walked back to the familiar doorstep, she saw a thin figure standing there. She wasn’t worried about evildoers committing cris because, under the administration of the Great Tang Empire, Hotwind Port’s security was indeed very good.

To say you could leave your doors unlocked might be a bit exaggerated, but compared to the past, those annoying thugs and extorting officials had indeed disappeared.

"Who are you looking for?" Curley habitually asked, partly to confirm the other person’s identity and purpose for being here and partly hoping to offer a bit of help within her power.

The figure turned around, one sleeve swinging unnaturally. When she saw that familiar yet sowhat strange face, Curley shivered all over in an instant.

"Mom!" Frank’s eyes filled with unstoppable tears. He dropped the shoulder bag in his hand, rushed forward in two strides, and reached out to embrace his mother tightly.

Curley also hugged her child tightly. It had been so long; she really missed her two sons: "Frank! You finally ca back! You ca back!"

When they parted, Curley noticed Frank’s empty sleeve. Though very sad, she kept nodding: "It’s good you’re back! Being back is a good thing! Everything is over, everything is over. My poor child!"

"I know, don’t worry about , Mom." Frank couldn’t stop his tears either; to him, it seed all too fortuitous.

Even he couldn’t believe he could co out of the POW Camp and then return ho to Hotwind Port: the entire process seed sowhat magical to him.

First, he had to thank the Great Tang Empire for providing correspondence services to all POWs with hos in Hotwind Port. Without this good deed, he wouldn’t even know if his mother and brother Marvin were alive.

Secondly, he had to thank a warm-hearted courier. This courier reported the letters written by the two POWs to Curley to his superiors, allowing the Tang Country military to learn about the mother and her two POW children.

Then, they had to thank the Great Tang Empire for the series of comforting actions which set an example for the elves: Marvin and Frank beca typical examples and role models, their treatnt showed many elf POWs hope, so the Great Tang Empire was willing to provide so assistance to the two POW brothers.

Finally, there was the contribution from Marvin, the younger brother: he agreed to a labor reform exchange sche. He was willing to work for the Great Tang Empire for free for five years in exchange for his elder brother’s imdiate release. He was a good brother, so Frank was imdiately given a pardon and a ticket back to Hotwind Port.

The trains and cars heading south were very busy, but the shipping between Eternal Winter Port, Saint Luo, and Hotwind Port increased, often able to spare so capacity. Transporting these POWs and so cargo was no difficult task for a giant ship.

A series of coincidences and the efforts of many finally brought Frank before Curley. Many POWs witnessed all this, and their internal newspapers reported on the Great Tang Empire’s release of the first batch of POWs, which reassured all the POWs. They were now certain that as long as they worked hard and cooperated with the Great Tang Empire’s arrangents, they too would eventually return ho safely.

"Marvin sacrificed too much for ." Frank told Curley the reason he could return: "I don’t know how to thank him... In my current state, perhaps I’ll never be able to repay him."

"He’s your brother, Frank. He knows what he’s doing." Curley felt proud of her younger son: "Don’t be disheartened. Your brother brought you back, so you must live well for his sake."

"I will live well, Mom." Frank forced a smile: "I’ve already died once, to be honest... I don’t have the courage to face death again."
