This was the first ti Su Ming saw Arabella seriously chanting an incantation. The lengthy incantation could almost fill a promotional leaflet.
The power within her burned like a furnace, and even Su Ming, an outsider, could feel the air around them grow scorching hot. Stranglehold imdiately withdrew into the depths of his body, pressing against the cool X-tal to avoid the heat.
"The last ti I played cards and drank with Lucifer, maybe we had a bit too much, and he taught an ancient spell. According to him, it was sothing he picked up when he fell from the 'Silver City.' After a little hellish modification, even a god hit directly by this spell would be reduced to ashes."
The incantation was complete, and the power was converging. The flas gathered from the plane of Hell were accumulating, and Arabella's task was now finished.
She called upon the power, and so it ca, set to follow its course to annihilate anything that blocked the Hellfire.
So, while pointing a finger at that strange tower, she used her other hand to casually hold her cigarette, talking sleepily to Su Ming.
"I imagine a lot of sorcerers would envy you now—not only can you still use magic, but it's also powerful."
Arabella shook her head, spitting toward the ground behind her. "Actually, it's only because my ti to pay hasn't co yet. The only difference between and them is whether I pay during my life or after."
"Fair enough."
Su Ming was just watching, waiting. He didn't notice the Cloak of Levitation sneak a small corner into his bag, quietly absorbing the gems from a few of the magic wands.
The gems, now devoid of power, turned into fine dust, and then the cloak seed to stretch comfortably before draping limply behind Su Ming once more.
His vision was completely filled with an intense red light. This was the largest-scale magic Su Ming had seen to date.
It wasn't that Arabella's magic was necessarily stronger than the Ancient One's, but the destructive aura, combined with the sheer, simple brute magical force, was simply captivating.
The proximity made it impossible to clearly see the form of the magical torrent, or how long it lasted—he could only feel the heat and flas.
He knew that by the ti the intense light faded from his eyes, the mage's tower in front of them no longer existed, not even the hill remained.
All that was left was a crater resembling the aftermath of a teorite impact, with magma burning at the bottom like a lava pool.
Arabella casually flicked her cigarette butt into the pit—she had just created a hellish baseball field.
"If you said you had a nuclear bomb inside you, I'd believe it."
Su Ming nodded in satisfaction; only magic could so effortlessly destroy a castle situated within a spatial rift.
Of course, he could've done it himself, but he'd have to use the Nightfall Sword to slowly chip away bit by bit.
The sorceress laughed and shook her head. Casting such a large-scale spell made her feel a bit exhausted, though given her usual listless deanor, it seed more like she was craving a drink.
"I think all I have inside are red guts, and ultimately, this destructive power cos from there," she said, pulling a bottle of liquor out of her coat pocket with one hand and pointing at the sky with the other.
"Ah, it's not our business to worry about that one up there. If he doesn't bother us, we won't bother him. Works out nicely," Su Ming said, grabbing Bobo, and they started retracing their steps. "You know Lucifer went missing, right?"
Arabella, carried by Diana, held onto her bottle. "I'm used to it by now. Lucifer disappears once every three days. He's probably off chasing so won again."
"Did you also know Dream is missing?" Su Ming asked, the rushing wind blowing past them, but his voice still clearly reached everyone. Both Bobo and Diana widened their eyes.
Dream was the one among the Endless who interacted the most with humanity. Moreover, the current Lord of Dreams, Daniel, was the son of Hector, the sixth Doctor Fate.
Arabella sighed and shook her head. "Dream once helped Lucifer oversee Hell for a while... My advice is, when it cos to things involving the Endless, it's best not to ddle."
"But if we succeed, the benefits are significant. They may look like people, but they're actually embodints of the rules of the universe. If you gain the recognition of those rules, you know what that ans, right?"
Su Ming enticed her, still needing to find Dream, and Arabella, as a sorceress, was important.
"I'll think about it. I have no interest in finding Lucifer, but Dream..."
The group returned to the Oblivion Bar, and to their surprise, it was packed with people—every corner filled with the hustle and bustle of a loud party atmosphere.
The jazz music from the jukebox had been replaced with DJ dance tracks—only the lights were missing.
Bobo covered his eyes with one hand. He knew it would be like this.
"Is there a party going on?"
Su Ming looked around. It was all young witches, most of them under twenty—basically all "second-generation sorcerers," daughters of well-known spellcasters.
The chimp climbed onto a table, scanning the crowd for Traci. That little demon, she'd organized another party in the bar! The Oblivion Bar was a quiet place, not a nightclub!
And he wasn't dead yet!
"This is a group of witches called the Crafty Sisterhood. Damn it, a lot of their parents are supervillains."
Diana stopped Bobo from calling anyone over, pulling him off the table. "It's not necessary; they're just kids. They shouldn't be punished for their parents' mistakes."
"It's not just kids—so well-known villains co here to teach them magic, and that's not a good thing," Bobo said to Diana. He had previously spotted an agent of Eclipso here.
Originally, the Crafty Sisterhood wasn't planning to et at the Oblivion Bar anymore. They had plenty of safe locations, especially after the tal event when Bobo sided with the Justice League, making this place unsafe for many.
But rebellious Traci had assured them that if Bobo was there when the party started, she'd make sure he got drunk.
The girls thought it was feasible but didn't expect to be caught in the act again this ti.
"Forget it, Bobo. We've got serious business to deal with," Su Ming had no interest in apprehending young girls, especially for their parents' cris.
Besides, everyone now knew the dangers of casting spells. They were probably just gathering to drink a few depressing drinks.
It was good for the bar's business, after all—higher sales.
Bobo took another look around and didn't spot any major villains. Just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief...
He saw a dangerous man sitting in a corner of the bar, smoking and sipping whiskey. He was one of the last people Bobo wanted to see in the bar—ranking even higher than Arabella.
Not just because the man's stench was enough to drive away those around him, but because wherever he showed up, nothing good ever followed.
