In the dark of the night, a helicopter carried the Suicide Squad and Su Ming to Washington, DC. An officially approved visit like this deserved an escorted ride.
"Tell , Harley, which prison of the Task Force X do you like the most?"
In the cabin, the bored Su Ming asked the forr psychiatrist who liked to talk.
Harley's answer did not surprise him; it was as rambling and off-topic as ever.
She said Belle Reve was too damp, Oga Penitentiary was stuffy, and the new Task Force X headquarters was too lonely.
If she could choose, she still liked that warm apartnt in Gotham with the na that started with an 'A'. It always made her feel right at ho.
Deadshot seed confused. He had never received such treatnt, as he was a ntally sane criminal. He had only stayed in Blackgate Penitentiary.
However, Harley, with the longest prison sentence of them all, still had a say. She was accused of 387 counts of murder, making parole almost impossible. She had broken out of prison countless tis, only to be recaptured by Batman or the Justice League and locked up in many different prisons and asylums.
Except for the Justice League's Temporal Suspension Prison—a facility originally ant to preserve severely wounded heroes with the hope of treatnt in the future.
But later, Batman discovered another use for it: imprisoning dangerous criminals.
Of course, Batman didn't plan to hand his enemies over to the Justice League. He'd rather keep Joker in his own dungeon.
And now, Su Ming was taking a group of forr criminals to visit the Justice Hall to see Batman. He just hoped Barry wouldn't be too excited when he saw Captain Boorang and Killer Frost.
Due to the governnt-sanctioned nature of the trip, the helicopter landed directly beside the fountain at the Justice Hall's entrance. The Hall glead with white light, even at night.
"So blinding."
Boorang took off his hat, scratched his greasy hair, and covered his eyes from the light.
Katana hadn't said much all day. She was paired with Rick, and she wasn't happy that Su Ming had broken Rick's leg.
Harley didn't care about the others' reactions. She bounced into the Justice Hall, wandering through the spacious, bright hallways, enthusiastically looking at the heroes' uniforms.
Batman, Superman, Green Lantern—all of them.
There were many replicas of these uniforms, but in the back rows, several mannequins were empty. It was a ssage from the Justice League, encouraging more capable individuals to stand up and fight for justice.
Harley's eyes lit up when she saw this and she imdiately started taking off her shirt, ready to strip her T-shirt, shorts, and stockings to dress one of the mannequins.
However, before she could lift her shirt all the way up, Martian Manhunter suddenly phased into view, his blue cape spreading like wings—he had likely been observing them in a phased state.
"Miss Quinn, taking off your clothes in public is rather improper. Even though it isn't open to the public right now, we do have 24-hour surveillance here."
"But my old uniform is still back in Gotham?" Harley replied, her face full of confusion. She wanted her outfit to stand alongside the heroes, after all.
The Martian Manhunter couldn't read Harley's mind—it was full of chaos and madness. But the situation was obvious, and J'onn didn't need telepathy.
"These uniforms are displayed here because of the deeds of their owners. If you want your uniform here, you need to do more for the world."
"Do more for the world..." Harley tilted her head, seemingly understanding a bit. She decided she would help Red with tree planting in a few days, covering the world in greenery.
Red had told her a lot about the importance of reforestation, and to Harley, that sounded like the best thing for the Earth!
Seeing Harley stop taking off her clothes, J'onn turned his gaze to the others.
"Welco to the Justice Hall. This is a place where anyone with a heart for justice is free to visit. I hope I will see you all here often."
Deadshot ignored him completely, while Captain Boorang sneered outright.
People like them couldn't even think about tomorrow, let alone the future.
J'onn floated slowly to the ground, looking at each person. But from the minds of the Suicide Squad mbers, he couldn't extract anything useful. The only thing he could gather was that Su Ming had obtained command of the Squad, and they were all acting under orders.
And today's orders were to visit the Justice Hall.
Even soone as smart as J'onn couldn't guess Su Ming's motives without any intel.
But J'onn was very tactful. He believed Su Ming's intentions would reveal themselves over ti, so he didn't question Su Ming's motives. Instead, he chose to give them a tour.
Su Ming looked at Harley's pale stomach and sighed regretfully. If only J'onn had shown up a few seconds later...
But that was secondary. He was here simply to wait for the unknown force to attack the Justice Hall so he could help the Justice League at the critical mont—and pave the way for future extortion opportunities.
J'onn was very knowledgeable about the items displayed in the Justice Hall. No matter how bizarre sothing was, he could explain its history.
However, the tour was mainly Harley asking question after question, and J'onn patiently answering all her strange and fantastical questions.
Su Ming kept an eye on all corners and different directions throughout the tour, but there was nothing unusual.
The Hall was as quiet as a stagnant pond—completely different from the day's activity.
No matter; he now had sufficient clearance. As long as they stayed with him, Amanda wouldn't detonate anyone's head, so even staying in the Justice Hall posed no concerns.
Only Su Ming knew the entire plan, and he was immune to psychic abilities. Martian Manhunter must have felt quite frustrated.
Maybe they should call out Diana to try a beauty trap?
But Diana's approach to charm wasn't like that of ordinary won. Su Ming had experienced the Amazon won's way of showing affection back on Earth -11.
It would probably involve arm wrestling, weightlifting, or hunting fantastical creatures.
"J'onn, why don't we head to the cafeteria? We haven't had dinner yet." Su Ming called out to J'onn, who was explaining the purpose of a peculiar weapon, suggesting they find a place to rest.
Harley, who had been engrossed in the museum-like tour, imdiately raised her hand in support upon hearing the ntion of food.
"Of course. Our Justice Hall cafeteria is open 24 hours, though there might be others dining there. If anything unexpected happens, please exercise restraint."
Martian Manhunter planned to find Batman soon, and leaving the Suicide Squad in the cafeteria seed like a good idea.
Su Ming laughed loudly and removed his helt. "I'd love to see who dares to ss with my squad. Those boy scouts? Deathstroke's course is always open for new students."
J'onn sighed. That was exactly what he was worried about.
