Eustass Captain Kid's fruit is the Magnet-Magnet Fruit, a fruit that gives the user's body magnetism, allowing them to control magnetic objects.

Until awakened, this fruit only affects the user themselves, but upon awakening, the user can bestow magnetism onto objects other than themselves. It is an ability similar to an electromagnet, which only exhibits magnetic properties when an electric current flows.

Through this ability, Kid gathers tal objects from his surroundings to create giant hands, arm himself in a form resembling a giant robot, or attack by firing tal objects at high speed like a railgun.

For that reason, when there are many tal structures nearby, the collapse of buildings happens in an instant. So I decided to go out first.

When the employees tried to step in, I stopped them and went forward myself to ask.

"Boy, who are you?"

"I am Eustass Captain Kid."

This was Kid in his very early days. He had almost no wounds, and not only was his fruit not awakened, but I couldn't even sense any Haki. At this level, he would have been taken out by my employees.

"Well, fine. Follow . I was in the mood for sothing anyway, so this works as a pasti."

Kid hadn't co alone — 'Killer' and several other crew mbers who looked like thugs were with him. They followed to the wide open lot next to the store. The employees also ca out to watch.

"Co at ."

"Alright!"

Kid took a stance and used his left hand to gather surrounding tal, layering it to form a large fist.

"I'll return your own words to you! Your journey ends here, King of rchants! Punk Gibson!!"

Kid brought that fist down on .

Thud!

But there was no way an attack like that would work on . I simply blocked it lightly with one hand. Seeing that, Kid broke out in a cold sweat and beca tense, and his crew seed extrely surprised.

Murmur murmur

"No way... one hit like that would have taken out most pirates..."

"Even if he just claid the position of Five Emperor, an Emperor is still an Emperor, I suppose?"

I spoke to Kid with a very disappointed expression.

"Is this it? I had expectations, but your level... It seems you haven't been out on the sea for long. Just go back. Co back when you're stronger, boy."

At those words, Kid, apparently offended, frowned and didn't stop attacking.

"I'm not done yet!! Punk Pistols!!!"

"Tch. If you've co to the Grand Line, you should know that recognizing your opponent's strength is how you survive long."

I quickly approached the guy who was about to do sothing and grabbed his head, applying pressure.

"Gwaaaaaaah!!!"

Kid writhed and scread from the trendous pain pressing down on his head.

"Shut up!"

Crash!!!

I grabbed Kid's head and slamd it into the ground. He then went quiet, apparently unconscious. I looked at the other Kid Pirates crew mbers and asked.

"Do you want to fight too?"

They broke out in cold sweats, grabbed their weapons, and took fighting stances. Kid, at least, seed to have so loyalty — none of his crew mbers ran away.

"Hmph, you have good crewmates."

I signaled to my employees.

"Take care of them."

"Yes sir!!"

"I've been waiting for that order!!"

The employees approached the Kid Pirates with their bare hands and started beating them. There was no way a pirate crew without Haki could beat my employees.

Whack whack wham whack!!!

"Aaah!!"

"Gwaah!!"

"Kyaaah!!"

The employees beat them soundly for a while, then tied them up with rope and brought them over. I put them in hanging cages and hung them prominently right next to the warning sign I had written, of course with Sea Prism Stone handcuffs on.

"President, what should we do with their pirate ship?"

"Take the treasure inside, then just burn it. And give them one piece of bread per day as their al."

"Yes, President."

By hanging them as a warning, I hoped that no more pirates would bother attacking us. The Kid Pirates' assets were just used for employee dinners.

For a while after that, nothing much happened. I made deliveries, went back and forth between the rchant's Island and the store, and watched over the training of my wives and children. Then, I learned so unexpected news through the newspaper.

"The Fourth Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, 'Thatch', has been imprisoned in the great prison Impel Down... and Blackbeard is now a Warlord..."

There was definitely sothing that had happened between the Whitebeard Pirates and Teach.

"Sigh... I thought things had been sowhat peaceful lately, but as expected, the One Piece world never stays quiet for a mont."

As I was looking at the newspaper and thinking about whether to go see Whitebeard for the first ti in a while, an employee ca to and spoke.

"President, you rember those pirates we captured before?"

"Yeah, the Kid Pirates. I had forgotten about them. Are they still alive?"

"Well, several of the crew mbers have been unable to endure and are dying. So the captain of that pirate crew has been raising a ruckus, begging for you to co."

"Is that so? Alright."

I went with my employees to the harbor of Mock Town, where the Kid Pirates were hanging, for the first ti in a while. They had been beaten severely and surviving on a single piece of bread a day, so their bodies didn't look good, and they had defecated right where they were, so they were in a horrible state swarming with flies. And as the employee said, several seed to be dying from not being able to endure.

"So, why did you call ?"

When I looked at Kid and asked, Kid shouted at .

"King of rchants! I beg you. Kill and release my crewmates. They only committed the cri of following !"

At those words, I clicked my tongue and spoke.

"Tch, boy. If you had listened when I gave you the chance, you wouldn't be in this state now. Once you set foot in the Grand Line, you should know that assessing your own level and reading your opponent's strength is also a captain's duty."

I thought for a mont and then continued.

"Well, fine. I'm not the kind of person with such a ruined character."

When I signaled to my employees, they released the pirate crew mbers except for Kid. The crew began to hurriedly tend to the dying mbers first.

"Please, help us get them treated..."

Killer, holding a dying comrade in his arms, pleaded with us.

"Handle that yourselves. We have nothing to give to those who attacked us."

At that, so of them frowned and tried to attack us, but Killer hurriedly stopped them. Then a few went into Mock Town and began to bring back food and water.

We took only the Sea Prism Stone handcuffs, threw the filthy hanging cages into the sea, and were about to leave. Then Killer asked .

"What happens to our captain?"

"He has to pay the price for you being released. He'll have to stay here as a warning."

"Th-that's..."

I raised my index finger to the despairing Killer and spoke.

"One year. If he endures here as a warning for one year on their behalf, I will release him."

At those words, Killer hesitated for a mont, then spoke.

"I hope you keep that promise, King of rchants!"

With that, the conversation ended, and we returned to the store.

From the next day, they set up a spot on the outskirts of Mock Town, built a crude shelter by gathering wood, and began looking for work. For now, they had nothing and had sick mbers, so they had no choice. Moreover, with us around, looting was impossible. Fortunately for them, thanks to the store, there was a large floating population, so jobs were plentiful.

'I want Killer...'

Indeed, under Killer's command, the Kid Pirates began doing various jobs in Mock Town and quickly regained their health. He also took good care of the sick mbers, ensuring they received hospital treatnt, and managed to save them all. He was truly a desirable guy.

But Killer had been childhood friends with Kid since they were young and seed loyal, so recruiting him seed almost impossible.

'It's a sha, but I have no choice.'

If Kid could just co to his senses, they could beco a good pirate crew, but given Kid's disposition, it seed unlikely.

Then, so interesting people ca to Mock Town — none other than CP9 of Cipher Pol.

'These guys, why are they here?'

Of course, Spandam wasn't with them, they were dressed normally, and they weren't causing any trouble, so I decided to just watch.

Kumadori started doing kabuki performances, Jabra and Blueno started doing wild animal shows, Kaku and Fukuro started playing with children on a giraffe slide, and Kalifa started earning money by cleaning the town with her Bubble-Bubble Fruit ability.

Rob Lucci, not feeling well, wasn't earning money but stayed at his lodging and went back and forth to the hospital.

'These guys, did they end up here because of Spandam's false accusations?'

I had devastated Enies Lobby while rescuing the island-native Navy soldiers, so there were differences from the original, and since I hadn't witnessed the end of Enies Lobby, I had no way of knowing why these guys had co here.

In the original story, Spandam blas CP9 for everything that went wrong because of Luffy and the others, making them fugitives for a while. So they follow the Sea Train tracks, treat their injuries in the Spring Queen City of 'Saint Populi', take down a pirate there, steal that pirate's ship to flee for a while, and then later rejoin CP0 — that was their original story.

'Well, if they're fugitives, there's no safer place than here, I suppose.'

Still, I needed to know their intentions for sure. So I had an employee ask Kalifa if she would be interested in becoming a secretary. A few days later, Kalifa ca to the store for an interview.

Kalifa, upon seeing my face, blushed, sat down in the office, and consulted with .

"Have you ever worked as a secretary before?"

"Sexual harassnt... no, I have."

"I see. Then do you have any ans to protect yourself?"

"Yes. I've learned so martial arts, and since I'm a Devil Fruit user, I can handle most pirates."

Kalifa had already been cleaning the town with her Bubble-Bubble Fruit ability, so she didn't particularly hide this fact.

"That's fortunate. Then start working from tomorrow."

I gave Kalifa so money to buy clothes and sent her off. Since it was our first eting, I couldn't exactly touch her head to read her mories.

The next day, Kalifa ca wearing a dangerously short miniskirt and a blouse cut quite low at the chest. It was similar to what she wore in Water Seven in the original.

"So, what should I do today?"

"Today, just follow around and observe the work. You need to understand how things operate."

"Understood."

I went about my usual routine — walking through the store to check on sales and approving docunts. Kalifa watched from the side, taking notes here and there.

Then an employee hurried up to my office and spoke.

"President, there are pirates causing a disturbance at a bar right now."

"I see. Are the employees busy unloading right now?"

"Yes. Should I stop the unloading and give them instructions?"

"No, I'll go myself."

I headed to the bar with Kalifa. As the employee had said, two groups of pirates had apparently gotten into a dispute and were brawling, attacking each other.

"Die!!"

"You die!!"

Thud! Bang! Crack! Clang!

I moved lightly and began taking them down, one hit each. Eventually, only two who appeared to be the captains were left.

"What are you doing, attack... huh? Gasp!!! King of rchants!!!"

"Did you not see my warning at the harbor?"

"Ah... no, that's not..."

Whack whack wham wham whack!!

I grabbed both captains and beat them soundly. Then, when the store employees arrived, I instructed them to lock all the rioting pirates in hanging cages just like the Kid Pirates and hang them neatly next to Kid. Of course, I confiscated all their assets from their pirate ships and burned the ships.

"You're busy, President."

Kalifa said to .

"Well, yes. We're still short on employees at the store."

There were so pirates I had rescued from Impel Down, but with the sales volu being high, it was true that we lacked employees.

"Then, would it be alright if I recomnded so people? I have so colleagues who ca with ."

"Is that so? Then bring them by tomorrow."

With my permission granted, Kalifa smiled faintly, looking pleased, said she understood, and left work.

I thought this was rather fortunate. I needed manpower to help manage the town, and since all the CP9 mbers were stronger than most pirates, hiring them would an the employees wouldn't have to be called away from their work to handle disturbances.

The next day, Kalifa ca to the office with all the CP9 mbers.

"President, I've brought them. These are the colleagues I ntioned."

"Are they strong as well?"

"Yes, each of them is strong enough to protect themselves."

"Good. Then let's go outside and see your skills. That way I can assign you appropriate work."
