"Why... are you here?" The figure's voice was low and hoarse, as if it ca from the depths of the earth, carrying an irresistible authority. Shen Jingqi gathered his courage, lifted his head, and said with a trembling voice, "Senior, we ca here in search of a way to beco stronger and accidentally entered this place. We plead for your rcy, please save us."
The figure was silent for a mont, as if contemplating sothing. Then, it spoke slowly, "Beco stronger? Do you know that this Power of Chaos is not sothing you can control? Forcing its fusion will only bring endless disaster." Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue were startled upon hearing this, not expecting the mysterious figure to know about their fusion with the Power of Chaos.
"Senior, we are at our wit's end, having been driven to this point. We humbly ask for your guidance," Lin Yue said with a sobbing tone.
The figure remained silent for a while longer and then said, "Very well, since you have co to this point, I will give you an opportunity. However, you must pay the corresponding price."
Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue exchanged a glance. This was their only chance, and no matter the cost, they had to seize it. "Senior, as long as we can beco stronger, we are willing to pay any price," Shen Jingqi said loudly.
The mysterious figure stood quietly, emitting a faint glow, shrouded in mystery within the dim cave. It nodded slightly and then slowly extended a hand. A brilliant light flashed from its fingertips like a sharp arrow, enveloping Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue in an instant.
Jingqi felt an imnse and powerful force surging into his body like a raging tide. "Ah!" He couldn't help but let out a piercing scream, his body uncontrollably rolling on the ground. His hands clutched his head tightly, knuckles white from exertion, veins protruding on his forehead as bead-like sweat rolled down like raindrops.
Lin Yue was enduring the sa inhuman pain. The force rampaged through her body, making her feel as if countless steel needles were piercing her simultaneously. Every inch of her skin, every bone echoed with cries of pain. Her body curled up into a ball, trembling incessantly, as her lips bled profusely from being bitten. Yet, even so, the intense pain showed no signs of abating.
Ti seed to freeze at this mont. Every second felt like a century. The pain was like a malignant growth attached to their bones, binding them without any sign of dispersal. Shen Jingqi felt his consciousness beginning to blur, everything before him becoming surreal. He felt as though he were in an endless abyss of darkness, ready to be entirely devoured by the pain.
Just as they felt they could no longer hold on, their consciousness fading, suddenly the tornting pain retreated like the tide. Their bodies seed to awaken from a nightmare, still weak but freed from the deadly pain.
They slowly stood up, legs still trembling slightly. Looking at their bodies, their eyes were filled with joy and disbelief. "Did we... succeed?" Lin Yue asked with a trembling voice, tears of excitent glistening in her eyes.
Shen Jingqi nodded vigorously, then slowly turned to the mysterious figure, eyes full of gratitude. He took a deep breath, attempting to keep his voice calm, and said, "Thank you, Senior, for saving our lives. Without you, we might have died under this power."
The figure slowly shook its head, its voice low and hoarse, as if coming from a distant place, "Do not rejoice too soon; this is just the beginning. Though you have narrowly acquired the Power of Chaos, you are far from powerful enough. In this world, there are many existences beyond your imagination. Like venomous snakes lurking in the dark, they can deliver a deadly strike at any mont. You must stay alert and continually enhance your strength."
Shen Jingqi clenched his fists tightly, eyes full of determination, "Senior, we will strive to beco stronger, to protect ourselves and those around us, not letting anyone harm us."
The figure nodded once more and then said, "Very well, you may leave." As it finished speaking, the figure gradually beca blurry, eventually disappearing in a radiant glow.
Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue looked in the direction where the figure vanished, their hearts filled with awe and gratitude. They knew that this experience had made them grow significantly and helped them understand the responsibility they bore. They turned and headed towards the cave's exit, each step brimming with resolution and determination.
However, when they reached the cave exit, the scene before them struck them as if by lightning. The once peaceful and harmonious world had turned chaotic. Dark clouds thickened in the sky, pressing down as if about to touch the ground. Lightning snaked through the clouds like silver serpents, thunder roaring, as if doomsday was imminent.
"What's happening?" Shen Jingqi's heart skipped a beat, eyes filled with confusion and fear. Lin Yue looked at the scene outside, unconsciously clutching her sleeves tightly.
At that mont, a group of mysterious black-clad figures materialized before them. Enshrouded in black robes, only their cold, sinister eyes were visible.
