Shen Jingqi hurriedly used the power of the Eighth Consciousness to form a barrier in front of him. The black mist collided with the barrier, making a "sizzling" sound, but the barrier remained immovable.
"Not bad," the man said, "but this is far from enough." With that, he launched another attack, the black mist growing ever denser, as if it were about to engulf the entire world.
Shen Jingqi felt increasing pressure, beads of sweat as large as soybeans erging on his forehead. He knew he couldn't just sit and wait for death; he had to find a way to counterattack. He focused his mind, sensing the power of the Eighth Consciousness within him, trying to find a flaw in the man's attacks.
At this mont, he suddenly discovered that, though the man's attack was strong, there was a minute flaw. His heart stirred, and seizing the opportunity, he pushed forward with both hands. A strong force shot out from the barrier, directly targeting the man's vulnerability.
The man didn't expect Shen Jingqi to suddenly counterattack and was too late to dodge, being hit by the force. He let out a shrill cry as his body was thrown back, landing heavily on the ground.
Taking advantage of the mont, Shen Jingqi grabbed the woman and started running in one direction. Behind them, the man slowly got back up, his eyes filled with resentnt. "You won't escape!" he shouted loudly.
Shen Jingqi and the woman ran frantically, not knowing how long they had been running, until finally they saw an exit. Overjoyed, they quickened their pace.
However, just as they were about to reach the exit, the man appeared again.
Like a ghost, he erged from the darkness, blocking the exit, coldly looking at them with a sinister smile at the corner of his mouth. "I told you, none of you can leave here," his voice was deep and icy, like a call from Hell.
Shen Jingqi and the woman stopped in their tracks. Shen Jingqi's palms were slightly sweaty, and he held the woman's hand tightly, trying to offer her so comfort. He looked at the man, his eyes filled with vigilance and anger. "Who are you? Why are you stopping us?"
The man did not answer, only staring coldly at them, his eyes exuding a freezing intent to kill. Shen Jingqi knew that a fierce battle was inevitable. He took a deep breath, tightly gripping the woman's hand, and gave her a determined look. "Don't be afraid, I'm here." he said.
The woman nodded, her eyes filled with trust. She clung tightly to Shen Jingqi, as though he was her only reliance. Shen Jingqi concentrated once more, using the power of the Eighth Consciousness, preparing to fight the man to the death. A faint glow began to spread around his body, the force of the Eighth Consciousness surging.
The man sneered, waved his hands, and a powerful Dark Power rushed towards them. Shen Jingqi responded swiftly, swinging his arm, a flash of light repelling the Dark Power. However, the man did not stop, continuously launching attacks, leaving Shen Jingqi and the woman forced to defend.
Suddenly, the surrounding space began to distort, and a mysterious force engulfed them all. Shen Jingqi felt his vision turn black and lost consciousness.
When he awoke again, he found himself in a strange place. All around was a desolate desert, with roaring winds and yellow sand swirling all over. He struggled to stand up, searching everywhere for the woman's trace.
"Woman! Woman!" He called loudly, his voice echoing in the empty desert. However, apart from the sound of the wind, there was no response.
