Chapter 1459: 1458 troops
Kudu, although he hadn’t gleaned useful information from Samiyi, nevertheless reaped so benefit from the encounter. At the minimum, he deduced that the princess harbored significant ambitions of her own. Busodi aspired to be King, but it was by no ans certain that Samiyi would cede this opportunity to Busodi.
With this in mind, Kudu quickened his pace; he needed to relay this crucial information to Prince Busodi. He must alert him to prepare sooner rather than later and not to expend too much effort on contending with Prince Laka but rather to focus on confronting Princess Samiyi.
Within the palace, Laka was still enveloped in anxious thoughts. “Mr. Kudu is very smart. Has he already sensed sothing amiss?”
“He’s bound to realize that there’s an issue,” Samiyi calmly stated. “Even without assigning soone to watch him, I know where he has gone now.”
Laka asked, “Where has he gone?”
Samiyi laughed, “Of course, to report to his master.”
...
As for who his master was, Samiyi didn’t need to elaborate; Laka was certain of who stood behind Kudu.
“So what should we do now?” Laka asked. “Should we start to guard against Busodi?”
“There’s no need,” Samiyi replied. “Go back and have lunch. I have so matters to discuss with Miss Tan Rou.”
Laka obeyed his aunt implicitly. “Oh, and don’t forget to have lunch yourself.”
It was only after everyone had left that Samiyi turned to Tan Rou. “Rou, take a seat for a mont; I need to find sothing.”
Tan Rou didn’t stand on ceremony with Samiyi and promptly sat down on the King’s exclusive sofa, leaning back comfortably. It must be said, J nation had so talent in crafting sofas, as every one she sat on was quite comfortable.
After a short while, Samiyi called Tan Rou over. “Rou, co take a look at this docunt.”
Tan Rou hesitated. “Samiyi, this is your country’s secret. If you let see it, wouldn’t that be sowhat inappropriate?”
“Don’t worry, you are my friend and my partner, so you can look at this docunt,” Samiyi said with a smile.
Tan Rou was perplexed. “Partner?”
Samiyi explained, “You encouraged to be Queen; hence we are partners. Now that I’ve decided to vie for the throne, I can no longer be an ignorant princess. I need to prepare for certain things in advance to avoid being outpaced by others later.”
Tan Rou didn’t know quite what to say. She was pleased to hear about Samiyi’s bid for the throne, but she also harbored so concerns. After all, Samiyi had spent many years in the palace with little power at her fingertips. Could she truly triumph over Busodi?
Regardless, she had resolved to help Samiyi, so she could not afford to hesitate or regret.
Not long ago, Tan Rou had only desired to advance her own career and had little interest in others’ affairs. However, everything had taken an uncontrollable turn since she brought Agila back.
Having been drawn into this war, she had to give her all to succeed, lest she be the only one to suffer in the end.
“All right, let take a look.” Tan Rou walked over to Samiyi’s side. “What docunt have you got there?”
Upon seeing the docunt in Samiyi’s hands, Tan Rou’s eyes widened. “This is… this is… you’re planning to use rcenaries?”
Samiyi calmly responded, “This was an advisory report I once made for my brother, but he didn’t adopt it. Nonetheless, he kept the report.”
Tan Rou felt Samiyi was sowhat mad. “rcenaries are extrely bloody. Once they get involved, it can lead to significant casualties.”
“I know,” Samiyi said. “My brother said the sa thing, but he was also considering its feasibility, as the nobles’ power is simply too formidable. Now that I intend to be Queen, I must have my own army.”
Tan Rou queried, “Why not have your brother give you his troops?”
“That’s only the first line of defense. I cannot rely solely on that, understand?” Samiyi stated. “Also, the army is filled with n whose traditional beliefs won’t easily change. If they won’t support becoming Queen, then that army is useless.”
