Gu Chaoyan showed a helpless look. She did not expect to run into The Empress Dowager at this point.

Gu Chaoyan took a look at Qianqing Palace, where no one seed to take her side. So she decided to leave as she sighed and answered. “Okay, then I will be off.”

She said and was about to leave when the King inside the Qianqing Palace walked out anxiously and said, “Lady Chaoyan, please stay.”

Then he looked at his own mother. He said with a blaming tone, “Mom, Lady Chaoyan is here to check up on , why are you driving her away?”

The King did not sound as if he was blaming his mother.

He heard what The Empress Dowager said, and he was pleased. Gu Chaoyan was an arrogant person and she needed to be lectured so that she would know her place. However, this girl was really about to leave!

He would not have cared if she had not been here for his sake, but she was here as his doctor. So if he had to ask her for a favor, he had to bend down.

None of the doctors in the country could do anything except for this lady!

“She checks you up? Are all the imperial doctors dead?” the Empress Dowager said with a long face, snapping unhappily.

The King did not counter her. He gave a brief smile, then he asked his mother to step inside.

That he was sick could be an open thing for the Empress Dowager, and only the Empress Dowager whom he trusted.

The Empress Dowager was his mother and she only had one son, naly the King himself. It was The Empress Dowager’s tricks that helped him gain the throne.

The mont they entered the room, the Empress Dowager said to Chaoyan angrily, “Didn’t you give all the prescriptions to the Imperial Hospital? Are you hiding sothing and trying to do that on purpose?”

The King did not stop his mother’s lecture as he was leafing through the petitions. He knew his mother well. No one would be able to stop her, if she decided to embarrass soone in the court. It was a chance for Gu Chaoyan to learn so lessons.

Gu Chaoyan took a look at the mother and the son and understood what was going on here. The Empress Dowager and the King were doing this on purpose, but she was not scared. Instead, she said calmly, “The Empress Dowager, you don’t have any knowledge of dicine, do you? Prescriptions are sothing fixed, but dical skills and related prescriptions can be changed based on experience. Even if I have offered the Imperial Doctors the prescriptions, I can’t possibly give them my brain too.”

The Empress Dowager found sothing weird was going on in what she had said. She was indicating that no one from the Imperial Hospital was smart enough to make good use of the prescriptions.

She was the person that made this proposal at the beginning, so this girl was indicating that she was the one without a brain.

The Empress Dowager got so angry that her hands were shivering. No one had dared to counter her like this in this land.

The King hadn’t expected that Gu Chaoyan could be so tough as to counter the Empress Dowager, because no one, even the Queen, dared to do sothing like this.

For one mont, the air turned awkward.

The King put down the petitions in his hands and said, “Mom, she is checking up, she is just a doctor, anyone can do her job, right?”

The Empress Dowager’s face changed. Gu Chaoyan might be tough, but her son was the King! She had to do whatever the King asked her to.

“You are a girl and you should stay at ho waiting for your husband to marry you. What is the point of dealing with these matters every day? Get an imperial doctor from the hospital to watch the process, so the imperial doctor can take over from today on,” the Empress Dowager said.

The King took a look at Gu Chaoyan. He was looking forward to seeing how Gu Chaoyan would react to this.
