Gu Chaoyan glanced at the refugees.
There were too many people gathered in the room. Those refugees simply had nowhere else to go, so in winter, what they could do was to gather around here, but that would not work. A cold was infectious, and when the group gathered, even those with few problems that got cured after taking so dicine, would continue to get infected after staying in this environnt. That was why the dicine would not work, thought Gu Chaoyan inwardly.
Li Yuanxiang hesitated as she saw Gu Chaoyan shaking her head. She asked, “Is it because of my dicine?”
Gu Chaoyan checked out Li Yuanxiang’s dicine.
It was indeed dicine for the cold, nothing was wrong.
Gu Chaoyan shook her head. “It’s not the dicine, but the surroundings.”
The surroundings?
Li Yuanxiang was confused. She had no idea what she ant.
She grew up in her mother’s clinic, yet she had been receiving patients one by one. Also, those who could afford to co to the clinic were normally rich enough to pay for the bills. Therefore, most of them were cured after being in a good environnt and with proper dicine. Therefore, she could not fathom what Gu Chaoyan ant.
She had never run into a similar problem before.
Gu Chaoyan said, “There are way too many people in the room. Even if soone takes your dicine and gets cured, he or she might still catch a cold again because of other people’s illness. So the dicine would not work.”
Li Yuanxiang nodded as if she understood the whole thing, but she still wasn’t sure if what she was thinking was right.
“Then what are we supposed to do?” Li Yuanxiang asked.
“How many rooms are there?”Gu Chaoyan asked Sword Two.
“Elder Miss, we have four rooms including the deserted temple over there.” Sword Two said, “And we have 200 to 300 people here.”
Gu Chaoyan made a calculation.
It was definitely not enough to be able to accommodate so many people into the four rooms on average.
“What we need to solve right now is to get the seriously-infected ones to one room, the slightly-infected ones to another room, and those who are almost cured can be gathered into a third room. As for those who get seriously-infected, they can be moved to a fourth room. In this way, those who are cured will get better, otherwise the infection would inevitably continue spreading and the whole thing will not work,” Gu Chaoyan said with a frown.
Sword Two’s eyes brightened.
That was indeed a great idea, otherwise the gang here would never have a way out.
Many people died of a cold each year, and none of those doctors had thought of such a thod. If this idea had been created and was known earlier, many people would not have had to die.
Li Yuanxiang agreed. She had never thought of this thod even after spending one whole day here.
“Then I will check their pulses and separate the slightly-infected and the seriously-infected ones.” Li Yuanxiang said excitedly, then she set about to do the work.
Those people in the room all looked distressed. They did not seem to lighten up even after they heard Gu Chaoyan’s idea, as if they had totally given up.
“That would not work, girl.” One old grandpa said, “We are refugees that are not allowed to enter the capital. We are cornered to death! The four rooms might be enough to hold all of us today, but there would be more refugees streaming in from tomorrow on. We might not even have enough space to be gathered let alone be separated!”
