Gu Xiuying looked annoyed, but she had to leave at the mont. She was a concubine’s child who had no status at ho nor rights to speak.

She threw a lingering look at Lord Ling who was seated on the upper seat. Dressed in the blue robe, Lord Ling gave out an air of nobility. Lord Ling was not paying attention to her at all. Instead, he was looking at the girl in white.

Gu Xiuying followed his look... only to see Gu Chaoyan right there.

Gu Xiuying was annoyed – why Gu Chaoyan? Wasn’t she prettier than Gu Chaoyan?!

Before she was able to think it through, she was dragged out by Mrs. Gu.

As they ca out of the room, Mrs. Gu looked at Gu Xiuying disdainfully. “Are you expecting that Lord Ling will spare a look at you? Honestly, just look at yourself in the mirror first.”

Gu Ruxue snorted. She would have snapped at Gu Xiuying in the past, but on this very occasion, she wanted to not spend any effort upon Gu Xiuying.

She was pretty aware that Lord Ling would not look at this girl at all. She could just worry about Gu Chaoyan instead. What was more, she needed to speak with her mother. So she had no intention of wasting any more ti.

After glaring at Gu Xiuying, she left with Mrs. Gu.

As for the other concubine’s children, they knew that Mrs. Gu had no intention of gathering them for a chat with Ruxue, she just wanted them to stay away from Lord Ling. Therefore, when they were out of the room, they were asked to leave the spot as well.

As they ca to the Yard, Gu Ruxue finally put down her arrogant look and sat there with head lowered. She looked rather distressed.

Mrs. Gu knew that sothing wrong was going on.

She threw a serious look at Lianxiang. “Wait outside, I need to speak with her alone.”

Lianxiang nodded in an equally serious way. She closed the door as she walked out.

Seeing the door tightly closed Mrs. Gu finally asked, “Ruxue, what happened?”

She had been worried the whole ti. Lord Ling saw what happened at the study the other day and no man would be able to accept that scene at all, let alone Lord Ling.

She let out a sigh of relief seeing her returning ho. She assud that Lord was treating Ruxue well, but seeing Ruxue’s expression... She again got worried.

Gu Ruxue nodded. She showed her hand which was still wrapped. Due to the deep wound, it would take ages before the wound healed with the help of ordinary cream.

Mrs. Gu asked as she looked at Gu Ruxue. “How did you get hurt?”

“It was the Lord who did it to on the wedding day!” Gu Ruxue said, “Mom, what happened! When I bled the other day, sothing strange happened! That was how the Lord confird my identity, but I bled on the wedding day too, and nothing happened any more.”

“...”

“If I had not been smart enough to tell the Lord that I was on my period, the Lord might have gotten the wrong idea!”

“...”

“Mom, what am I supposed to do? Why is my blood not working?” Gu Ruxue frowned as she was thinking. She had been trying to figure that out for ages at the mansion, but just could not understand a thing.

She did not dare to share this important thing with anyone else. So she had been holding the secret for all this ti until she t her mom.

Mom always had ideas, and she was definitely able to help her.
