Gu Chaoyan had to get up instead of lying down for a break. “Sword One, I need to be out for a while.”
Sword One was aware that Elder Miss was not doing well, but not everyone could notice her exhaustion. So she nodded, opened the door for her and said, “Then I will get the warm water and small snacks ready for you, so you can have them when you return.”
Gu Chaoyan was already outside the room, but she smiled at Sword One hearing her sweet words.
She was not a very talkative person. Most of the ti, she showed her gratitude with actions.
Sword One felt slightly embarrassed. She noticed that her Miss was a very pretty girl, especially when she smiled. That was when she was the most beautiful one of all. She watched her leaving with a concerned heart, until the figure disappeared around the corner. Then she started to get down to her own business.
Gu Chaoyan followed the pageboy back to the Dean.
The windows and the doors of the room were all open. Gu Chaoyan had left them in that way when she left, and they remained in the sa status.
As she walked inside, both Xia Yinghan and Xue Feihan were there, but Huang Xuan was not seen.
Xia Yinghan and Xue Feihan had different looks on their faces as they greeted Gu Chaoyan. Xia Yinghan was showing a look of respect so Gu Chaoyan nodded at her slightly. Then she went up to the patient.
The man was still feeble, but he already opened his eyes as he laid still. Any small moves would cause him pain.
Gu Chaoyan had been concerned, but after a while, she went to pour so water whilst adding so magical water inside the bowl, before passing it to him to drink.
“Take it slow, it is better for you.” Gu Chaoyan sounded calm, but gentle.
“Can he drink this?” Xia Yinghan asked. But she was not suspecting Gu Chaoyan for anything, just out of curiosity and as a reminder.
Faced with such a kind inquiry, Gu Chaoyan answered politely. “It is fine.”
That man took her advice, and started to drink little by little.
He felt better as he drank each sip, until he emptied the whole bowl.
He looked extrely grateful. “Thank you for saving !”
“You are welco, it is what I should do as a doctor.” Gu Chaoyan answered softly and then asked. “How did you get injured?”
As the question was raised the man sparkled with excitent, but he remained still.
“I am a hunter, and I go into the mountains to hunt every day! The other day, I ran into a huge wild boar. My arrow already hit it, so I decided to catch it when it started to run. That wild boar would an a great deal for us, as much as the expense of three months! So I kept running after it until I reached a deep valley, then an enormous monkey hopped up! I realized that sothing was wrong, so instead of lingering, I started to run downwards, but I got hit by the monkey. I passed out and then I rolled down to the feet of the mountains.”
Then he said as he made a gesture. “It has a hand as large as this! I have never seen such a thing before, just like a monster!”
What he said had not only startled Gu Chaoyan but also the Dean.
A monster? Even a tiger was not this size.
Feeling that the whole thing was getting weird, he said seriously, “Take good care of him, I need to visit the court and inform the King.”
