The Crown Prince was dominating in the capital, and the King was apparently taking the Crown Prince as his favorite. Lord Yan who was basically grounded, Lord Yu who was idling about, and Lord Huai who was standing right in front of her, were all out of the picture in the King's eyes.
Duke North Mansion was not going to have any cooperation with Lord Huai in the future, so she was using her deceased husband's relationship with Lord Huai to beg for Lady Chaoyan's dical skills, which was totally worth the while for her. That was the only function Lord Huai could have for the mont.

Zhou Huaijin had no expression, but he still had so changes in his eyes.
He had been, implicitly and openly, helping Duke North Mansion during the past few years, and he agreed to accompany Duke North back to the capital because he had been thankful for the deceased Duke North.
He had not thought about getting paid back for the small deeds he did for Duke North, because he had been grateful for the deceased Duke North. However, what Mada Duke North said hurt him deeply.
Her whole family had not noticed what he had done for them, but used the past to beg him for what they desired.
Zhou Huaijin's throat moved, but he turned to Gu Chaoyan, wondering if Chaoyan would want to continue with the dical examination. It all depended on her.
Gu Chaoyan shook her head slightly. "Mada Duke North, I can't cure him, you should turn to soone else, sorry."
Having said this… she left and continued to move forward, instead of turning around.
Zhou Huaijin understood what Gu Chaoyan ant. He told Fu Bao to shield them so that Mada Duke North would not co and disturb Chaoyan again.
Li Qing followed them as well.
The whole team soon left Duke North Mansion.
It was ssy inside Duke North Mansion. Gu Chaoyan left directly, but Duke North needed a doctor. Mada Duke North was in such a ss that she had no idea what was going on. Mrs. Duke North was not in charge of anything, and the housekeeper had to try and find a doctor from the capital's clinic.
When everything was settled in the mansion, the housekeeper thought about helping Mada Duke North into Duke North's room.
The room where Duke North was lying still fell completely silent. The servants were all on their knees next to him, whilst Mrs. Duke North was also serving her husband.
Teacups and dical soup bowls were all over the ground.
The man lying in bed was looking dark yet pale, expressionless. He no longer looked as handso and as gentle as before.
When Mada Duke North walked in, she felt extrely concerned as she looked at her son. She never noticed how much her son's expression had changed.
Sitting by the bedside, she cried loudly, "Yichen, Lord Huai is a cold man. He is not grateful for what your father did for the Jiang Family, but insisted that Lady Chaoyan should not check on you."

"Yichen, what should we do? Your father is deceased and I have watched you grow up and inherit the rank of Duke North. I wish that you could father so children so that everything could be settled in our mansion. You have not fathered any children yet, so what should we do?" Mada Duke North cried loudly and sadly as she thought of what might happen later.
Duke North's face sank.
He looked at his mother and shouted loudly and fiercely, "Just shut up! What are you crying for!"
