Chapter 75: Chapter 73 Ex-Boyfriend
…
When Lu Jingyan arrived at the bar, Sheng Xian was already seated inside.
As it wasn’t the weekend, there weren’t many people in the bar, so she spotted him at a glance.
Sheng Xian, like her, seed to have co straight from ho, dressed casually in a white Gucci sweatshirt that made him look much younger than when he wore dress shirts.
The lighting in the bar was a bit dim, and his seat was backlit, yet his skin still appeared very pale.
Lu Jingyan was quite fair-skinned herself, so ordinary people didn’t stand out much to her, but Sheng Xian’s complexion was so striking that one could say the professor was truly pale.
Sheng Xian was busy replying to ssages, and when he sensed soone approaching, he looked up casually, saw Lu Jingyan, and asked, “You’re here?”
“Mmm,” Lu Jingyan ca back to her senses, put down her bag, and sat across from Sheng Xian.
Sheng Xian slid the drinks nu to her, “See what you’d like to drink.”
Lu Jingyan flipped through the nu and asked, “What about you? Have you ordered?”
“Not yet,” Sheng Xian continued to type, seemingly preoccupied with sothing urgent, and after a couple of seconds, he added, “I’ll order in a bit.”
Lu Jingyan made an affirmative noise, wisely choosing not to disturb him further.
This bar was the sa one they ended up at after Lu Hongcheng got angry and kicked her out of his car, where she had been picked up by Chen Kai. She had been here quite a few tis, and could almost recite the drinks nu from mory.
Seeing no new additions to the nu, Lu Jingyan closed it and waited for Sheng Xian to finish up.
Besides the softly playing background music, the bar was free of any additional noise.
Lu Jingyan rested her chin in her hands, her gaze wandering left and right before settling on Sheng Xian.
Sheng Xian had long fingers, and there was a black leather-strapped watch on his wrist while he typed. It was a simple design, but it looked particularly good on him.
He gazed down at the screen, his long lashes casting a complete veil over his eyes.
She hadn’t really scrutinized him like this before. Only now did she realize that Professor Sheng was actually blessed with remarkably long eyelashes.
Truly a man designed to her own aesthetic preferences.
Even his eyelashes seed to hit the bullseye of her tastes.
Used to being confident in her own looks and applying makeup only based on her mood, Lu Jingyan regretted not putting on so makeup before coming here.
Since when had she beco so concerned about appearances?
The first ti she t Sheng Xian, she had literally just woken up, thrown on so clothes, and headed out the door.
She didn’t have such convoluted thoughts back then. In fact, she rembered eting him twice that day; the second ti was in the middle of the street where she shalessly whistled at Professor Sheng and asked if he wanted to get in her car.
At that thought, Lu Jingyan involuntarily let out an “Ah.”
Sheng Xian lifted his head to look at her, “What’s the ‘ah’ for?”
Lu Jingyan snapped out of her reverie, “Nothing.”
She was just reflecting on how, in the blink of an eye, she had known him for over two months now.
Lu Jingyan noticed that Sheng Xian had turned off his phone screen, “Finished with your work?”
“Yeah, I’m done,” Sheng Xian noted the lack of a drink in front of her, “Why didn’t you order anything to drink?”
Lu Jingyan propped up her chin and curved her eyes into a smile, “I was waiting to order together with brother.”
Without a word, Sheng Xian pressed the call bell on the table to summon a waiter.
Lu Jingyan had tried every drink the bar offered, so she let Sheng Xian choose at random, then ordered the sa drink as him.
As they waited for their drinks, the bar door was pushed open, and a raucous group walked in.
One of the n glanced over at their table.
The man was quite handso, tall, and stood out within his group.
Lu Jingyan wasn’t one to seek attention, but she happened to look towards the door and inadvertently t his gaze.
Then the man looked away, and just as Lu Jingyan was about to do the sa, he glanced over at her again.
This sort of attention was nothing new to Lu Jingyan.
She had hung out in bars with Chen Kai and Song Xian; n often looked her way frequently, and there would be at least fifty, if not a hundred, in one night.
With composure, Lu Jingyan nonchalantly brought her gaze back.
But in the next instant, the man actually walked over to her.
Just one look at each other, and he was coming over to chat?
As Lu Jingyan considered this, the man called out her na, “Lu Jingyan?”
Lu Jingyan was taken aback and looked up.
Upon closer inspection, she realized that the man looked sowhat familiar, but she couldn’t place him, nor rember who he might be.
After calling her na, the man glanced at Sheng Xian sitting across from Lu Jingyan with a hostile expression and asked, “And who is this?”
Sheng Xian lifted his eyes indifferently, giving the man a brief look. Facing the man’s hostile gaze, he turned slowly to Lu Jingyan, “Do you know him?”
“…”
How was she supposed to answer that?
To say she knew him, she couldn’t rember who he was.
To say she didn’t, there had been so, so many ex-boyfriends.
As Lu Jingyan was pondering how to respond without making a blunder, the man spoke again, “Of course she knows . Not only do we know each other, but we were also quite close, right Xiaoyan?”
Lu Jingyan: “…”
Close your head.
Who the hell was close to you before?
And who asked you, why are you jumping in with an answer?
Not only did the man jump in with an answer, but he seed not fully satisfied and added, “Oh, right, let
introduce myself, I’m one of her ex-boyfriends.”
