After walking for an unknown amount of ti, when Ethan Smith felt his feet grow numb,

In front of him, a little girl and a boy each held one of his hands.
They showed expressions of regret and then slowly vanished from sight.
In that forest, only Ethan Smith remained, though now he could see a trace of pale white in the sky.
As if the sun was preparing to erge.
