Chapter 1815: Chapter 1815: Receiving the Invitation_1 Chapter 1815: Chapter 1815: Receiving the Invitation_1 The man froze for a mont, then frowned and said, “What did you say?”

Ethan Smith quickly changed his tone and said, “Oh, nothing. When the ti cos, I’ll take you in myself, and you won’t even need this invitation.”

“Wow, that’s really generous of you! Thank you so much!” The man said respectfully.

He then introduced himself, saying, “My na is Mateo Terrell. It’s an honor to et you!”

Ethan waved dismissively and said, “It’s nothing, don’t ntion it. But you’ll need to keep my identity a secret.”

“Understood, understood. No problem at all, Ethan. Trust , I get it.” Mateo said with a beaming smile.

Just as they were speaking, the formation was about to activate.

Compared to the formation at Thunder Courtyard, this one appeared rather battered and shabby.

*The group inside the formation trembled uneasily—it was obvious this formation was unstable, and any mishap might transport them to a different location entirely.*

*Throughout the journey, Ethan Smith was on edge. If he got teleported to so random location, it would cause imnse trouble—especially given the fact there were only five days left.*

Fortunately, despite the tension, everything went without incident. After more than an hour, the group successfully landed near Causide Mountain.

Surrounding Causide Mountain were clusters of settlents, though these were tribes populated by cultivators rather than fully ford cities.

In the distance lay an incredibly vast mountain range.

The range stretched for hundreds of miles, enveloped by wisps of Yi Yun, appearing trendously majestic.

“That’s Causide Mountain,” Mateo exclaid with admiration.

“You know, this is my first ti coming to Causide Mountain.”

Ethan calculated the ti—they still had two days left before the so-called grand event began.

Turning to Mateo, Ethan said, “Let’s find a place to stay for now.”

Surprised, Mateo asked, “No one’s here to receive you? Didn’t they arrange accommodations for you?”

“Of course they did. But there are so many people coming to Causide Mountain, so I didn’t want to trouble Daniel Wilson with it,” Ethan said casually, making up an excuse.

Mateo nodded in sudden realization and said, “Understood, understood!”

*Ethan knew that as long as his identity carried weight, even if he spouted nonsense, others would believe him without hesitation.*

*This understanding reassured him considerably.*

The two of them found a temporary place to stay near Causide Mountain. In an effort to curry favor, Mateo even brought good food and wine to serve Ethan Smith.

*During the al, Ethan’s mind was entirely preoccupied with figuring out how to trick Mateo into handing over his invitation.*

*Though it was sneaky and morally questionable, Ethan saw no other option given his current predicant. This was the only strategy available to him.*

“Brother Mateo, what brings you to Causide Mountain?” Ethan asked.

Mateo sighed and said, “I’m here to try my luck for an opportunity. If I can join the Wilson or Taylor family, I’ll have a secure footing for my future.”

Hearing this, Ethan imdiately sensed a chance.

He grinned and said, “Why do you want to join their clans?”

“I’ll take whatever role I can get! Even being a laborer is fine by ,” Mateo said wistfully.

“I’ve heard their workers get a few Pills every month. They can even take Hundred Herb Juice freely,” Mateo said with a look of longing.

Ethan chuckled and said, “Ah, so it’s just that? That’s simple—I’ll speak to Daniel Wilson and have him keep you with him. Problem solved.”

Mateo paused, then quickly asked, “Brother Ethan, are you serious?”

“Absolutely. We share a connection—it’s nothing more than a word from ,” Ethan said nonchalantly.

“But you know, even if Daniel Wilson helps out, he’ll still need to consider other people’s feelings. So when you first join the Wilson family, you might need to start from the bottom.” Ethan abruptly shifted the focus, just to keep Mateo from getting suspicious.

Mateo hurriedly raised his glass and said, “Brother Ethan, your kindness is unforgettable!”

“No need to be polite,” Ethan said with a smile, lifting his own glass and downing it alongside Mateo.

That night, the two drank until they were completely wasted.

*Initially, Ethan contemplated simply taking the invitation by force, but given they were at the foot of Causide Mountain—unfamiliar territory—he worried about potential complications.*

*Ultimately, Ethan abandoned that idea.*

The next day.

While eating breakfast, Ethan casually brought up, “Brother Mateo, that invitation of yours must have cost quite a bit, right?”

Mateo smiled bitterly and said, “To get hold of this invitation, I had to beg everyone I could think of. It took a huge amount of money and effort.”

“Tsk tsk, wow. Spending so much on a re piece of paper—it’s ridiculous,” Ethan feigned a sigh.

Mateo said wryly, “Brother Ethan, you don’t understand the struggles people like us face.”

*Realizing the ti was right, Ethan decided to make his move.*

“With around, you don’t actually need an invitation. Why not take this opportunity to sell it and make your money back?” Ethan suggested.

Mateo frowned and said, “Better not—what if sothing goes wrong?”

“Sothing wrong? Ha, looks like you don’t trust , Brother Mateo.” Ethan clapped his hands and stood up as if to leave.

Mateo quickly stopped him, gritting his teeth and saying, “Fine, I’ll listen to you—I’ll sell the invitation!”

“Whether you sell it or not is none of my business, honestly. I just feel bad for all the money you spent on such a trivial thing. What’s the invite worth, anyway? A few million magic coins?” Ethan probed.

Mateo replied solemnly, “I haven’t done the exact math, but I guess it could sell for about a hundred million magic coins. Its value is subjective at best—it’s not priceless.”

Ethan nodded and said, “Well, go sell it. After tomorrow, it’ll be nothing but scrap paper.”

“Alright, then I won’t waste any ti—I’ll leave now.” Mateo said.

With that, Mateo got up and walked out of the inn.

The mont he left, Ethan imdiately activated the desolate divine eye, keeping close watch on him.

Ethan then pulled a black robe from his Spatial Magic Artifact, concealed his face, and hurriedly followed after him.

Mateo took out the invitation. Just as he prepared to speak, Ethan stepped forward to block his path.

“An invitation? You actually have an invitation to Causide Mountain?” Ethan said in a low voice to avoid being recognized by Mateo.

Mateo nodded and said, “Indeed. I don’t need it anymore, so I’m planning to sell it.”

“How much do you want for it?” Ethan asked, pretending not to know.

Mateo thought for a mont and said, “About a hundred million magic coins.”

*Feeling slightly guilty already, Ethan decided to make a bold move.*

“I’ll pay you two hundred million magic coins. Sell it to ,” Ethan offered.

Mateo froze, then excitedly said, “Really?”

“Absolutely,” Ethan confird.

He then took out his card and handed it to Mateo.

As magical light shimred, two hundred million magic coins were transferred into Mateo’s card.

“Alright, the invitation is mine now,” Ethan said eagerly, snatching the invitation from Mateo’s hand.
