Chapter 1614: Chapter 1614: The Banquet of the Extre Pole Chapter 1614: Chapter 1614: The Banquet of the Extre Pole “To hell with you! If you dare act disrespectful to again, I’ll shove your head straight up your ass!”

Ethan Smith rubbed his ear *in confusion*—wasn’t that Randall Freeman’s voice?!

He quickly retracted the Divine Eagle and dashed in the direction of the yelling.

Soon enough, he spotted three n drunkenly slumped in the Great Hall.

The one seated in the middle was none other than Randall Freeman.

His face was flushed red, clearly having had too much to drink.

Ethan hurried over to Randall’s side and exclaid in shock and joy, “Master, you’re alive?”

“The hell you an, alive?! You’re the one who’s dead!” Randall cursed reflexively.

When his hazy eyes landed on Ethan’s face, he got up in surprise and said, “Ethan? Where the hell have you been? Damn it, I almost thought you decided to hide like a goddamn coward!”

“A coward?” Ethan froze, utterly puzzled as he asked, “What do you an?”

“What do I an? Eternal City’s been challenging you for days now, nearly breaking into a bloodbath. If Grandpa hadn’t arrived just in ti, who knows how many would’ve died,” Clay Freeman mumbled.

“Exactly, exactly,” Alfred Freeman chid in, agreeing.

Soon after, Randall pulled Ethan down to sit beside himself and began recounting the series of events that had taken place.

As Ethan listened, *a surge of anger swirled in his heart.*

“So Gregory Hum and Monk Theo Miller were both injured?” Ethan asked in a deep voice.

“That’s right. Gregory Hum suffered injuries, but Theo Miller’s fate remains uncertain,” Randall said.

Ethan took a deep breath *as disbelief coursed through him—how could so much have happened after his departure?*

“If soone hadn’t claid that the Leader of the Cloud Sect had returned, things would’ve likely been much worse,” Randall muttered grimly.

“He’s back?” Ethan asked, looking noticeably surprised.

Randall scoffed and said, “Knowing him, there’s no way he’s really back, and absolutely no way he’d return at a ti like this.”

“He’s never been interested in playing the hero, completely opposite to Ken Middleton.”

*Ethan remained silent; the two brothers might share blood ties, but their personalities couldn’t be more different.*

“Tomorrow, Eternal will convene a eting in Eternal City. They claim it’ll be a negotiation, but in truth, it’s just a ploy to gauge our strength,” Randall said darkly.

Ethan gave a small nod before replying coldly, “Fine. Tomorrow, I’ll settle this once and for all with Eternal!”

Even though Ethan hadn’t yet reached the middle stage of cultivation in the mighty realm, he wasn’t afraid of facing Eternal.

“That’s enough talk; let’s just drink for now,” Clay said, pulling Ethan toward the group.

Ethan got up and said, “You all can keep drinking. I need to head to Bamboo Mountain and check on Gregory Hum.”

Randall responded with a grunt and said, “Plenty of people have visited him during this ti, but they’ve all returned defeated. You…”

“He’ll see ,” Ethan interrupted firmly.

Seeing Ethan’s determination, Randall didn’t insist further; instead, he reminded him to be cautious.

With that, Ethan summoned the Divine Eagle and flew off toward Bamboo Mountain.

Bamboo Mountain.

Gregory Hum had activated the protective formation, sealing the entire mountain off.

This formation was remarkably advanced; it was said Gregory had spent an enormous sum to have it specially crafted for protection from disturbances.

After a swift journey, Ethan arrived at the foot of Bamboo Mountain and shouted toward its interior, “Brother Gregory, Ethan Smith seeks an audience!”

After his booming shout, Ethan stood at the entrance, quietly awaiting a response.

Soon, a radiant light flickered, revealing a shaded pathway winding into the mountain.

Wasting no ti, Ethan stepped into Bamboo Mountain.

Within the bamboo forest lay a bamboo bed.

Gregory Hum was currently resting on the bed, recuperating.

His breathing was uneven, and his body was riddled with scars.

“Brother Gregory!”

Ethan hurried forward and knelt by the bamboo bed.

Gregory slowly sat up and said, “You’ve returned.”

Ethan nodded and then asked, “How are your injuries?”

Gregory waved dismissively and said, “Just minor wounds. Honestly, I didn’t expect soone like Eric Mitchell to possess such skill…”

“Eric Mitchell? The one who struck was Eric Mitchell of the three lunatics?” Ethan exclaid in shock.

Gregory grunted and said, “That Eric Mitchell must’ve cultivated so unknown technique, boosting his strength imnsely beyond his past capabilities. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have ended up in such a predicant.”

“If they’ve joined the North Plain, naturally the North Plain would teach them techniques,” Ethan said with a slight nod.

Gregory sighed deeply and said, “Still, it’s damn disgraceful…”

“There’s nothing disgraceful about it. The techniques they cultivate stem from the Immortal Slaying Sect’s thods, so simply surviving against them is impressive,” Ethan said sincerely.

The Immortal Slaying Sect, once a pinnacle major sect, used to overshadow even the Nine Great Families of the Holy Region during its peak. Naturally, the techniques they cultivated were unparalleled.

“You need to be cautious too. Eternal’s been shouting challenges for days now,” Gregory said gravely.

Ethan sneered and said, “Whether he cos looking for or waits for to find him, it’s about ti that bastard pays for his actions.”

Then, Ethan pulled out herbs from his Spatial Magic Artifact, intending to craft dicine for Gregory.

Although Gregory’s injuries weren’t severe, Ethan’s skills were more than adequate to restore him to peak condition in the shortest ti.

He took out his dicinal cauldron and began refining dicine for Gregory.

In the blink of an eye, three days passed, during which sects across the land gathered following Eternal’s grand invitation.

Within Eternal City, all was deathly silent—its forr glory nowhere to be seen.

anwhile, at the back mountain within the Eternal Mansion, the area was still surrounded by a haze of mysterious energy.

The back mountain resembled a paradise of sorts, laden with fine wine and exquisite dishes. A faint, refreshing aroma lingered in the air, standing in stark contrast to the lifeless silence beyond.

“Finally, this day has arrived,” Eternal murmured, his hands clasped behind his back.

Sects from across the land had all received Eternal’s invitation, and Eternal had already set up a tight dragnet here. Lurking in the shadows were nurous North Plain cultivators and scroll arrays.

So long as the Cloud Sect’s leader didn’t show up, anyone attending today’s eting would surely et their demise.

By midday, one sect master after another began arriving at the scene.

Gathering together, they whispered among themselves, avoiding any interaction with Eternal.

Eternal couldn’t help but remark, “The last ti I hosted an event like this, I was among the most respected figures in the Southern Province. How quickly the tides have turned—now, not a single one of them even sees as relevant.”

Pausing briefly, Eternal chuckled and said, “And why should I care? They’re all dead n walking; what use is respect from corpses?”

Before long, the back mountain grew more crowded as nearly all sect representatives had arrived.

It was at this mont Leroy Rhodes appeared at the entrance alongside several other sect masters.

“This banquet concerns the very survival of the Southern Province. Everyone, remain calm,” Leroy reminded them.

A nearby attendee retorted with a snorting laugh, “If you can actually convince the North Plain to leave the Southern Province, we’ll respect you.”

Leroy chuckled and said, “Relax, I promise I’ll do everything in my power to persuade Eternal.”
