Chapter 327: Uncle seeks wisdom from nephew, you want to harm (2 more updates) Chapter 327: Uncle seeks wisdom from nephew, you want to harm (2 more updates) Finn Hale raised an eyebrow:
“She’s young?”
“Am I old?”
The first ti Finn Hale t her was during a recruitnt interview at the studio. She had just graduated from college, holding slightly rough design drafts, sporting a ponytail, and dressed in a black and white suit that didn’t quite match her age, yet her youthfulness was unmistakable.
At that ti, the assistant had lanted,
“Here cos another newcor, I really feel old.”
She was probably like a calf not afraid of tigers and indeed, was bold.
She even dared to question the studio’s already famous designer.
After being in society for a while, she had lost her naïveté and beca more cautious.
Like being in a den of wolves, coupled with the fact that her relationship with Finn Hale was fake, she naturally felt nervous around these cunning people.
Especially Hannah Johnson,
So close.
Her perceptive eyes seed to see right through her.
Finn Hale’s gaze casually swept over Hannah and he said softly, “It seems it’s been a while since I last saw you.”
“Last ti we t was at the Payne Family’s recognition banquet.”
Hannah Johnson was smitten with a little tan puppy and didn’t interact much with Zoe Payne.
Finn Hale nodded in agreent and said, “You’ve gained weight.”
Hannah’s face darkened instantly.
But since he was an elder and it was her first ti bringing her girlfriend, she couldn’t exactly lose her temper.
She was instantly annoyed.
She was just curious about Sussie Lopez and asked a few extra questions.
Was this his way of “getting back at her”?
Uncle Finn, truly wicked from childhood to now.
Who knew what kind of love potion he gave to this beautiful girl; wasn’t dating him exhausting?
But as soon as Finn Hale said that, everyone turned their gaze toward Hannah.
Sussie Lopez, not being close to her, didn’t know her previous appearance and thought her figure was quite slim now; where did he see her gaining weight?
“Ahem—” The old lady coughed to signal Finn Hale to be more careful.
But the people of the Hale family were all cunning, with only Wyatt Hale and Logan sitting together, still struggling with what to call each other. It was obvious during the al that these two…
Were not that close.
Old Sir Hale cleared his throat, “Let’s get ready for dinner.”
The Hale family was lively tonight, but everyone maintained their composure, and the topic didn’t revolve around Sussie Lopez but instead, it was about Zoe Payne’s wedding.
“I don’t know what you like, so I just made so random dishes, please don’t be shy,” Lily Lott, being the eldest sister-in-law, took extra care of her and served her a lot of food with the public chopsticks.
Sussie Lopez just bowed her head and quietly listened to their conversation.
“…Hannah, when are you and Isaac Shea planning to register and get married?” The grandfather looked at Hannah.
“We’re not in a hurry.”
Hannah and Isaac Shea hadn’t been dating for very long.
Being sowhat afraid of marriage, she was in no rush and preferred to get to know him better.
Isaac Shea was also young, and the Shea Family was even less in a hurry.
To change the subject, Hannah looked towards Zoe Payne not far from her, “Zoe, when are you and William planning to have a kid?”
Zoe Payne was taken aback.
She was just eating her al; why did the spotlight suddenly turn to her?
William Hale retorted, “Her leg still needs care; it currently isn’t suitable for pregnancy. If my cousin likes children, she could always have one herself.”
Hannah let out a low laugh.
There it was, the ball kicked back to her court.
She tilted her head and suddenly looked at Simon Hale, “Simon, at your age, you should think about dating.”
Simon Hale: “…”
Sussie Lopez just quietly watched this family kick the taphorical ball around.
The Hale Family seed different from what she had imagined.
The dining atmosphere was not oppressive; sotis Wyatt Hale would blurt out a comnt, which was quite funny.
The attention of the elderly Hales was focused on Finn Hale.
Between serving dishes, peeling shrimps, and pouring drinks, they had never received such treatnt from their son.
Sussie Lopez felt that Finn Hale was just making a show, but to the elderly couple:
Their rebellious son
Clearly had fallen deep!
—
As dinner was almost over, William Hale seized the opportunity to ask his uncle, “How do you trick people into cooperating and acting with you?”
“Learned from you.”
“…”
Finn Hale had thought of quite a few thods, but there were very few people around him he could learn from.
William originally tricked Zoe Payne into the Passport Card, pondering,
This thod, soone had tried and succeeded.
It’s feasible!
Worth a try.
First trick the person to your side, then plan step by step.
William never imagined that his uncle would steal his tricks, and just smiled, “Do we have to keep this a secret from Junior President Payne?”
“For now.”
Mainly because after Iva’s incident, Payne Corps had many sses that urgently needed handling, so he genuinely didn’t have spare ti or energy to worry about his sister-in-law’s issues.
Hearing this gave William a headache.
If they didn’t work out, that would be one thing.
But if they did, and it blew up, with his cousin demanding accountability, he definitely wouldn’t trouble his wife, but his brother-in-law…
“Uncle, I suspect you want to get into trouble.”
“I believe even if sothing happens, you could use your wisdom to skillfully resolve it, you’re not like Little Wyatt, all height and no brain.”
William’s expression remained unchanged.
Comparing him to his brother, that comnt didn’t sound like a complint in any way.
“Tell more about how you tricked your niece-in-law into coming ho.”
“…”
By the ti the uncle and nephew finished talking and returned to the living room, Wyatt Hale had already sat down next to Sussie Lopez, and they had even exchanged contact information.
“Can I talk to you more often in the future?”
“I’m usually quite busy, but I’ll respond when I see your ssage.”
Wyatt, being an anomaly in the Hale family, naturally had a likable personality.
Facing the Hale bigwigs, Sussie naturally wanted to get closer to him subconsciously.
“Just now I took a few photos of you and your sister-in-law, want to send them to you?” Wyatt sneakily took so photos.
“Sure.”
“What did you take!” Wyatt exclaid, “Absolutely amazed!”
“Truly, beauty really does make a difference.”
“Not a single photo looks bad.”
Sussie: “…”
“I thought you were so movie star when I first saw you at your sister-in-law’s store.”
“How can soone be so beautiful.”
“Tell , being so good-looking and yet so outstanding, what exactly did God deprive you of?” Wyatt showered her with flattery, making Sussie sowhat embarrassed.
This pack of wolves from the Hale family, how…
Did they end up with such a goofball!
How did this kid even grow up this big.
Zoe Payne chuckled softly, “That’s just how he is, you’ll get used to it.”
Wyatt knew he had to cling to this aunt-in-law of his; that way, he would have good days ahead within the family.
Left hand sister-in-law, right hand aunt-in-law.
Simply having the world!
His shaless attitude made the rest of the Hale family snort, especially Logan, who particularly disliked his ways.
But seeing him getting along well with his future aunt caused him anxiety.
Yet he couldn’t bring himself to be as thick-skinned.
“Where’s cousin?” William looked around the living room.
“Teacher Shea went for a walk with her,” Zoe answered.
“Going for a walk in such cold weather?”
The night was deep, and the temperature in Capital City had dropped below zero.
“Cousin said she felt suffocated and uncomfortable staying in a heated room too long, so she wanted to go out for so fresh air,” Zoe marvelled.
“She also ntioned that she’s been getting car sick easily lately, and I’ve prepared so oranges for her to bring along. It should help alleviate so of the discomfort.”
“Is sister ill?” Wyatt mumbled.
“How long has she been like this?” the Old Lady asked urgently.
Zoe shook her head, “Not sure, but it’s been a while. She thinks it might be because she’s been too tired from work lately.”
The Old Lady and the two daughters-in-law exchanged glances.
Hannah Johnson might be…
