By the next evening, AiLin had gotten her makeup done by herself. Li ZiChen had offered her the idea of having soone taking care of her hair and makeup but as she felt uncomfortable being touched by soone she wasn’t close with, she refused his offer politely and had gotten dressed up by herself. At first, she had planned on wearing one of the many dresses she had gotten with Vicky but by the ti she had gotten out of the bath, she found a red dress that were set on the side of her bed.

She stared at the glimring fabric that seed to be embroidered with countless of gems. It looked red, bright red, crimson, as if it was symbolizing her courage to be seeing her enemies, those devils who had hated her so much.

Now that she found out the truth about Mrs Jiang’s affair, she had planned to make a wreckage for everything that they held dear. Just like they did to her, it was only right for them to feel what it felt losing everything to the point of madness when you had never deserved that loss.

She didn’t think much, holding the gorgeous red gown, she could only find herself smiling as Li ZiChen must have taken so much ti to choose this for her even though she heard from Nanny Po of how busy he had been since his father was preparing to retire and move all his responsibilities to Li ZiChen’s hands. Although AiLin wasn’t far too aware of the situation in Li Corporation, she heard that there was a part of the shareholder who wasn’t too keen on having Li ZiChen as the next CEO of Li Corporation.

She didn’t know why and though she wanted to ask, she wondered if it would be overstepping the boundaries.

The distance they had now was good. It wasn’t too close nor far. They know enough about each other and that’s good, she didn’t want to be too involved, she didn’t want to bring her misfortune to soone ever again.

Sighing, AiLin looked over her cupboard, her hands about to bring out the bottle of sedative when she recalled Li ZiChen’s concerned face back in his office and halted her movents involuntarily.

"Sigh damn it," she couldn’t even ruffle her hair for fear of ruining her artwork of the loose curls she had been doing the past two hours. Though she felt the desperate urge of drinking the sedative, truth is, she didn’t really need it and had only done it out of a bad habit. She decided to curb that desire by stepping outside and drinking a plain water. She then turned back to her room to finish dressing up.

When she had gotten outside, she saw Nanny Po who was rustling in the kitchen and when the older woman saw her, the boredom in her eyes lit up into excitent. She rushed toward her, "Oh dearest! Oh dearest! So beautiful! Miss you look exactly like a fairy."

AiLin chuckled as Nanny Po turned around her to look at the entire dress and nodded happily as though she was proud.

"Can I take a picture of you?" Nanny Po inquired happily.

AiLin wasn’t too keen with picture but seeing Nanny Po being excited she nodded and allowed the old woman to take a couple of pictures from her. Then Nanny Po settled at the pictures she took while AiLin saw that Nanny Po was not cooking but bringing a few objects into the fridge.

"That’s a lot of food," she comnted. "Did you cook all of that yourself?"

"Those? No, no," Nanny Po replied, "It’s the food that was left in the main house."

"Main House?" AiLin inquired and seeing the old nanny who was too focused on the pictures, she saw that the old woman carelessly replied,

"Young master ZiChen’s main house. This is his apartnt and most of the maids and cooks are in the main house. I would usually cook but young master asked for so congee made by the cooks to be delivered here so I ca back to drop it off."

AiLin slowly turned to Nanny Po.

So if this is his apartnt, why didn’t he go back to the main house? A lot of servants and also cooks, by the sound of it the main house must be a large mansion with a lot of privileges, it would be better to live there rather than going to a smaller apartnt right? Seeing he didn’t completely move to the apartnt ant that he also still wants the house. But wouldn’t that be a waste of money to take care of a large mansion when he always cos ho back here?

"But why?" She voiced out.

"Because there’re too many servants," Nanny Po folded her phone in two and pushed it into her apron pocket, "Because he said that you dislike too many people. Young maids and servants are nosy and he didn’t want that to bother you as well."

Her lips parted on its own, a sound of faint gasp "oh" left from her mouth involuntarily. She found her heart warm and woozy, her head wondering if he had really gone as far as leaving the large house to live in a smaller one for her sake.

Li ZiChen never said this to her but she was now certain that there were more things that she was still unaware of that he had done for her sake.

What else? Li ZiChen, why?

Half an hour later, AiLin received his ssage, asking if she was prepared and he was waiting downstairs. She looked at her own reflection on the elevator’s mirror, fixing her hair ticulously, making sure the baby hair to fall on her forehead in a perfect curl, and that her dress didn’t look too gaudy or wrong at so places. Her heels found itself tapped a few tis as if she was nervous and she only stopped it when soone entered the elevator and then looked at her curiously.

The couple then whispered amongst themselves, questioning if she was an actress who were going to get an award with how gorgeous she was.

When the elevator arrived at the ground floor, the couple rushed forward first. AiLin sucked her breaths into her lungs. Her eyes then carefully looked outside, seeing the tall handso man whose hair had been combed neatly on his left side while so locks were let loose on the side of his right forehead. A red necktie, a smooth black velvet suit along with a gold necktie clip which had the similar gems embedded as in her gown.

He was the first to look at her, that handso man’s light brown eyes seed to be wider when he seized her figure, his mouth faintly open, and a look of shock cover his face then it turned into amazent as he walked closer to her like soone who was enchanted by a gorgeous delectable apple.

Reaching out his hand, Li ZiChen found himself awkwardly smiling, questioning if the smile in his face didn’t look too creepy with how wide it was spread. He then clenched his reached out hands, not knowing what to do but found himself praising her first, "You’re beautiful. You make that dress so pale in comparison."
