Chapter 417: Clarification
Ye Qiao even thought of two won who had recently opened a clothing store and a boba tea shop. She arranged to have people investigate them as well to cover all grounds. Although Dong Xian’s family was quite rich, they would not be so suicidal as to fra her.
Ye Qiao that she was in the right and there is no way those accusations will stick. However, Lu Xiaogun made it clear that he will not be helping her. Thus, she must tread carefully.
She sorted out the invoices and receipts for the supplies that were purchased for the flood victims. Pair those up with so photos and videos of the donations on scene, she was confident that it would be able to clear up the allegations.
Qiao Tian still didn’t know why Ye Qiao wanted him to take such photos and videos. He found it troubleso to do as he was already responsible for having the supplies distributed to the victims’ hos. However, how could he not listen to Ye0 Qiao’s orders? He assigned one of the volunteers to take the photos and videos Ye Qiao asked for.
“Qiao Tian!” Ye Qiao called out when she arrived at the relief centre where he worked.
When the disaster victims saw Ye Qiao, they imdiately recognized and went up to her to wish her.
Ye Qiao gave them a warm greeting and said to an elderly man, “Grandpa, I told you that our hotown is just nearby. Technically, we’re from the sa hotown. It is our duty to help each other. We’re a family!”
As she spoke, she even showed the “Family” logo written on her t-shirt.
“Qiao Tian, what about the tasks I told you to do for ?” Ye Qiao pulled Qiao Tian to the side and whispered.
“I’ve arranged for Zhi to do it,” Qiao Tian said as he looked around for Zhi.
Soon, Zhi ran over. He said that he had a stomachache and went to the toilet. Ye Qiao asked him to show her the cara. She was in a hurry because she had to prepare for the press conference the next day.
Ah Zhi quickly gave it to her.
Ye Qiao turned on the digital cara and saw that there was no mory card. All the pictures and videos were not saved!
“That’s impossible! Sister Qiao, everything was still there before I went to the bathroom,” Ah Zhi said with a confused look on his face.
Ye Qiao’s heart skipped a beat.
“Where did you put the cara when you went to the bathroom?” she asked.
“It was, it was in the supply truck...” Ah Zhi told her honestly.
Soone must have stolen the mory card!
Ye Qiao clenched her teeth and fist. How could she convince those gossipy reporters and the public without the proof at the press conference.
At that mont, she knew soone was deliberately ssing things up for her.
“All of you, go and prepare a form imdiately. Record the items that were donated and go from door to door to have them sign it,” Ye Qiao whispered. Although it would easily be claid a fake by the mastermind behind the trouble, it was better than showing up with nothing.

The press conference was held as scheduled.
Su Mu arrived at the conference clad in a white shirt and sunglasses on. The past few days had been tough on him due to the allegations made against him. He looked a little dispirited considering that this was the biggest scandal he had faced since he debuted. He had to stand in front of all the flashing caras taking pictures, microphones to record what was being said and all those pesky reporters.
However, Ye Qiao was nowhere to be seen at the venue. She hadn’t shown up when the press conference started.
“... I, Su Mu, once again emphasize that all the donations I have promised have been donated to my most trusted non-governntal charity, the ‘Family’. I also believe that the charity has been using the funds collected specifically for the aid of the flood victims in terms of daily necessities and supplies. Besides that, I would like to continue by saying that Miss Ye Qiao and I are simply just friends. We have never had been in a romantic relationship and I truly trust her as the head of the said charity to do their best for the flood victims,” Su Mu said during the conference as he recalled what Lu Beixiao had said and done to him.
He also rembered when Lu Beixiao told him that if he and Ye Qiao got too close, it would bring unnecessary trouble to her. Considering the situation that they are in now, Su Mu felt guilty.
“Su Mu, soone revealed that the charity money received by the ‘Family’ was not used in the disaster area. Instead, it was allegedly claid that you and Ye Qiao had kept the money for personal gains. How would you explain this matter?” one of the reporters questioned.
