...

It was already evening by the ti Margaret returned to Far City after the al.

The afterglow of sunset lingering on the horizon created shades of red and orange across the sky.

In the lonely rose garden, the flaming masses of red roses were so bright and cheerful, speaking of their love quietly.

The air conditioner was on in the glass room as well as the lights. The gentle light cast gentle gauze on the woman’s delicate face.

The beautiful woman stayed quietly in the hazy light, full of questions.

After she ca back, Julian turned away from her.

Then, Margaret hid here. She suddenly felt that they had no words for each other.

Could it be that their marriage was one of convenience, instead of love, so that they were possible to beco strangers at any ti?

Margaret sighed. When she looked up, she saw Julian get into the car. The car crossed the yard and drove out of the door.

"Where did he go? It’s so late."

Margaret ran out of the rose room and asked when she saw Evan was there.

Evan was a little surprised when he saw Margaret suddenly appear. He thought that Margaret was still sleeping in the rose room.

He replied honestly, "Mr. Jorgansen is heading for the hospital. Miss Jessie said Mr. Aedan has taken a bad turn."

"Jessie called him?"

Evan nodded, "Yes. It seems that the situation is very urgent."

Margaret pursed her lips as her brows contracted.

Whenever the howrecker had sothing to say, it would always be urgent.

Or how could she call Julian away?

"Playa!"

Margaret rolled her eyes angrily and walked back into the house.

The click of high-heels pounded louder in the quiet garden.

Evan looked at Margaret’s back with a puzzled expression.

"Playa? Who is she talking about?" he wondered.

At the midnight, the sound of the car engine was particularly abrupt in the quiet courtyard.

Evan hurried over to open the door. The man in the car rubbed his eyebrows and asked, "Where is Margaret?"

"Mrs. Jorgansen went upstairs after dinner and never ca down. At this ti..."

Evan glanced at the window upstairs. It was dark and quiet. He could only say, "She must fall asleep."

"She’s asleep?" Julian wondered as he looked up.

A trace of exhaustion flashed across his face, and in the end, his gaze beca clear and sharp.

He looked at the window. It was so deep that he could not see the situation inside. He waved his hand and said, "Prepare so food and send it to the study room."

"Mr. Jorgansen, are you going to rest in the study room tonight? I’ll get soone to clean it up."

It had been a long ti since Julian had rested in the study. The last ti seed to be a year ago when Julian first brought Margaret here.

"When did I say I am going to sleep in the study?" Julian’s voice instantly beca low.

Evan reacted.

He quickly said, "I’ll get soone to prepare the late-night snack for you and Mrs. Jorgansen."

Julian did not speak again and walked straight into the villa.

While Margaret was sleeping, a dark figure appeared beside her.

The shadow carefully crouched down and whispered, "Mrs. Jorgansen, Mrs. Jorgansen..."

"I have the morning off. I’m not in a hurry," Margaret mumbled.

A trace of embarrassnt flashed across the little maid’s face. When she saw Margaret turning back, she nervously glanced at the door.

She continued, "Mrs. Jorgansen, Mr. Jorgansen is back. He asked you to accompany him for the midnight al."

"Why does he need around? It’s just a al. Does he think I’m his maid? I’m not going."

Margaret hugged the quilt in her arms. She wanted to sleep now. No one could pull her up.

Margaret used the quilt to wrap herself into a ball and buried her head in the quilt.

Regardless of whether the maid behind her left or not, she was asleep anyway and she would not get up.

"Mrs. Jorgansen, Mr. Jorgansen said that if you don’t get up, he will co to wake you up later."

The little maid blushed and shyly finished her words. At these words, the person in the middle of the quilt imdiately sat up.

Margaret’s hair was loose and her pajamas were wrinkled. She threw the quilt in her arms under the bed, looking like she woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

"What’s wrong with him? It’s only one al. Why does he have to tornt others? Is he so hungry? Why doesn’t he eat with Jessie?"

Maybe Jessie had prepared a feast for him.

The maid was a little scared when she looked at the grumpy Margaret. She picked up the quilt on the ground and carefully put it back on the bed.

She comforted Margaret in a small voice, "Mrs. Jorgansen, please don’t be angry. Mr. Jorgansen is still waiting for you in the study."

"If he wants to wait, let him wait. Am I a woman that he can threaten casually?" She grabbed the quilt and covered her head again.

The maid beside the bed was a little anxious. She knew that she would better not disturb Margaret when Margaret was asleep. But she did not expect that she would be so irritable after being disturbed.

The little maid checked the ti and wondered, "That’s weird. Mrs. Jorgansen is usually awake at this ti."

"Mrs. Jorgansen, don’t be angry. I’ll go out and tell Mr. Jorgansen."

The maid quickly ran out of the bedroom in fear.

On the big bed in the room, a ball of the quilt moved. Margaret, whose face was flushed with anger, lifted the quilt and grumbled, "Why didn’t she close the door?"

She turned off the lights and returned to the bed.

In the study, the man had just taken a shower.

Evan brought the midnight al over. Julian glanced at the door and frowned. "Where’s Margaret?"

Evan’s face hardened and he said in a low voice, "Mrs. Jorgansen is sleeping soundly... We can’t wake her up!"

Evan could not help but secretly wipe his cold sweat.

"Mrs. Jorgansen was furious. Mr. Jorgansen must be in trouble this ti," he thought to himself.

"Is she really asleep?" said Julian doubtfully.

He walked to the table and took a look at the food but did not have any appetite. "Mr. Jorgansen, after you left today, Mrs. Jorgansen seems to be a little unhappy." Evan thought that Margaret should be very unhappy since she called Julian a playa. "She is unhappy?"

"Mrs. Jorgansen asked where you were going. When she heard that Miss Jessie called you out, she said that you are a playa."

Evan dutifully told Julian what he knew. Julian cald down when he heard that.

"I understand. You can go out and rest. I’ll get soone to clean up these tomorrow."

Evan nodded and quickly left.

The night gradually beca quiet, and the scented candle was also burned, and the sll began to thin.

The figure on the bed moved and soon heard the lock turning.

He slowly walked to the bedside, paused for a mont, then lifted the quilt and lay down.

Margaret did not move. The next second, she was held by him and pulled back, falling into that familiar and warm embrace.

"I know you haven’t slept yet. How can a night owl suddenly turn into an early bird?"

The woman in his arms suddenly turned around and glared at him through the darkness of the night, "You..."

Just as she opened her mouth, she was kissed.

The room was dark but Margaret accurately saw the outline of his face and his smiling eyes.

...

"Why are you back?"

Margaret blushed after the kiss.

Fortunately, it was too dark at this ti, and Julian could not see the expression on her face.

But at this mont, she thought of sothing and pushed the man away. "Don’t bother . I want to sleep," snapped she.

She was about to turn around but was held tight in his arms.

Julian lowered his head and kissed her on the shoulder in the night.

"When do you sleep so early?"

"I’m tired today. Can’t I sleep early?"

Margaret rolled his eyes, her tone full of dissatisfaction.

She seed to hear the man’s low laughter in the dark. Julian pinched her cheek and received Margaret’s dissatisfied resistance. His arms tightened even more.

He held the woman in his arms and said in a hoarse voice.

"Evan said that you are not happy."

"Why am I not happy? I am totally fine. I have a great ti."

Margaret’s crisp voice sounded in the room. It was tender and coquettish.

Julian did not let go of her and only said, "Then why don’t you accompany for dinner?"

"You are the one who ca back late. Why should I wait for you to have dinner? Why don’t you have dinner when you’re free and happy outside?" Margaret said angrily.

The more she spoke, the more annoyed she felt. However, she could not break free from the man. This made her even angrier.

"Who says I’m free and happy outside? How many n have you seen was happy when he visits the elder in the hospital?" said he.

"I don’t care who you accompany." Margaret was still angry.

"It was because of Jessie!"

In the night, Julian’s voice was exceptionally clear.

With certainty and low, it reached Margaret’s ears.

Margaret was about to retort but stopped when she heard Julian’s voice sound. He said with a faint smile, "I didn’t expect that my Margaret will be jealous."

"Who’s jealous? What’s so good about you?"

Margaret removed the man’s hand from her head and turned around angrily. "Don’t disturb . I want to sleep," she snapped.

She wanted to sleep now and didn’t want to sleep with this man.

Julian didn’t make things difficult for her. He lowered his head and gave her a gentle kiss on her head and said in a deep voice, "Good night."

With that, he closed his eyes. The room fell in silence again.

Margaret could feel that the man’s even breathing was slowly spreading out over her head.

Her gentle breathing was breezing her hair. All that ca into her ears was a faint itch.

Margaret was completely awake now.

She stayed in the man’s arms for a long ti and could not help but say, "Julian, are you asleep?"

"You want to be awake? Are you inviting ? It’s so late. Are you sure you have the energy to get up early tomorrow and go to the company?"

Margaret shrunk. Then she realized what he said.

She turned around with a surprised expression, "Go to the company?"

It couldn’t be that his company was going to close down and let her go over to split the property, right?

Did it an she would be able to be a free rich woman in the future?

"Aren’t you bored at ho? The position of my personal secretary is vacant. I can barely accept you as my secretary," said the man without lifting his eyelids.

His voice ca from the top of her head, as calm as if he was talking about sothing unrelated to him.

"You want to be your assistant?" Margaret exclaid in surprise.

Julian pulled her closer.

He slightly opened his eyes, revealing a trace of displeasure.

His eyes were as attractive as pearls at night.

"It’s my personal secretary. My assistant is Alan. You can’t replace him."

It was because she was too stupid to do what Alan could do.

"Should I go back to the company with you tomorrow?" she asked.

It had been a long ti since the last ti she went to the Jorgansen Group. Margaret beca excited at the thought of Lily and Sumr. Finally, their gossip trio

reunited.

"It’s fine to be your secretary. Anyway, I have done it before."

She was Julian’s secretary. Everyone in the Jorgansens knew her. In the Jorgansen Group, she was like a walking CEO tracker.

Everywhere Julian went, everyone there would see the figure of her.

She was welcod and honored and flattered.

These were her best days.

"Okay, I’ll be your secretary. I’ll be in the office tomorrow."

Margaret responded with satisfaction when she would finally get back to her base.

She turned around, hugged the quilt, and obediently closed her eyes.

Tomorrow morning, she would be the revered secretary again.

In the dark, the man behind her curled up the corner of his lips. He hugged the person in his arms tightly, closing his eyes to rest.

"Mrs. Jorgansen, it’s ti to get up!"

Margaret heard the familiar voice again as if she had a long dream.

She turned around and muttered, "I won’t be Julian’s al pal."

The maid looked embarrassed and said, "Mrs. Jorgansen, it’s ti for you to get up. Mr. Jorgansen will be coming back from jogging. Aren’t you going downstairs for breakfast?"

Evan instructed her to get Mrs. Jorgansen downstairs for breakfast.

Sure enough, the person on the bed squird a little and grabbed the quilt tightly, muttering, "What breakfast? I never eat breakfast."

It was fine for asking her to have dinner.

"But ... Evan said that it’s your first day at work today. It’s not good to be late on the first day. If you don’t get up, you won’t have ti to have breakfast," said the maid patiently.

She thought about asking the kitchen to prepare so food later.

The quilt on the bed was tightened first, and then Margaret sat up from the bed in horror.

"Right! I have to work today."

As a professional woman, being late to work was a strict no-no.

Looking at Margaret who suddenly jumped off the bed, the maid was stunned, and then she said anxiously, "Mrs. Jorgansen, you haven’t put on your shoes."

Although it was sumr now, it was cold to step on the tiles.

The maid handed the shoes over, and Margaret hurriedly put on it and turned to the bathroom.

"Find a uniform. Choose a beautiful suit, please."

It was her first day to get back to the workplace, and she must give everyone a good impression.

At this ti, Margaret only had one thought in her mind. If she wanted to be a qualified escaped wife, the first thing she had to learn was her self-survival skills.

She had to live on herself before she could divorce Julian at any ti.

Looking at Mrs. Jorgansen who was happily changing her clothes, the maid couldn’t help but smile.

Mrs. Jorgansen was very energetic!

When Julian ca back from the morning, he saw Margaret, who was wearing a white chiffon shirt and a short skirt, sitting on the sofa in the living room with a dignified smile.

When she saw Julian, Margaret’s face curled into a spirited smile as she greeted him in a clear voice, "Good morning, Mr. Jorgansen!"

"Wonders never cease." thought Julian in surprise.
