It was night. Hilla looked up at the tall building. She hesitated for a while before she went in.

Although they moved here not long ago, Hilla liked the neighborhood very much. She liked the balcony and the floor-to -ceiling window most, through which she could admire the view of the lake and River City.

It was a quiet place in the busy city, where she could imagine wildly.

Hilla was a designer and she felt comfortable here.

Although she wanted to stay with Bruce every day, she didn’t want to depend on him completely. She was afraid that she would change and beco too dependent on Bruce. And then their love would change too.

They were just like two people in college. One promised to support the other forever and one promised to take care of the other forever.

Everything will change when the person who claid to support was always under good care.

Hilla got on the elevator and looked at the screen. She suddenly beca nervous.

Should she return so rashly?

Did she need to send Bruce a ssage first so that he could get prepared?

When Hilla had this thought, she suddenly found it funny. It seed that she would catch Bruce with soone else in the bed or she would be abandoned.

Halle said that Bruce was a normal man. The word left a deep impression on Hilla and she would subconsciously think of Bruce in a bad way.

Nobody knew whether it was because she didn’t trust Bruce enough or because of her nature as a woman.

Standing at the door, Hilla took a deep breath as she looked at the lock. Then, she smiled gently.

Maybe because Hilla was lack of confidence. She thought that Bruce loved her just because she was beautiful and young.

But a more beautiful woman would appear at any ti.

All of a sudden, she understood Halle’s thought about Horton and felt sorry for Halle.

She could be with Bruce for the ti being, but they might separate in the future.

When a woman was lack of sense of security, she would try to prove that her man loved her only by all ans.

Hilla felt that she was just like that. She insisted on starting the studio in the countryside. And now she was anxious and ca back to check in on Bruce.

She knew that she was childish, but she still did it.

Thinking of this, Hilla entered the password. It was wrong.

Hilla was stunned. She stood in front of the door and looked at the blue numbers.

She bit her lips and then entered the password again.

It was still wrong.

Hilla was shocked and thought that Halle’s word ca true.

She didn’t give up and entered the password she rembered clearly repeatedly.

But nothing changed.

It was wrong.

Hilla was at a loss and looked at the door. She was in great fear.

Wasn’t this her ho? Why couldn’t she even open the door? Why couldn’t she enter the room?

Did she make a mistake sowhere or did Bruce move?

Hilla thought of countless possibilities. In the end, she took out her phone and called Bruce.

His phone started to ring inside the door. Although it was faint, Hilla still heard it.

Bruce was ho.

As Hilla let out a sigh of relief, her hands didn’t stop sweating. She held the phone tightly and stared at the door.

After a while, a gentle voice of a woman ca from the phone, "Sorry. The subscriber you dialed cannot be connected for the mont. Please redial later."

Hilla was stunned.

She could hear the phone ringing. Why didn’t Bruce answer the phone?

Hilla redialed three tis and nobody answered the phone.

Did she lose her ho again?

Hilla stared at the door and then focused on the lock. She began to enter the password again. She tried her birthday, Bruce’s birthday, and even Margaret’s birthday.

Hilla tried the birthday of all the people who were related to the Anderson family and herself, but they were all wrong.

Hilla stood at the door, her eyes red, and stared at the lock that was shining with blue light. Suddenly she laughed.

It was true that everything in this world was unreliable, let alone n. Halle was right and Hilla found herself whimsical. Bruce was just a normal man. She should not expect too much of him.

Hilla had never discovered that Bruce had an affair before, but was it difficult for him

to have one?

Hilla wiped her tears off, turned around, and walked towards the elevator.

When the Holt family disappeared, she should be aware that she was holess.

Bruce only gave her a temporary illusion.

Hilla rushed downstairs and sat in her car. She didn’t know what she was thinking, but it seed that she thought about everything.

Everything flashed in her mind and she suddenly felt very sad.

Hilla didn’t take Halle’s words seriously at first. But when the password was wrong, she wanted to kick on the door hard and asked Bruce to open the door. Then she would scold Bruce severely.

But Hilla didn’t want to do that. It was too disgraceful. She didn’t want to beco a shrew. But she didn’t know why she was abandoned.

When Hilla was trying her best to stop herself from crying, it started to rain heavily. How dismal!

Bruce ca out of the bathroom and casually dried his hair with a towel. He looked out the window. It was late and he frowned slightly.

It was raining. Hilla should be ho soon!

Bruce looked at the candles on the table not far away and smiled. Then he walked towards the coffee table in the living room slowly.

It was raining so heavily. He was a little regretful to ask Hilla to co back today.

Bruce turned on the phone and was stunned. He saw the missed calls on the screen and felt that there was sothing wrong.

Then he subconsciously glanced at the door and quickly walked over to open it. It was empty and there was only a gust of cold wind.

...

Sitting in the car, Hilla looked out of the window. The rain beat against the window, which made a loud sound.

She looked at the scenery outside and her eyes were moist.

She thought that she was overthinking, but everything seed to be reasonable.

When people beca stubborn, they would always think that they were reasonable.

Suddenly, Hilla’s phone rang.

She looked down. It was the number that she had called several tis but no one had answered. However, at this mont, he was calling her over and over again.

She had kept calling Bruce. But now, it was his turn to wait.

Hilla bit her lips. Looking at the screen of the phone that was flashing, she chuckled.

Ridiculous! When she called him, he was at ho. Why did he call her now?

Hilla hung up the phone. She was still angry with Bruce. Then, she switched her phone off.

She thought, "Maybe I could go to a hotel."

Hilla muttered, "It is not a big deal." But then, she cried.

She was crying not because of Bruce, but because she thought that what she had given to Bruce in the past two years was aningless.

In the room.

Bruce looked at his phone and frowned. A cold gaze flashed in his eyes. It would be a lie to say that he was not worried.

He didn’t think too much about it and called her again. This ti, she had turned her phone off.

Turned her phone off! The heavy rain outside slapped on the window, which made him be worried.

He was not sure if Hilla had co back, but he was sure that sothing must have happened to Hilla.

Bruce didn’t dare to think about bad things. He called Halle.

Halle was busy because of the sudden rainstorm. There were many materials in the yard. She and Samuel had to get all of them inside.

Seeing that there were no losses, she was relieved.

"Halle, your phone is ringing." Samuel was packing up and reminded Halle.

Halle glanced at it, and then walked over slowly. When she saw the number, she

subconsciously frowned.

She thought Bruce should be with Hilla at this ti and should not call her. But now, this call seed to be sending her an unfriendly ssage.

"Did sothing happen to Hilla?"

Halle did not wait for Bruce to speak and directly asked. The bad premonition in her mind, along with Bruce’s short silence, suddenly beca worse.

"Where is Hilla? Is she ho now?"

No one had expected that there would be a rainstorm tonight. Neither Halle nor Bruce had expected this.

Accidents were easy to happen on rainy days. Halle was worried about her sister.

Hilla drove alone. The road here was narrow, and there were so many trucks. There were many locals who had accidents on this road every year.

Halle beca nervous. Bruce said, "She hasn’t co back yet. Her phone is off."

"What? Hilla won’t do sothing like this!"

Moreover, she left with delight. She should have arrived at River City now.

Halle frowned and suddenly bit her lip. "Are you..."

"I haven’t seen her yet. Don’t worry. I think she is angry with . She might contact you."

"No, she didn’t contact ."

Halle bit her lips. Was Hilla angry? Why? It seed that there was sothing wrong between them.

Although she should not interfere in their problem, Halle was angry at this ti.

She asked Hilla to go back but she didn’t expect that Hilla would run away.

"I will find her."

"If she contacts , I’ll inform you."

After Halle cald down, she replied to Bruce. The man on the other side was silent for a mont, and then he hung up.

Hilla’s sister was angry with him!

In the car, Hilla was crying. Suddenly, she stopped.

She thought, "Why should I surrender? I am his wife. Even if Bruce could not control himself and sleep with another woman, I should not easily let them go."

It was shaful for her to hide and cry. She should not cry. They should.

Hilla made a decision. She wiped away the tears on her face and smiled coldly, and

then took out costics from her bag.

Even if she had to be an ’abandoned woman’, she needed to be beautiful!

Bruce was older than her. Even if he was attractive and rich, he was not worthy.

Hilla thought, "I don’t need him at all."

She beca more and more gorgeous because of the makeup.

Before she could finish her makeup, she saw a familiar figure run out of the apartnt.

Bruce had changed into a simple ho dress. His hair was half- wet, and his eyebrows were tightly knitted. She could feel the anxiety of the man not far away through the window and the heavy rain.

Bruce took an umbrella and didn’t walk to his car directly.

At this ti, the rainstorm was mixed with thunder. The wind was howling crazily.

Although the rain would stop soon, he couldn’t wait.

Hilla watched him in a daze. Bruce was looking for sothing with an umbrella. The umbrella was slightly tilted by the wind. It was not hard to tell that he had just co out. His clothes were almost all wet.

Hilla could tell that Bruce was anxious. Why? Wasn’t there a beautiful lady at ho?

Why did he run out at this ti? Was he dumped by that woman?

Hilla thought evilly in her mind and smiled coldly.

Soon, Bruce’s figure disappeared around the corner. He seed to be looking for sothing in the other place. Hilla blinked. She was not that narcissistic to think that Bruce had left the beauty to find her.

Moreover, Bruce did not know that she had returned!

Hilla bit her lip and sat quietly in the car, watching Bruce appear in front of her again.

But now, Bruce was wet all over like a drowned rat.
