The next day at the hotel, Hilla went out alone.
She had been here for a year, and she had her own social circles. Although she never liked mingling with strangers, she was active in parties and gatherings in her circles like most young people.
Bruce woke up in the morning only to find his wife had gone. He was stunned on the bed for a long while before he accepted this fact and sent a ssage to Hilla.
Hilla replied to him readily.
After parted for a year, his wife had beco more independent. In the ssage, she asked him to focus on work and do not worry about her, since she was safe with her friends.
Bruce sneered in his heart, "At least she knows to tell she is safe!"
But besides her safety, what Bruce cared about the most was who those friends were, males or females. How long had she known them?
Therefore, today in the eting of the Anderson Group, all the shareholders and managers had to face their president’s cold face.
To compare Bruce’s moods to the weather, yesterday’s regular eting was still sunny and cloudless, but in today’s quarterly eting clouds had gathered and the temperature dropped.
The managers were so scared that they quickly flipped through the reports and data charts in their hands, to see if their selling had dropped or if there was a loophole. They didn’t want to be unprepared when the president later asked about it.
Jas presided over today’s video conference and saw the things through. It must be that Mr. Anderson and his wife were not going well, and it affected their eting.
It was said that work was work and family was family. One couldn’t bring one’s emotions into work. These words only applied to the staff at a lower level.
After all, which leader could be immune to love? Which boss could avoid endocrine disorder?
Mr. Anderson must have been celibate for a year, and now he broke out in Pinecastle.
Jas coughed lightly and was just about to speak when he heard Bruce on the other end of the video cut him off. "Are you sick? Don’t stay in the company lest you might infect others. I now give you three days off. The eting will be resud after I return."
And then he hung up... without any warning.
They thought that there would be a storm, but it cald down just with a splash?
All eyes were on Jas, aningfully.
He just let out a cough which was not more audible than a sneeze, and then Mr.
Anderson postponed the quarterly eting which was held once in four months.
He even gave Jas a holiday, albeit he pretended to be disgusted.
How much business was there in the Anderson Group? How busy was a president? They all knew it well.
All of them had been busy as a bee since Mr. Anderson went aboard, but the president gave Jas a holiday... just because of a trivial cough!
Director of Finance said, "Jas, I had a stomach perforation at the beginning of the year. I ca to the company while I was put on a drip. The president did not afraid that I will infect others. Mr. Anderson really cared about you!"
HR said, "Last month, my wife gave birth to a child. The president gave two hours off and said that was enough. On my way back to the company, my wife gave birth. She left the delivery room and didn’t see . By now, she refuses to let enter the nursery room. Mr. Anderson treated you so well!"
The sales manager said, "I applied for my wedding leave three months in advance, and the president has not approved it yet. I’m afraid that if it dragged on, I would never get married as long as I am in the Anderson Group. But Mr. Anderson just gave you a holiday!"
All departnts looked at Jas with admiration, but clearly, they were not envious at all.
They got it!
Jas shakily stood up from his chair, pretending to be calm, but his mind was in a ss.
He prayed all the colleagues and leaders didn’t look at him like that. He was just a humble assistant. The president suddenly gave him a break, which only made him feel that he could not take it.
"Ladies and gentlen, why don’t we end here now?"
Jas forced a smile of ease.
Others all thought,
"Jas, you and the president..."
"I got a call. It’s very important. I have to answer it now. Excuse !"
Jas felt he was saved. He wanted to heave a sigh of relief and thanked this caller who had helped him to leave the awkwardness.
However, when he looked down, he was stunned. The next second, he directly pressed the answer button.
"Mr. Anderson!"
After saying that, he felt his throat itch and wanted to cough. But thinking of the previous episode, he quickly held back.
If Mr. Anderson prolonged his holiday, he would get fired.
"Go to Pinecastle imdiately and take over the branch here."
Bruce said coldly, and then added, "In three days!"
Jas was dumbfounded. What did the president say to him? He felt that he had suddenly lost his hearing.
Back then, it was Bruce who insisted on personally handling the matters of the branch company. He had tried to dissuade him because it was unnecessary...
Then he was almost thrown on the door. Now, Bruce had only been there for a day, and he changed his mind.
But if he wanted him to go to Pinecastle, he could just say so. Why should he claim to give him a holiday during the eting before everyone else?
Was this a holiday? This was clearly overti!
Jas answered bitterly. As soon as the president hung up, he bought a plane ticket.
It was not easy to be the assistant of a president. It was even more difficult to be a considerate assistant to a president who was so elusive.
At noon that day, Jas had already packed his luggage and boarded the flight to Pinecastle.
Soon, rumors spread in the company.
Jas, handso and capable, could no longer resist the pain of lovesickness after receiving the president’s hint. He flew to Pinecastle on the sa day, and the two of them were going to get married aboard!
...
When Hilla returned to the hotel, the night had not yet fallen.
She had drunk so wine in the afternoon and was a little dizzy at this ti. However, when the handso attendant offered to send her back to her room, she politely rejected.
If Bruce saw, he probably would get fired. Hilla felt that she has done a good deed again!
She groped to the elevator, tried hard to discern the number, and pressed the button. Then she began to rub her temples, feeling a terrible headache.
She had to train her tolerance to alcohol. After returning ho, there would be more social activities. She did not want Halle, who was a mother, to co back with the sll of alcohol.
The elevator opened. Hilla looked up and saw a young man in a suit standing at the door of her and Bruce’s room.
Before she could see him clearly, the door opened. Bruce stood there with the lower part of his body wrapped in a bathrobe. His telltale wet hair showed that he was just out of a shower.
Hilla stared with her mouth agape, but before she could make out a sound, she saw the man enter their room.
After that, Bruce closed the door!
Hilla was stunned. After staying in Pinecastle for a year, she had not only absorbed professional knowledge but also broadened her horizon.
Especially in the aspect of love affairs, she had learned a lot.
However, Bruce liked n...
She had only been away for a year and Bruce turned to n... What had he gone through?
She had seen a lot of homosexual couples in Pinecastle, and she always wished them well.
But the notion that Bruce was a bisexual caught her off guard.
Hilla tumbled, feeling the alcohol was gaining the upper hand.
How could Bruce like n? She would feel better if it was a woman. But now even a man wanted to compete for her man. How could she endure this?
Rushing forward, Hilla smashed the door, "Bruce, open the door. I want to catch..."
Before she could finish, Bruce, who had heard the commotion, did not even have ti to tie up his clothes before he hurriedly went forward and opened the door.
The door opened and revealed Hilla standing there with her cheeks flushed red. And then she threw herself into his arms.
"You drank?"
Bruce frowned and held Lucy tightly. He glanced at Jas, who had just entered the room to take over his work.
Jas gasped as soon as he saw Hilla. Bruce had been grumpy for a day. Hilla showed up at this ti, drunk.
He had to slip away right now.
When he just reached the door, Hilla, who had nestled in Bruce’s arms like a rabbit, rushed out and grabbed his collar.
After all, she had practiced martial arts for years. Jas staggered by her attack.
Fortunately, he maintained balance and did not knock into Bruce. Otherwise, he would have been cut to pieces.
"Who allows you to leave? Stay here, you little..." Hilla was unsure how to call him.
Hilla blinked her blurry eyes and stared at Jas, who was about to fall to the ground as being dragged by her.
"You look familiar."
Hilla burped and muttered with a frown, "You look pretty good. Why do I feel I know you?"
"M-Madam, I’m Jas!"
Jas stole a glance at Bruce, feeling helpless.
"Your wife is grabbing my clothes, and I don’t dare to struggle. Who do you think should be blad?"
Bruce was obviously unwilling to have his wife grabbing another man and not let him go. But he could neither beat her nor roar at her... What was the point to shout at a drunken woman?
He could only softly persuade her, "Hilla, he is Jas, my assistant. You caught the wrong person."
What he did not say was, "Your husband is here. You can grab as you like. I will absolutely obey."
"Jas... why is your assistant a man?"
Hilla released her hand in a trance. Jas heaved a sigh of relief, and protested in his heart, "I am a man, to begin with!"
"No, you can’t have a man by your side. Change him to a woman."
Hilla waved her hand and grabbed Bruce’s bathrobe as she roared. Jas, who had just felt relief, now had his heart jumped to his throat.
He was fired by Bruce’s wife!
He looked at her president with a grievance.
"What did I do wrong? Bruce, please don’t agree!"
However, Bruce had no principle before Hilla. He cald said, "Okay."
He agreed!
This had really gone too far.
Jas felt that he should listen to Hilla rather than Bruce in the future.
Hearing Bruce’s answer, Hilla raised her head, cupped Bruce’s face with both hands, and tiptoed to kiss him on the lips.
Then, she chuckled and said, "You are so nice. I like you."
Bruce was very satisfied!
"I like you, too."
After saying that, he glanced at Jas, who was still standing stiffly at the door, and said coldly, "You want to keep watching?"
He did not, and couldn’t bear to watch them.
They were affectionate to the point of nauseous. He wondered if his mory was wiped out after he went out.
Jas swiftly walked out without looking back. The mont he stepped out of the room, a gust of cold wind blew from behind him.
Then with a bang, the door was closed behind him.
He didn’t want to stay here any longer. He was afraid that he would hear sothing that he shouldn’t know.
Jas tried to shake off his goosebumps and left in a hurry.
In the room, Hilla hugged Bruce’s arm tightly and kept chuckling, "You’re so obedient. I really like you."
"Thank you."
"You are so handso, I like you!"
"You are also beautiful. I like you, too."
Hilla pulled Bruce onto the bed and kept saying that she liked him. Bruce was cheered up after being depressed all day.
Reaching out to undo the buttons of Hilla’s clothes, he was stopped by Hilla in the next second. Hilla stared at him vigilantly and said, "Who are you? What are you doing?"
How much had she drunk? He didn’t know whether he should praise her for coming back safe in this state or warn her seriously.
"I’m your husband, I’m helping you change your clothes and take a shower."
"My husband, oh, take it off then!"
Hilla nodded obediently. She loosened her hands and leaned over to him.
She was cooperating but he beca shy.
He rubbed his eyebrows and said, "How much have you drunk?"
Hilla gave a laugh, "Why should we drink wine? Affection intoxicates people more than wine. Co, open a bottle of 1998 vintage."
