Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend Chapter 123: My Man Is the Most Charming
Looking at the bump on Hilla’s forehead, Halle frowned. How could she be fine when being hit like this?
"I’ll bring so ice over. It’s getting swollen."
"I’ll go!"
Before Halle finished, Horton turned to the kitchen. He took ice from the refrigerator and brought the dicine kit over.
"What’s wrong with you? You actually bumped into soone while walking. How careless you were. It must hurt a lot."
Halle kept frowning.
Hilla smiled and shook her head. She looked at Halle in tears, "I’m fine. It’s just that I was careless. It doesn’t hurt anymore."
"Do you feel dizzy?"
Horton asked, not nervous at all, as if he was checking on ordinary patients.
Hilla shook her head, "No."
Hilla’s brain was fuzzy today. And she was dizzy. The hit only helped her snap out of it a bit.
"Does she need an X-ray or CT scan?"
Halle looked at Horton worriedly. Fortunately, there was a neurologist, otherwise, Halle would be worried and couldn’t sleep at all tonight.
The bump was not large. Ice was put on it and the swelling was reduced a lot soon. It wasn’t serious, but it was heart-rending.
"You don’t feel dizzy, so the wound is superficial. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get a concussion."
As soon as Horton finished, Halle frowned. She was unhappy with Horton’s sloppy work.
However, they were unrelated to him. He really didn’t have to care much for that.
Halle pursed her lips and looked at Hilla, "Does it really not hurt anymore? Shall I take you to the hospital?"
"I’m fine. I was in a hurry to go downstairs and tripped. And it just sounded very loud when I bumped against the door. It didn’t hurt at all."
After comforting Halle, Hilla rembered sothing important and turned to look at Horton with a smile, "I asked you over because I need your help."
Horton didn’t expect Hilla to ask for his help and seed to listen carefully. He didn’t mind helping her at all. But Halle was displeased when he was here.
"I’ll perform an operation in the afternoon tomorrow."
Horton hoped that it wouldn’t delay him from treating his patient. After all, saving lives was paramount and he was still very cautious about it.
Hilla nodded, "I only need your help tonight. I won’t keep you from operating on the patient tomorrow."
Horton chuckled, "What do you need for?"
He could never do anything that Bruce could do. With Halle present, he didn’t dare to do anything.
"I want you to do so modeling!"
"Modeling? I’m not going to try a new profession."
Besides, Horton was afraid that he wouldn’t be good at other things.
Horton’s knowledge of modeling was confined to magazines and the internet. He didn’t know much about fashion but the boring dicine instead.
"All you have to do is stand there and try on sothing I made. You don’t have to leave your job."
Hilla smiled sweetly with her chin in her hand and her eyes narrowed, as if sothing pleasant popped into her mind.
One would feel happy if he did what he liked.
Halle looked at Hilla and guessed what she was thinking. She pursed her lips and did not say anything. Instead, she continued to read aside.
It seed that Hilla asked Horton to help, and it had nothing to do with Halle.
Horton nodded. Standing in place, he stretched out his arms, "Bring the clothes over!"
It turned out that he just needed to try on so clothes. It was indeed simple. He originally thought Hilla called him over in such a hurry for sothing crisis.
"I haven’t made any clothes yet!"
Hilla acted innocent. Horton frowned, "You’re not asking to wait here for you, are you?"
Hilla nodded, "Tailored clothes have to be altered to fit your figure at any ti so that they fit you better."
Horton faked a smile. Hilla put it so easily. It wasn’t made for him. So did it make sense for him to fit?
"How long are you going to make it?"
"Let’s see. To begin with, I should draw a design."
Horton thought, "You don’t even have a design, yet you dare to call over to try
on clothes. What’s wrong with you?"
Horton sat on the sofa and said helplessly, "Hurry up and draw!"
He was never gonna leave tonight.
Halle put down the book in her hand and stood up, "I’m going to prepare so fruit."
Since they were not going to bed, Halle would prepare more food. Anyway, she was pregnant and wouldn’t stay up late with them.
Halle got up and went to the kitchen. Hilla frowned with a pen in her hand, "Halle, just gotta stop working on it. I’ll do it."
How could Halle use a knife when she was pregnant? Hilla was worried and was about to get up. Seeing this, Horton stopped her and said, "Hurry up and draw. I’ll go help."
Hilla held the pen and her brain was no longer slack. After she made a video call with Bruce, her mind beca sharp.
She got the inspiration. With Horton’s help, she sat back and drew what ca to mind.
Hilla thought that if she were to design a male outfit, she most wanted to make it for the man she loved. So this was the the of her design, ’Love’.
Hilla soon buried herself in the design. She kept thinking about Bruce’s face, as well as the way she felt his body at night, its temperature, and the contour.
Halle ca out of the kitchen and was not in a hurry to go back to her room. It was still early, so she could work on it with Hilla.
"Didn’t you say that you just needed to hand in the design for the competition tomorrow? Why are you in such a hurry to make it?"
Halle sat aside, dignified and elegant, with the peach dress lending her so vim.
She was noble and elegant. The Holt family started out in the knitting industry. And she preferred vintage elents to those of fashion.
"Yeah, I just need to turn in the design at present, but I want to get it done as soon as possible."
Hilla’s earnest eyes shone and the joy in her voice was hard to hide. Halle pursed her lips and smiled, "It’s for him."
Otherwise, Hilla would not draw with love in her eyes. Only one in love would have such a look on her face.
And one only felt that way when she made clothes for the man she loved. Hilla whispered, blushing, "I was just inspired. It has nothing to do with him."
Halle smiled but did not say anything. It was good that Hilla knew her own mind.
Others should not interfere with it.
However, seeing Hilla work on it with such joy, Halle felt much better.
When Halle saw Horton coming out of the kitchen with compote, she didn’t take him as an eyesore anymore. Halle did not stay away from him in disgust as usual but even took the compote in Horton’s hand.
Seeing Halle’s gentle smile, Horton felt flattered and almost dropped the compote!
...
"The color suits elites like them. What do you think?"
Halle chose one of the many pieces of cloth that Hilla brought back and asure it on Horton.
She looked natural and intimate, not as cold as she used to be to him. Horton straightened his back and it was stiff then!
He thought, "Halle actually approaches and even puts her hand on . Is she flirting with ?"
Horton was just wondering, but he didn’t expect Halle to burst his bubble so soon.
"Dr. Hutt’s shoulder is slightly narrower than Bruce’s. I’m afraid you’ll need a larger size and longer sleeves. Dr. Hutt is thinner."
Halle’s critical words instantly wiped out the last bit of rosy illusions that Horton just had.
It was so kind of Horton to try on clothes for Bruce, but Halle even complained that he was not in as good shape as Bruce. He felt like having egg on his face.
As a man, he couldn’t bear it.
Hilla propped up her head and listened to Halle’s advice. She recorded the asurents and smiled, "They’re quite unlike in disposition."
Horton was speechless.
However, for Bruce’s sake, he didn’t bother himself retorting Hilla.
However, Halle listened to Hilla’s words and sized up Horton’s figure carefully.
Horton’s whole body tense up and he wanted to turn around and run away.
Won’s eyes were sharp enough to see through everything.
When Horton thought about how Halle disliked him for not being as good as Bruce, he felt inferior!
"Yeah, they’re indeed different, but they’re very similar in height and build. Dr. Hutt is more cultured. The cloth probably doesn’t suit Bruce."
Halle picked it after she asured it on Horton. When Hilla reminded her, she thought it was a little light. And Bruce was stiffer and more solemn. So Halle turned around and took two pieces of cloth in different colors.
"How do you feel about these two?"
Hilla looked at them carefully and then pointed to the left with a smile, "I like this one, but that color looks good. Why don’t I make one for spring and one for winter? Then Bruce can wear both."
Horton thought, "Bruce’s wife is a tailor. How happy he is!"
Turning around to glance at the piece that Halle threw away without any pity, Horton coughed and gave his opinion, "I think that is a good color."
Then he looked at Halle, but Halle and Hilla were discussing the design details.
Horton was largely invisible. No, he was completely ignored!
At this mont, Horton felt like a mannequin in front of a departnt store.
"Aren’t you in a hurry to design? You must be running out of ti with all these designs for him!"
Besides, Bruce had more clothes than there are days in a year. Did she have to make clothes for him?
Horton tried to join in their discussion. Hilla poked her cheek with a pen, and when she smiled, the mole under her eyes was particularly striking.
Hilla was in a good mood with her voice lodious, "It doesn’t matter. I can finish one first and make him the other when I have ti. He’s in no hurry to wear it anyway."
Horton couldn’t argue with any part of it.
Hilla and Halle threw themselves into making clothes and Horton felt like a mannequin. They asured with different fabric on him, with needles and threads in their hands.
If Horton had known how painful it was, he would not have refused a video call from abroad and rushed over.
He felt bad when witnessing PDA as a bachelor.
"Is this one good?"
Hilla finally revised the design to her satisfaction and showed it to them.
Halle nodded with approval, "Bruce will like it."
Horton mocked inwardly, "Even if Hilla gives Bruce a rag, he will treasure it as a silk handkerchief and carry it with him."
"Horton, what do you think? Will Bruce like it? Do n have different tastes than us?"
Hilla showed it to Horton nervously, looking particularly warier than she was in the competition.
It was the first gift she had ever given Bruce, and she made it with her heart. Although it was the thought that counted, Hilla still wanted to give him the best present.
Horton glimpsed under the spectacles, then smiled gently, and replied coolly, "It looks good."
Horton was not the one to wear it, so he didn’t care if it looked good.
"That’s great. Halle, let’s take a break. I’ll do the rest myself."
They got the job done!
Horton was relieved and finally didn’t have to stand here and sigh for being single.
"Halle, are you hungry? Margaret said that she would rush to finish her project tonight and would not be back in the dorm. I didn’t ask the maid to co over tonight. Let’s order delivery!"
Hilla couldn’t cook, so the easiest way she could think of was to order delivery. "No, it’s unhealthy for pregnant won."
Horton spoke and his face sank. Then he walked to the kitchen, but only took a step or two further before he stopped and turned to Halle, "What would you like to eat?"
"Do not bother. We..."
"Halle said yesterday that she felt like eating spicy eggplant and mashed potato."
Halle was interrupted by Hilla when she wanted to say sothing. Halle shot Hilla a displeased look, but Horton nodded and replied, "Wait a minute, the food will be ready soon."
"In the past, I really didn’t realize that Dr. Hutt actually has a taste for cooking. A man who can cook is really charming!"
Holding her chin, Hilla couldn’t help praising Horton as she looked at him, who was occupied in the narrow kitchen in a pink apron.
Halle lowered her eyes and saw Hilla’s phone screen light up. She looked at the ti and it was 9 p.m. However, it was still midnight at Bruce’s place. He seed to have slept for less than four hours.
"Who do you think is more attractive, Horton who is cooking in the kitchen, or Bruce who wants to see you in the middle of the night?"
Halle pointed at the phone on the table. Hilla suddenly ca to her senses and took it. She smiled and said, "Of course it’s my man who is charming!"
In the kitchen, Horton overheard them talking.
He was imdiately dispirited. Staring at the potatoes in front of him, he did not want to cut them.
Horton thought, "Am I out of order? Why did I stay and cook for them? What does it have to do with whether Halle is well-fed? The baby she’s carrying isn’t mine. Why should I care?"
