Lin Qian was terrified, quickly helping him up as she shouted, "Chu Yelin, wake up! Don’t scare like this!"

Chu Yelin still had a trace of clarity left.

He slowly opened his eyes, his blurry vision falling on Lin Qian’s anxious face, and he reached out to grab her hand.

"Qianqian, I think I’m going to die!"

"No, you’re not going to die! We’re taking you to the hospital right away."

Tears welled up in Lin Qian’s eyes as she looked up at Su Yu’an standing by. "Yu’an, quickly call an ambulance."

Su Yu’an, his expression heavy, nodded and hurriedly made the call.

Chu Yelin tugged weakly at the corner of his mouth and coughed uncontrollably, blood suddenly spurting from his mouth.

Lin Qian’s tears instantly slid down her cheeks.

She reached out, using her sleeve to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth, her voice choked with sobs, "Chu Yelin, hang in there! The ambulance is almost here."

This was the second ti. The second ti Chu Yelin had been injured saving her.

He couldn’t let anything happen to him!

If sothing happened to him because of her, she would be wracked with guilt for the rest of her life!

Chu Yelin swallowed the blood mixed with saliva in his mouth, his narrow eyes deeply fixed on Lin Qian. His sharply defined hand gripped her slender fingers tightly.

"Qianqian, four years ago, I hurt you. I want to ask for your forgiveness. Can you... forgive ?"

Upon hearing this, Lin Qian nodded without hesitation, "I forgive you. I forgive you! Chu Yelin, everything is in the past now, I just want you to live!"

If he could survive, she was willing to let go of everything that had happened before!

Seeing Lin Qian’s tear-streaked face, dirty from crying, Chu Yelin chuckled lightly, revealing blood-stained teeth.

Even in such a tragic state, there was strangely an added hint of devilish allure.

He moved his lips, his pitch-black eyes seeming as though they had been touched by starlight at this mont. "Qianqian, if I can survive, would you promise to marry ?"

Promise to marry him!

Lin Qian’s sobs froze, crystalline tears streaked across her cheeks as she stared blankly.

Chu Yelin was asking her to answer this question at a mont like this.

She had never considered this possibility!

How was she supposed to respond?

Seeing Lin Qian’s dazed appearance, the strength in Chu Yelin’s hand tightened slightly.

He gazed at her steadily. "You can’t? Is it impossible for you to marry ? Even if it’s just for the sake of our son?"

The brilliance in the man’s eyes gradually dulled in that mont.

It resembled a deathly stillness filled with despair.

Lin Qian’s heart clenched hard. She hurriedly said, "Chu Yelin, you have to hold on! I promise you, as long as you live, I’ll marry you!"

She couldn’t let anything happen to him!

She had to temporarily reassure him—there was no way she could let him lose the will to live!

"Really? Qianqian, I’m so happy! With those words, I’ll definitely hang in there!"

The light returned to Chu Yelin’s narrow eyes.

He wanted to say a few more words, but his consciousness grew muddled, and he slowly closed his eyes.

"Chu Yelin, don’t close your eyes! You have to hold on!"

Lin Qian shouted loudly, her face full of urgency.

"Qianqian, the ambulance has arrived. Let’s get him to the hospital first."

Su Yu’an, who had witnessed the entire exchange between the two, furrowed his brows deeply, his gaze filled with a complicated expression.

Chu Yelin had actually chosen this mont to propose to Lin Qian?

And Lin Qian had agreed!

It had to be said—Chu Yelin really knew how to seize the mont.

So... had Yin Moran lost his chance?

Su Yu’an watched quietly as two police officers carefully lifted Chu Yelin and carried him downstairs.

His hand still clung tightly to Lin Qian’s.

Lin Qian didn’t spare a second thought, following the group’s steps.

"Sir, your arm is injured too. Let’s head to the hospital together."

One of the police officers noticed Su Yu’an’s minor injury and said.

Su Yu’an thanked them, thought for a mont, then took out his phone to send Yin Moran a ssage.

Lin Qian had almost encountered an accident—he needed to inform Yin Moran.

For so reason, between Chu Yelin and Yin Moran, his instinct leaned toward Yin Moran.

Maybe it was because Yin Moran was his cousin?

Or perhaps it was because he didn’t want to see Lin Qian married—not for now.

Even more than that, he didn’t want to see her agree to such a proposal under these circumstances.

Because she wasn’t doing it willingly!

At the hospital, Chu Yelin was rushed into the ergency room.

Lin Qian stood at the door, staring blankly at the illuminated red light above, her heart still floating in unease.

He would be fine!

Chu Yelin had always been lucky; he would definitely be fine!

"Miss Lin, could you please give an account of what happened?"

A police officer approached to take a statent, and Lin Qian nodded, recounting the events in detail.

After recording her statent, the officer left. At this mont, Xu Xinyi hurriedly arrived.

"Lin Qian."

Hearing soone call her na, Lin Qian turned around and saw Xu Xinyi rushing in, her expression full of worry.

She had already notified Xu Xinyi while in the ambulance.

"Lin Qian, how is Yelin?"

Xu Xinyi, slightly out of breath from running, asked as she gazed at Lin Qian.

"He’s still in ergency care. I don’t know his condition yet."

Lin Qian replied truthfully.

Xu Xinyi’s eyes reddened as she looked at Lin Qian. "What happened? How did he get hurt?"

She had rushed to the hospital as soon as she received Lin Qian’s call, without having ti to ask about the details.

She only knew Chu Yelin was injured but had no idea what had occurred.

"He got hurt trying to save ."

Lin Qian’s face showed a hint of guilt as she explained the situation briefly to Xu Xinyi.

Xu Xinyi listened attentively, her eyes reddening further.

"Another chest injury? His previous wounds haven’t healed yet!"

Indeed!

Not long ago, he’d taken a knife for her, and now he’d taken a bullet for her.

Ever since eting her, he’d been plagued with one misfortune after another!

Lin Qian’s guilt deepened, her lips pressed tightly shut, and she said nothing further.

"He’ll be fine! He’ll definitely be fine!"

Xu Xinyi walked to the side, clasping her hands together and closing her eyes to silently pray.

Lin Qian stood motionlessly, staring at the red light above the ergency room, her mind void of words.

At that mont, Su Yu’an’s voice rang out nearby, "Qianqian."

Lin Qian turned around to see Su Yu’an striding toward her.

He wore a jacket draped over his shoulders, with his shirt sleeves rolled up high, revealing faintly visible layers of gauze wrapped around his arm.

"Yu’an! Are you alright?"

Lin Qian quickly stepped forward, her brows furrowed with worry.

"Nothing serious, just surface wounds."

Su Yu’an flashed an assuring smile at Lin Qian.

"Are you sure it’s nothing serious?"

Lin Qian scrutinized Su Yu’an’s arm, asking again.

"Yeah, just scratches."

"Then that’s good."

Lin Qian let out a small sigh of relief, then suddenly rembered sothing and urgently asked, "What about Gu Yan? I recall she fell down the stairs. How is she?"

At this, Su Yu’an paused, a fleeting but hard-to-read emotion flashing in his eyes—a mix of heaviness and relief.

"She’s unhard herself, but... the baby in her womb is gone."

Lin Qian: "..."

Gu Yan had miscarried?

She had tumbled down the staircase, taking the baby in her womb with her?

Lin Qian was stunned, staring at Su Yu’an’s face as she hesitated to speak, her lips trembling slightly. "Yu’an... the baby in her womb..."

Was the baby in Gu Yan’s womb Su Yu’an’s?

Should she voice her suspicions to Su Yu’an?
