Upon hearing Lin Qian’s words, Chu Ziyang quickly shook his head.

"Mommy, I’m really not unhappy. Once I join the National Research Institute, I can’t co ho every day anymore. I don’t want that. I just found Mommy, and I can’t bear to be apart from you."

Mommy thought he was upset because he couldn’t get into the Research Institute.

But only he knew why he truly felt unhappy.

He couldn’t put it into words.

So tired!

"Silly child!"

Lin Qian’s face was full of tenderness as she gently teased the little one for a mont before hanging up the video call.

Thinking about the little one’s household registration issue, indecision filled her heart.

Should she try to address this matter about the child with Chu Yelin directly?

But he had just rescued her, and if she ruthlessly cut ties with him so soon, wouldn’t that make her seem heartless, like an ungrateful wretch?

Forget it, better to wait a bit more.

Once Chu Yelin’s health improves, she’ll find an opportunity to discuss the matter with him slowly.

"Mommy, it’s ti to tell Candy a story and put her to sleep!"

The adorable Candy, snuggled up in Lin Qian’s arms, had quietly listened to Lin Qian and Chu Ziyang’s conversation, then coquettishly hugged her neck.

Lin Qian couldn’t help but laugh, her heart turning soft.

The trio was always so in sync.

She first settled the two brothers and then dedicated her remaining ti to Candy.

"Alright, Little Candy, what story do you want to hear tonight?"

"Hmm..."

Candy buried herself deeper in Lin Qian’s embrace, glancing up with her big, sparkling eyes. "Since Mommy has already chased the demon away, Candy doesn’t need to hear the story of Monkey King’s battle with the Bone Demon. Tell the one about the Little rmaid instead!"

Lin Qian: "..."

This little rascal! Why is she so adorably quirky?

Lin Qian pinched the tip of the little one’s delicate nose and kissed her fragrant little cheek. "Candy, Mrs. Qiao’s been good to you, you know. You shouldn’t be so sarcastic to her, alright?"

Even though she was touched by the little one’s desire to protect her, she hoped Candy wouldn’t develop too much prejudice against Mrs. Qiao.

After all, her affection for Candy was genuine.

"As long as she doesn’t try to steal Daddy from Mommy, I’ll like her. But Mommy, you have to promise Candy, you won’t give Daddy to her, okay?"

Candy hugged Lin Qian’s neck tightly, her big eyes blinking as her childish voice piped up.

Lin Qian’s lips curved into a soft smile as she tucked Candy into the quilt.

"Alright, as long as your Daddy isn’t a shaless flirt, I won’t hand him over to anyone, okay?"

As long as he harbored no romantic feelings for Qiao Xiya, she’d follow her heart.

"Hehe, Mommy, don’t worry. Daddy’s definitely not a shaless flirt!"

"Alright, sleep tight now. I’m about to start telling the story!"

Lin Qian tucked the little one in snugly, picked up a picture book, and started the bedti story.

Standing at the doorway, Yin Moran, who had just arrived, listened to Lin Qian’s soft and gentle voice. The corners of his lips curved faintly, and a glimr of amusent sparkled in his deep black eyes.

This little woman truly made him both love and feel exasperated at the sa ti.

The irritation he’d harbored in his heart earlier had already dissipated in the wake of her spirited defense of her position earlier in the day.

She ordered him around so naturally, as if it were the way couples effortlessly interact.

Alright then!

For her restraint in not pushing him toward other won this ti, he’d let it slide without bringing up old grievances.

As long as she didn’t choose to be with Chu Yelin just because he rescued her, he wouldn’t get upset!

Yin Moran pursed his lips gently, waiting as Lin Qian tucked the now-sleeping little one into bed. Only then did he push the door open quietly.

Sitting up in bed, Lin Qian was just about to head to the restroom when a glimpse of the tall figure entering the room caught her eye.

Yin Moran was here?

Lin Qian pressed her lips together and raised a slender finger to gesture for silence. Rising from the bed, she pointed in the direction of the restroom.

Yin Moran stayed silent and watched as Lin Qian walked straight to the restroom, then took long strides to follow her.

Before she could close the door, Lin Qian turned around and found the man’s tall, imposing presence already stepping inside.

Lin Qian stared at the intruder, "Why are you coming in here?"

"Didn’t you invite ?"

"When did I ask you in here?"

"Just now!"

Yin Moran smirked lightly, his dark eyes glimring with warmth. "You pointed toward the restroom. Wasn’t that an invitation for to join you? Look, how obedient am I?"

Lin Qian: "..."

Big guy, could you possibly misinterpret things even more?

All she was doing was indicating that she was heading to the restroom!

Utterly flabbergasted, Lin Qian raised her hand to shove at his broad chest.

"Stop ssing around! Get out, I have to use the restroom."

Yin Moran’s tall figure remained completely motionless, his long fingers caught hold of her delicate hand, while the other arm swept her up into an embrace.

The man’s overpowering masculine scent wafted toward her, accompanied by a faintly alluring fragrance.

The grip on her waist tightened, pressing their bodies snugly together.

Her heart skipped a beat as Lin Qian looked up at his chiseled jawline, her voice softening involuntarily, "Why are you doing this? Let go."

"I don’t want to let go. I just want to hold you."

Yin Moran gazed down at her beautiful face, his jet-black eyes shimring with tenderness.

Heaven knows how awful his mood had been these past few days while they were at odds.

He had to admit—she had beco increasingly adept at swaying his emotions.

Though she wasn’t extraordinarily stunning, there was sothing inexplicably captivating about her that pulled at his heartstrings.

Utterly defeated by her!

His voice, low and magnetic, brimming with heartfelt affection, caused Lin Qian’s heartbeat to speed up and her body to grow faint.

He was a complete enigma.

Not only was he stunningly handso, but even his voice was so alluring it could practically make soone fall pregnant!

While she wasn’t obsessed with looks, she was definitely captivated by voices!

When he used that soul-stirring tone and looked at her with eyes overflowing with affection, it was enough to make her lose herself.

Lin Qian swallowed nervously, trying her best to appear less infatuated.

Her hands pressed against his solid chest, and she murmured faintly, "Not angry anymore? I thought you were planning to ignore forever!"

Upon hearing this, Yin Moran’s lips curved slightly, his slender fingers brushing over her soft black hair. "You perford well, standing up for your territory. I don’t want to be mad anymore, not when it might just benefit soone else unfairly."

Her performance was satisfactory?

This man... was absolutely the definition of "tsundere."

If she didn’t take the initiative to close the gap, wouldn’t he have continued sulking indefinitely?

Internally, Lin Qian rolled her eyes dramatically, mocking the self-important man silently.

Her slender fingers poked at his toned chest repeatedly. "Let clarify, I’m neither a saint nor soone easily moved to puppy-love. I wouldn’t repay soone for rescuing by throwing myself at them. You... should rest easy, alright?"

Though she didn’t know what unforeseen challenges might co up later, she was certain of her current feelings.

She had no intention of building a family with Chu Yelin.

She wanted to follow Yin Moran’s path, hand in hand.

Listening to Lin Qian’s soft, tender words, a faint gleam of amusent appeared in Yin Moran’s eyes.

He gently caught hold of her slender, fair hand and brought it to his lips for a light kiss.

"Not a saint nor smitten by anyone, hmm? Qianqian, I’ll happily allow you to harbor a crush on !"

Lin Qian: "..."

Seriously... could this man be any more narcissistic?
