Yin Group’s CEO office.
Yin Moran sat upright in his executive chair, his handso face slightly somber.
His long fingers tapped the desktop rhythmically as emotions swirled indecipherably in his dark eyes.
After a mont, he swiped open his phone screen and dialed a number.
The call connected, and Yin Moran slightly parted his lips, "Professor Min, how is my mother’s condition now?"
"Mr. Yin, the plan we discussed previously is effective so far. Your mother is in a good state now, and her emotions have gradually cald down from the initial agitation. As long as we continue with this treatnt, I believe that over ti, your mother’s depression can be cured."
The old professor’s serene voice ca through the phone, causing a slight stir in Yin Moran’s dark pupils as the corners of his mouth curved.
"Thank you, Professor Min, for your concern."
"It’s my duty."
"...."
After hanging up the phone, Yin Moran set down his device, his handso face regaining its usual composure.
He had already discussed treatnt options with the lead doctor abroad when he sent his mother for treatnt overseas.
The doctor had given him several suggestions.
And he chose the riskiest one.
Past treatnts had always been conservative, and his mother’s depression had been inconsistent without a cure.
This ti, Yin Moran boldly adopted the most stimulating therapy.
The doctor had said that Zhong Liqing’s constant evasion wouldn’t solve the problem; either her mories had to be erased, or external stimuli had to be used to numb her nerves.
After much consideration, Yin Moran decided to have the dical team use the latter approach.
Consequently, the team found a few won abroad who closely resembled the forr secretary to frequently pass in front of Zhong Liqing.
These won were ant to be stressors, to stimulate Zhong Liqing’s nerves until she beca completely numb.
Initially, Zhong Liqing was highly agitated, screaming about murder.
But gradually, with the doctor’s psychological guidance and the aid of various instrunts and dications, her tolerance was slowly increasing, and she could now scarcely control her emotions without falling into frenzy.
Yin Moran leaned back into his chair, his deep-set eyes like a tranquil deep pond, exuding a calm sense of control.
His mother was a person of grace and virtue.
He had to restore her to normalcy; only then, all problems would cease to be problems.
A smile from Lin Qian flashed through his mind, and Yin Moran’s lips curled in a soft, gentle expression.
The grudges of the previous generation were not theirs to bear; they were re bystanders and needn’t be dragged into it.
At that mont, the office door opened, and two delicately carved little figures walked in—their follower was none other than Han Chen.
"Daddy, can we go pick up Mommy now?"
Candy, dressed in a tender pink princess dress with a cardigan draped over her shoulders and her hair done in a princess bun, was exquisitely cute.
She held the hand of Lin Zirui, equally freshly grood; standing together, they looked like a picture-perfect pair, exceptionally charming and endearing.
Yin Moran glanced at the ti on his watch; a pleased smile spread across his lips as he stood up and walked towards them, extending his hand, "Alright, let’s go."
"Yay, we’re going to pick up Mommy and then go shopping."
Candy giggled, exchanging glances with Lin Zirui, and simultaneously, they let go of each other’s hands and grasped Yin Moran’s large ones.
With his large hand holding a small one on each side, Yin Moran led the two little ones out of the CEO’s office.
In the quiet corridor, their reflections shimred on the gleaming glass surfaces.
The man was tall and dignified; the two little cherubs carved in relief appeared almost like extensions of their father as they erged into the public eye.
Secretaries from the secretary’s office gaped as the trio passed by, their faces ripe with gossip.
"Hey, hey, did you see that little boy? Who is he? He seems to resemble Candy sowhat?"
"It’s not just Candy he resembles; I think he bears even more similarity to Mr. Yin."
"Could it be that Mr. Yin has a destitute child out there?"
"Stop guessing wildly, we must ask Assistant Han later."
"..."
At the MXL counter, Lin Qian finished serving a custor and took a sip of water in the break room.
Her cell phone rang, and Lin Qian pulled it out to check, a hint of a smile flashing in her eyes.
It was a call from Little Candy.
After connecting, Lin Qian called out, "Candy."
"Mommy, Daddy, Zirui, and I are already here. Are you off work yet? We’re waiting for you in the underground parking lot."
The electric current carried the sweet sound of the child’s milky voice, brimming with excitent and joy.
Lin Qian curved her lips and glanced at the ti, "Okay, wait a mont, Auntie will be down shortly."
It was about ti; she could get off work too.
After hanging up, Lin Qian stood up, ready to go to the locker room to change clothes and leave work.
Out of the blue, she heard Chen Fei’s teasing voice, "Manager Lin, who are you planning to et after work?"
Lin Qian turned her head and looked at her, laughing, "I have a date with my little lover."
"Little lover? Your son? But I just heard you say Auntie will co down soon. So, besides your son, who else will be there? Manager Lin, are you using your son’s na to go on a date?"
Chen Fei winked at Lin Qian, her face full of gossip.
Lin Qian laughed and tapped Chen Fei’s forehead, "You little girl, how co your ears are so sharp? I think if you ever beco unemployed, you could work as a paparazzo."
"Hehe, Manager Lin, just tell , are you really going on a date with a man? Who is this man? Is it Su Yu’an or so other man?"
"You want to know? I’m not going to tell you."
Lin Qian took off her badge, quickly entered the locker room, and shut the door with a smile.
"Manager Lin, you’re so an, always keeping people on tenterhooks. Manager Lin, just tell !"
"Get back to work!"
"Ah, can’t focus on work at all."
Chen Fei looked at the locker room door with sparkling eyes.
When Lin Qian changed and ca out of the locker room, Chen Fei still had that gossipy look on her face.
Lin Qian scolded her with a laugh and clocked out from work.
Chen Fei watched the slender figure disappear out the door, her smiling face turning serious.
She pulled out her phone and sent a ssage.
Outside, Lin Qian rode the direct elevator down to the parking lot.
The familiar luxury car was parked in its usual spot. Seeing her co out, the two little ones had already poked their heads out, laughing and shouting.
"Mommy."
"Mommy."
Lin Qian felt tender-hearted and quickly walked to the car, where the driver had already opened the door for her.
"Thank you."
She thanked him, pulled the car door open, and got in.
"Mommy, co in quick, sit beside Daddy."
Candy sat in the front row, directing Lin Qian where to sit.
Lin Qian pursed her lips, her gaze sweeping over the man’s long legs, feeling a little uncomfortable as she tidied her hair.
He had put aside his official duties to join them for shopping, giving off the feeling of a family of four on an outing.
It was indeed quite thought-provoking.
