"Grandma..." He looked uncomfortable, eyeing his grandma. He was almost thirty, and still being called "Gugu"?
Grandma laughed, "Okay, okay, I won’t call you that."
So "Gugu" really was his childhood nickna? She couldn’t hold back a giggle, but imdiately felt it was inappropriate when she noticed soone’s piercing gaze. She quickly bent down to pick up Bangbangtang, forcing a straight face, although her twisted features clearly showed how hard it was to stifle her laughter.
"Gugu... Ah, Gui, Grandma will make noodles for lunch, and dumplings too! Want to try so now? You didn’t get to eat Grandma’s dumplings during the Dragon Boat Festival! Grandma will cook a delicious al tonight! Sound good?" Grandma Xu said delightedly about the day’s plan.
Su Ronggui hesitated slightly.
Grandma’s expression changed imdiately, her smile tinged with caution, "But if you’re busy, Grandma will just cook so dishes for lunch! It’s no problem!"
Su Ronggui gave a gentle smile, "Grandma, I’m free; just worried it might be too tiring for you."
"Not tiring at all! How could Grandma get tired? You stay here and play with Yueyue and the others, you young ones always have fun together! Grandma will get things ready!" Grandma Xu bead and nudged him toward the chair.
A wooden canopy was set up in the yard, with a table and a few chairs underneath. Even though the sun shone brightly, the shade inside the canopy was rather cool; various fruits were laid out on the table, all glistening with water droplets. Clearly, Grandma had just bought and washed them.
"Grandma, let help you!" Su Ronggui didn’t seem interested in staying to play with the others.
"No need!" Grandma adamantly refused and called out to Fan Yue, "Yueyue, Yueyue, my grandson ca to visit! You and Little Cui co out and join us!"
Cui Pei went out today, but Fan Yue responded imdiately with enthusiasm. "Hello! So you’re Grandma Xu’s grandson! Grandma talks about you all the ti! Look, she’s even washed the fruit for you; just waiting for you to co!"
With this, Su Ronggui felt it would be rude to leave them.
The three of them, sowhat inexplicably, found themselves sitting around the small table after being coaxed by Fan Yue.
Fan Yue was a talkative person, chatting away energetically until he suddenly realized, huh, these two weren’t speaking?
Realizing why, he felt a bit awkward, "Look at , just talking away, forgot to introduce you guys!" Then he realized it was off; they didn’t even know who she was! So he quickly added, "Let start with myself. Mr. Xu, I’m Fan Yue, Grandma Xu’s tenant. I get along with her like family. This is my best buddy, Tu Hengsha—just call her Little Sha. Uh, Little Sha, this is Grandma Xu’s grandson, nad Xu... Xu..."
Tu Hengsha secretly found it amusing, "I know!"
"You know?" Fan Yue was sowhat surprised.
Su Ronggui thought she would say "Xu Gui," so he simply put on a cold face, too lazy to speak himself, picked up a teacup from the table, and took a sip. He only heard Tu Hengsha say, "Yeah, Grandma Xu just ntioned it, he’s called Xu Gugu!"
"Pfft—" the water Su Ronggui had just sipped all sprayed out, and he choked, coughing.
His skin was already quite fair, and after choking and coughing, a blush crept over his face.
Tu Hengsha had known him for so long, and it was her first ti seeing him in such an embarrassing state. When wasn’t he as calm and composed as the gentle wind and bright moon? She wondered whether the redness on his face was from choking or embarrassnt.
"Xu... Gugu?" Yet, Fan Yue couldn’t believe it and murmured again.
"Yeah! If you don’t believe , ask him yourself!" Tu Hengsha nodded vigorously.
