"Where’s Rongyu? Isn’t it sumr vacation?" Su Rongyu, the child born of her stepfather and mother, was once a thorn in Su Rongxing’s side. As a child, he suffered endless bullying. Of course, that was all in the past.

"He went on a trip with his classmates! He’s the most relaxed of the whole family!" Su Rongxing pouted.

He just smiled, that thin layer of a smile like a human skin mask pasted on his face, keeping a constant arc, no more, no less, just right.

"Does it still hurt?" he asked.

"It doesn’t hurt anymore. You just eat your noodles." Su Rongxing retracted her hand and moved a chair to sit next to him.

While he ate his noodles, she lay on the table watching his profile. He was always so indifferent, even when he gently smiled at her, he seed like the distant moon, close yet far. However, it was the small mole on his eyebrow that added so liveliness to his serene moon-like face.

He noticed her gaze and paused slightly, "What are you staring at for?"

"You’re good-looking!" she said with a bashful smile.

He rely smiled again and continued eating. But even while eating noodles, his manner was elegant and pleasing.

Su Rongxing pressed against a drawer with her chest. It was a locked drawer, and ever since her childhood, from the ti he entered this family, she had been curious about it. Yet, this was an untouchable restricted area set by him.

As a child, she hit him, humiliated him, spat on him, mixed sand into his food, and poured ink on his bed. She did all sorts of bad things, and yet he silently endured, like a mud statue without temperant. Only once, when she pried open that drawer of his and hadn’t had a chance to see what was inside, he returned and flew into a rage. It was from that mont she learned to fear him and never dared to touch his drawer again. Since then, everything subtly changed, just like now. Although she was so close to the drawer, her fingers were even secretly picking at its seam, she didn’t dare to ask him: Su Ronggui, what’s the treasure in your drawer...

Little Sha slled the aroma of zongzi at the doorstep, the sticky scent of glutinous rice mixed with red dates, enticing her appetite. This was the scent of Mom’s cooking.

She opened the door and stuck her head in first, seeing a thin woman cracking walnuts on the sofa.

Shu Hui heard the door open, looked up, and saw her daughter’s mischievous face. She feigned anger with a smile etched with fine lines, "You little mischief maker! Trying to scare Mom?"

"Hehe, Mom, how could I?" Tu Hengsha obediently walked in.

Shu Hui wasn’t scared by her daughter but got startled by Bangbangtang darting from the balcony.

Bangbangtang, a little mutt that Tu Hengsha had brought ho a few months back, got its na because she loved eating candy herself. Shu Hui thought this was the origin of "Bangbangtang’s" na.

The little mutt was especially clingy to Tu Hengsha. Upon hearing her voice, it barked joyfully, darting from the balcony, leaping over the coffee table, scattering walnut shells everywhere, and lunged at Tu Hengsha.

Shu Hui was truly frightened but found herself amused as she watched her daughter roll around with the little mutt, exasperated yet entertained, "What a crazy master and dog pair! The big lunatic raising a little lunatic!"

Tu Hengsha sat down next to Shu Hui with the dog in her arms, eyeing the assortnt of dried fruits in the snack box on the coffee table. She grabbed a handful of raisins and chewed them slowly, pouting, "Mom! That’s not fair! Bangbangtang and I are both your little lunatics!"

Shu Hui was tickled, "Have so sha! Still little?"

"Aren’t I?" Tu Hengsha tilted her head, leaning on Shu Hui’s shoulder, "I’ll always be your baby!"

"Go, go! Get out of my way and let do my work!" Shu Hui scolded softly, unable to hide the smile on her face.

"Mom, aren’t you done wrapping the zongzi yet?" Although the Dragon Boat Festival had passed, she loved eating the zongzi wrapped by her mom. Before coming back, Mom had called to ask what she wanted to eat, and she specifically requested zongzi.

"The salted egg yolk, the salty at, and the red date ones are all cooked. Still need to wrap a pot of eight treasures."

"Mom, let help you?"

Shu Hui had a very disdainful expression, "No! Absolutely don’t help ! You always make the rice fall apart into a ss! It takes more effort to clean up than to wrap them myself! Go cool off sowhere!"
