Fan Yue’s parents quickly rushed to Yanbei, and Cui Pei did not appear; it was Tu Hengsha and others who went to receive them.

Since receiving the news, the two elderly parents hadn’t stopped crying, and Mrs. Fan fainted from crying at one point.

Seeing the haggard appearance of the elderly couple, Tu Hengsha’s tears were drawn out again. They embraced and cried once more at the station, joined by Su Rongyu, who started crying as well while watching.

The four of them cried for quite so ti, and Su Ronggui painstakingly comforted them until they gradually cald down. At this mont, Fan Yue’s father looked around and thought of soone, "Where’s Ah Pei??"

Tu Hengsha didn’t know where to begin, and just as the indignant and outspoken Su Rongyu was about to speak, Tu Hengsha quickly interjected, "We haven’t been able to reach Cui Pei. He might be away on business, as we’ve been unable to get through to his phone."

Mr. Fan, looking pained, nodded, "We couldn’t get through either."

Tu Hengsha noticed Su Rongyu still looking at her with a disgruntled expression and sighed. She simply felt that with the elderly couple’s imnse grief, these bad news should be broken slowly. She feared it would only add to their pain.

Not to ntion how distraught Fan Yue’s parents were upon seeing Fan Yue’s body, the police at this ti raised questions: Fan Yue’s death might not have been a traffic accident and a possibility of murder wasn’t ruled out. However, because the case hadn’t been thoroughly investigated, the police weren’t ready to disclose details; they were just starting to investigate Fan Yue’s network.

The divorce between Fan Yue and Cui Pei could no longer be concealed, and the police wanted to question Cui Pei, but Cui Pei seed to have vanished from the face of the earth.

Tu Hengsha was the last person to receive a call from Cui Pei, and she relayed the content word for word to the police. After enduring the imnse grief of these few days herself, she fell into deep thought. If it was indeed murder, who would want Yueyue dead? Could it be Cui Pei? And what would the motive be? For a couple who were once so in love, even if the love has ended, would it really lead to such a fatal conclusion?

After the heavy blow, Fan Yue’s parents were further devastated, spending their days in tears. Unable to find Cui Pei or a stable place for the elderly couple, Tu Hengsha was uneasy about them staying at a hotel, and Su Ronggui offered, saying that he had plenty of vacant rooms; with Su Rongyu in such a state, they might as well all stay at his place, where Sister Qian could look after them a little.

After carefully settling the elderly ones temporarily, Tu Hengsha was physically and emotionally exhausted. Looking at Su Ronggui, who had been by her side throughout, she said, "Thank you." Fan Yue was her friend, not his, and she knew he never liked Cui Pei and was indifferent even toward Fan Yue. His care for Fan Yue’s parents was all because of her.

He pulled her into his arms, gently stroking her face, "Thank ? From the ti of the incident until now, you haven’t slept, and you haven’t eaten. Aren’t you hungry? Should I ask Sister Qian to make you sothing to eat?"

She shook her head, "I can’t eat."

"Little Sha, listen to . I know Yueyue was your best friend. Losing a good friend is incredibly heartbreaking—I get it. But you have to pull yourself together; there are still many things you need to do." Her face was cold. He ward it with his hand, but since it hadn’t ward yet, he switched hands to rub lightly.

She shook her head in his palm, "No, I’m not worthy of being her best friend. When she needed the most, I wasn’t by her side! I don’t even know what happened to her!" Cui Pei was everything to Yueyue—how could Yueyue bear such a betrayal?

Su Ronggui felt his fingers getting damp again...

These past few days, Tu Hengsha had been wallowing in such self-bla.

"Little Sha! If you truly considered Yueyue a good friend, you should pull yourself together even more! Fan Yue’s uncle and aunt are already very upset. Your poor ntal state would only make them sadder, and crying together in a heap isn’t sothing their bodies can handle. You can’t let them continue crying like this with you! Besides, they’re relying on you during their ti in Yanbei; you still have to help manage Yueyue’s affairs. You need to be strong!" He held her face, looking into her eyes as he spoke.

Her eyes were red, staring at him, "I don’t like dealing with posthumous matters at all! Nor do I want to be strong! Sotis being strong is just another na for having no choice. I wish everyone could live well, freely and joyfully, without anyone needing to be strong..."

He rembered her decisive handling of Grandma’s posthumous affairs...

"Alright, alright, we won’t be forced into having no choice but to be strong; I’ll take care of everything. You eat sothing and then get so sleep, alright?" He leaned down and gently kissed away her tears, "Don’t worry, don’t be sad, I’m here. I’ll always be here."

A soft knocking ca at the door, and Sister Qian asked from outside, "Mr. Su, Miss Tu, I made so noodles. I just served them to the others; would you like so too?"

"Sure!" Su Ronggui replied, opening the door and taking two steaming bowls of noodles from Sister Qian’s hands.

She caught a whiff of the noodles and had no appetite, turning her head away.

He sighed quietly, sat across from her, and slowly talked to her, feeding her bit by bit. Coaxing her this way took over half an hour to finish the bowl of noodles.

He fetched a warm towel and wiped her face. "Good girl, go get so sleep—I’ll be here with you, okay?"

Even though she was sad, she didn’t overlook him. He had been busy taking care of her, claiming that she hadn’t eaten or slept, but hadn’t he been the sa way? His bowl of noodles was already a congealed ss!

"Stop worrying about ! Eat sothing yourself!" She pointed at his bowl of noodles, "Go get a hot bowl!"

He looked at her with an inexplicable and weak air, "If I eat sothing, will you sleep with for a while?" He seed pitiful, carefully and eagerly seeking her agreent.

Her heart softened, and she nodded, "Go get a hot one!"

"This is fine for ! It’s still warm!" He picked up the bowl and ate; to him, it took just a few quick bites to finish it, and afterward, he asked her to fulfill her promise and rest well for a while.

She had no choice but to lie down with him in her arms.

"Little Sha, didn’t you say Fan Yue ca to find you and seed like she had sothing to tell you? Later, did she say anything when you talked on the phone?" He asked as he held her.

Tu Hengsha shook her head, "No, we only agreed to et again when we had ti. We didn’t get to say anything."

It was what she regretted the most!

"Hmm, if you rember anything unusual about Fan Yue, be sure to tell !"

"Okay." And then naturally added, "Of course, I’d also tell the police! Hopefully, they can solve the case soon!"

He rested his chin on her head, holding her tighter, "Hmm, now get so sleep; once you’re rested, you might rember more!"

She was silent.

After several bouts of intense crying, wrenching her heart, she was physically and emotionally exhausted. Snuggled in his arms, breathing in his scent, she truly began to fall asleep.
