Stiffly, she used her foot to circle a small pile of straw, then fumbled on the ground for two small rocks, using them to strike a fire with the little heap of straw.
It really wasn’t an easy task, her bound hands made it hard to apply force, not to ntion this was a "technical job." She struck over a dozen tis without any result, threw away the stones, and searched again. Repeating the process no less than a hundred tis, she finally ignited the straw.
Unable to help herself, she sneezed several tis in a row, feeling that things might indeed be turning for the worse...
She quickened her pace, found so small wood chips in the pile on the ground, used her foot to stack them with the straw, and lit a tiny fire. Then she began to use the fire to burn the rope binding her hands.
Being licked by flas was excruciating!
She braced her arms apart with effort, trying to create a space between her wrists to expose them to the heat, but the flas still licked at her skin.
She gritted her teeth and endured it, shifting away slightly when she couldn’t bear it anymore, then continued.
Afraid of igniting a large fire, she only dared to start a tiny fire in a vacant spot nearby, adding fuel bit by bit when it dimd, and repeating this several tis.
Large beads of sweat rolled down her cheeks. Many tis she felt she couldn’t hold on any longer, but at the thought of Sun Yulin’s look, the purpose of holding her captive likely still related to Su Ronggui, she strengthened her resolve. She mustn’t let Sun Yulin succeed! She couldn’t wait until nightti to die a aningless death; she wanted to live! She couldn’t beco Su Ronggui’s burden! He would scold her!
Thinking of this, she suddenly felt a sense of grievance. At this mont, truly a matter of life and death, engulfed in flas, and all she could think about was him scolding her! It showed just how poorly he treated her! As she pondered, the pain in her hands beca excruciating, it was as if the flas were roasting not her hands, but her heart! Her blood! Her bones! The pain from her wrists beca unbearable, and she broke into tears. Yet she dared not make a sound, tears stread down her face, her grit against her clenched jaw no longer able to combat the pain, she bit down on her lip as if the harder she bit, the more it would resist the pain spreading from her wrists to her entire body...
Finally, when she felt the pain had no end, there ca a lightness at her wrist, sothing snapped.
Her mouth was filled with the sweet, tallic taste of blood, she licked her lips and blood still poured into her mouth.
Unsure if she was choking or for so other reason, she started to cough.
But there was no ti to dwell on this, she struggled a few tis and finally broke free from the ropes around her hands, lifted her arms, and saw that large patches of skin on both wrists were burnt, each with a long line of blisters, in severe areas, raw flesh was even exposed.
No wonder it hurt so much! She coughed twice, gritting her teeth as she untied the ropes on her feet.
First running to the window to check the terrain outside, then gathering up all the straw and setting it ablaze.
The workers’ shed instantly caught fire, and she hid behind the door, shouting, "Fire! Fire! Soone, co quickly! Fire!"
The door was imdiately opened from the outside, she hid behind the door, watching as all the n guarding her rushed into the shed to search for her in the fire, she quickly ran out and shut the door, latching it with the lock.
Next, she had to run for her life.
This was Sun Yulin’s territory, so she dared not take the main road, instead, she darted into secluded areas.
The mountain was not high, yet she was feeling so strain as she ran.
From sneezing to runny nose to coughing, it was a familiar process, she had a premonition of what was coming, so she could only run harder. But she gradually felt powerless, and in the distance, she could already hear shouts echoing from the mountain. She could even distinguish Sun Yulin’s voice.
