Suddenly, Seraphina Redgrave’s forehead was tapped.

She turned her head to look, and Ethan Sterling sat in front of her, his amber eyes watching her: "Why did you drift off again?"

It was only then that Seraphina realized Nathan Ayers had already left, leaving just her and Ethan in the room.

She scooped up a spoonful of soup, feeding it to Ethan’s lips, and said, "I was just thinking that Selena Quinn took an arrow for you; it’s natural for you to protect her."

Her voice was devoid of emotion.

Ethan took a sip of Seraphina’s soup, listened to her words, understood what she ant, and smiled slightly: "To outsiders, Selena Quinn is like a sister to , Ethan Sterling. If she were to bear the bla for the Elite Society, it would be disgraceful for ."

That’s the only reason?

"I thought it was because she saved you, so you spared her."

Seraphina said.

Selena Quinn’s maneuver didn’t seem to yield much benefit.

"She suddenly jumped out herself and got hit by an arrow; does she want to be grateful to her?"

Ethan sneered.

"Okay then."

Seraphina continued feeding Ethan soup.

How could it be that Selena Quinn just suddenly ran out? She had plenty of little sches, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as she wished in the end.

As Ethan drank the soup, he felt sothing was off, raised his head to look at Seraphina, and said, "You shouldn’t think that way."

"Hmm?"

Seraphina didn’t understand what Ethan ant.

"I saved your life, so you must repay ."

Ethan spoke arrogantly.

He didn’t want to take an arrow without getting anything in return.

Young Master Sterling, you’re quite the double standard.

Seraphina scooped another spoonful of soup for Ethan and softly said, "Have you ever thought about why Selena Quinn saved you today?"

"What’s there to think about? She wants to live prosperously under my protection."

The entire Sterling Family feels suffocated now; saving could bring them so many benefits.

Selena Quinn’s intentions are not that simple.

Seraphina pondered whether to remind Ethan, but Ethan suddenly looked at Seraphina: "Why do you keep ntioning Selena Quinn? Did she cause trouble for you?"

Ethan’s expression suddenly turned fierce.

Seraphina calmly t Ethan’s gaze and said, "If I say she did, what would you do?"

"Kill her."

Ethan responded without a mont’s thought.

Alright then.

Seraphina shook her head: "So far, there’s no evidence to prove she did anything to ; I think I can handle it."

Selena Quinn is quite confident in her actions and has never left any clues.

"Selena Quinn dares not; she’s not that smart," Ethan said in a low voice, "However, if she really did anything to you, just tell directly."

Selena Quinn?

Not that smart?

Ethan’s judgnt of people seed a bit off here.

For several days, Seraphina stayed at Hibiscus Garden to take care of Ethan.

Granny Coleman, seeing she was missing so much class, thought to send Seraphina back to school and take care of Young Master Sterling herself.

Seraphina ntioned it only once, and Ethan almost lost his temper.

"I got injured for you, and you actually want to leave to go to class?"

Ethan looked at Seraphina with a cold face, his amber eyes filled with hostility.

"I see you’re recovering quite well, and The Defiance Society has just made a na for itself; there are a lot of matters I need to handle," Seraphina tried to speak calmly, "I’m not going to study; I’m just attending a eting. I’ll be back in four hours."

With The Defiance Society now renowned across various sectors, Seraphina needed to seize control of the situation; Ronan Yates and the others couldn’t manage without her.

She sat while Ethan lay on her lap.

In recent days, this had beco their mode of interaction, and her legs had turned into Ethan’s pillow, going numb was a common occurrence.

Hearing Seraphina’s words, Ethan, holding a ga controller and playing, slightly opened his thin lips: "Alright, you may go."

"Really?"

Seraphina was a bit surprised; when did Ethan beco so easygoing?

"If you go, it would put in a bad mood."

Ethan continued.

Seraphina was speechless.

Ethan lifted his eyes to look at Seraphina, staring at her as he said, "If I’m in a bad mood, I might get ill. Do you want that to happen?"

Isn’t that his most taboo topic? Why would he even ntion such things just to keep her here?

Seraphina frowned, feeling extrely speechless.

Why couldn’t she regard Ethan the way he did Selena Quinn?

Ethan had voluntarily shielded her from an arrow; she hadn’t asked for it. Why should she feel guilty?

"If I fall ill, I might harm the innocent. The whole Sovereign would fall into chaos, and you’d have to endure whatever happens on your own, maybe even be sent back to the restricted zone."

Ethan slowly continued: "By then, you’d realize all those events ensued because you insisted on going to school today."

She had truly underestimated Ethan—he could concoct such a lengthy story.

Seraphina felt sowhat speechless but ultimately compromised: "Alright, I’ll stay."

Otherwise, if sothing happened in Sovereign, she’d be the culprit.

Granny Coleman ca with fruits, listening to the two’s conversation, and she looked at Seraphina with eyes full of pity.

Even Young Master Sterling didn’t know why; he was acting as if that small injury had cost him half his life, staying in Hibiscus Garden without leaving and not letting the young lady go out. Weren’t they tired of being together all the ti?

Seraphina sat on the sofa, looking out the window, watching the roses in the garden dance with the wind, their colors vibrant.

"Strawberries."

Seeing the fruits in Granny Coleman’s hand, Ethan started giving orders.

Granny Coleman imdiately handed over the fruit tray, and Seraphina reached out, picked a strawberry, and handed it to Ethan.

Ethan opened his mouth to eat it, and a few seconds later, he spoke unhappily, "Why is it sour?"

"It’s my fault for buying sour strawberries."

Granny Coleman bowed her head in apology.

Seraphina selected an orange she deed absolutely non-sour, quickly peeled it, split it, and tasted a piece. After confirming it wasn’t sour, she handed the orange to Ethan’s lips.

After Ethan finished eating, Seraphina threw the orange peel into the trash can.

Her actions just now were truly as smooth as flowing clouds and water, weren’t they?

Intent was poisonous.

She wished she could go back five minutes and give herself a knock on the head.

After a ga ended, Ethan dropped the controller and looked up at Seraphina: "Bored?"

Not bored per se, she just wanted to go to The Defiance Society to oversee matters.

Seraphina shook her head, and Ethan focused on her and asked: "Do you know how to drive?"

"No."

She had just beco an adult and was thrown into the restricted zone, where was the ti to learn driving?

"Since you’re free, let’s go; I’ll teach you how to drive."

Ethan, full of spirit, took Seraphina by the shoulders.

Teach her to drive? Why the sudden decision?

Ethan got a whim; when he said he’d teach, he’d teach.

The driver took them to the Sterling Family’s old residence.

Ethan directly led Seraphina into the underground parking lot, a vast lot without visible boundaries, filled with vehicles belonging to The Sterling Family, each parking slot fully occupied.
